Ok first noob question.
Update form cm13. Do I need wipe everything or does it work with dirty flash?
I know you recommend to wipe and make a clean install but just question if did you try to make dirty flash over cm13? Or anyone else?
Second noob question:
TWRP stays the same as for cm13? Yours?
2nd noob question:
Calling/receiving messages does it work? How stable it is and can it be considered for daily usage even though it's alpha?

I dont think dirty flashing over cm13 will work but I have not tried it.
TWRP/Install procedure is the same..

I have made calls and that did work. I have not tested receiving calls but I suspect that will work.. I have received and sent text messages and that worked.
If we are currently on the stock Nougat Beta, do we have to downgrade first? Or is it enough to flash Meticulus TWRP, wipe and flash Lineage?
I don't expect you to know that Meticulus, I am just curious if someone tried that.
So if someone tries, quote me
If not, I will try it on weekend. Don't have time to mess around right now

Meticulus twrp doesnt work on Nougat. You nees to downgrade on MM then follow the tutorial for installation.
I have a question: On almost every stock rom and on the P9 lite stock rom there is a check box in quick settings panel with which you can set the screen brightness on automatic. If I watch CM13 or Lineage OS videos I don't see such a check box in the quick settings.
So is it not possible to have automatic brightness on CM or Lineage?

It can be done in Settings -> Display.
I realized that there is no app for custom themes in this ROM. Is this due to the Alpha state or does Lineage generally not come with the CM themes engine?
I installed Substratum which basically allowed me to install my theme (I love the dark CM themes). But it surprised me that there is no built in option.
What about updates? When a new version is released how am I going to update? Flashing the ROM? OTA? I'm asking because I haven't tried CM13

LineageOS still has not ported Theme Engine to 14.1, so it's not due to alpha stage of the ROM.
If Theme Engine will be ported successfully we will have it too

To update the ROM you can just dirty flash the new build over the old one, clear cache and dalvik cache after the update is adviced.
@Meticulus you tell us that you've fixed the cameras, I was wondering if there are issues with video recording on snapchat ?
Great work btw
so if themes are not ported... Substratum should work on lineage?

I can't tell for our P9 Lite but in another of my devices, Huawei G7 running LineageOS 14.1, substratum worked for applying some themes

@Nicofisi
Technically GApps is an all together different project and I do not support it. It is always advisable to do a clean flash if you have issues after doing a dirty flash but I understand that can be inconvenient. I suggest that you download a minimal GApps and such as "nano" and re-dirty flash LineageOS 14.1; then flash the nano. After that you can download the Google Apps you use from the play store.
But I am not very knowledgeable with GApps issues perhaps someone else would know better what to do...
Guys is YouTube working on your devices? I tried reinstalling it, clearing app cache and all of that stuff but it only shows me a white loading screen.
Am I losing my mind? :silly:

This seem like the same sort of issue @Nicofisi was having... I just tested YouTube and it is working for me. I have been dirty flashing but only 14.1 on 14.1...
Did you dirty flash LineageOS 14.1 over CM13?
Does 14.1 support Vulkan API? Our GPU supports Vulkan but I wanted to ask if it's included in 14.1

CyanogenMod tries to build a new, fresh "nightly" version every 24 hours for each of the devices it supports, which includes the most up-to-date changes to the source code, provided from all over the Internet. Of course, the nightly builds may also contain newly-introduced bugs, but hey- if you feel adventurous, you can help make CyanogenMod better by trying these experimental builds and reporting back bugs to the developers.

I couldn't find a thread for the official nightlies, so here it is I guess. If there is an issue with this, mods delete. Just would be nice to have a spot to talk about the official nightlies.....unofficially.
I'm running 4/20 build with full stock gapps and have no issues so far.
4/21 Build, still no noticeable issues.
I think i am having this conversation with myself.. lol
I'm watching the thread. Want to flash CM12.1 but want to see how stable the builds are first. So any information is helpful.

I really haven't had any issues.. been running the nightlies since they were available from other users who built them, now just running the official ones. I will report anything I find, but so far it's been flawless.
The only issue I seem to be having is incoming mms photos are really compressed. Anyone else have this issue?
I believe the only major bug currently is, VoLTE is broken.
I just installed 4-21 yesterday and seen that today's build 4-22 will have the 5.1.1 merged so I dirty flashed over 4-21 and all seems good so far. I can't test VoLTE because I don't have it in my area.
I just did the same.
I did notice some weird stuff on the 4/20 build, but I think it was related to my DPI change. I reverted back to the stock DPI and everything seems ok now.
I have volte on Verizon but I believe its like chroma if u reboot u have to turn off then back on
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
4/22 build is slow to send SMS at times and noticed the messaging app is goofy at times. I'll be in a message and normally it would say the contacts name on top, sometimes that is missing.
Will wipe and try new build and report back.
Has anybody else had issues with Bluetooth randomly shutting off and requiring a reboot to turn back on? I'm on 4/23 update.
I'm running into an issue where I just can't get cm 12.1 to boot. I had an issue w/ Chroma and flashed back to the latest factory images including bootloader, radio, everything. From there, I have TWRP back and working but no matter which combination of cm12.1 build I try with any of Zen, Franco or Lean kernels along w/ the gapps from the cm wiki, I just get stuck at the blue robot and expanding circle boot logo. No amount of time sitting (10+ minutes) allows it to pass. Admittedly I have not tried w/o a kernel, but I don't want to encrypt it. The phone boots fine with stock just fine. A new install of Chroma works as well without issue. Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance.

Probably some changes have been done that those kernels dont support, for Zen did you use the anykernel zip? That *should* work.
Also, VoLTE works, but you must first toggle it off, then toggle it on. If you reboot, you must redo these steps, but it does work.
Anyone got volte to work on verizon yet on the latest 12.1 nightlies?
Mine has been working just fine

Hi guys,
I built the latest omnirom for our Z3 compact using sources kindly provided and created by Humberto Borba. There will be very little support for this ROM but I wanted to provide it as is for anyone who wants to use a custom ROM as the current choices for our device are pretty limited. I am not a DEV for this device but I do know how to build.
You will need an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
So all that goes with that ie loss of DRM etc applies here. You will also need the latest version of the bootloader to get this to work, so ensure you are coming from an uptodate 5.1.1 ROM or any 6.0.1 ROM
If you want to install GAPPS then you will need to do it immediately after installing the ROM. Do not reboot and then install GAPPs
Whats more the camera does have the fisheye lens distortion. Anyone following the AOSP dev work will be familiar with all the issues on the phone.
Again I am not posting this as a DEV project or in the DEV channels as I didn't develop it and won't be supporting it in any meaningful way.
kind regards

Updated link to folder of all builds so I won't need to update links anymore
Can you take screenshort
Ill take some screen shots on the next build. Omni have just added a new camera for snap dragon devices so I am keen to give that a spin

Hi! Thanks for your work with thiese vanilla build. I'm so impressed the whole flash procedure. I'm came from slimm1.5 rom, wiped data, cache, dalvik, system in twrp 3.0.2.0 then flashed omnirom homemade, after that slimm gapps. The whole flash time, the first time boot was incredible fast. The whole system was quickiest to the nowdays roms. I tested the new camera, but i think the fiah eye bug is still there.. But maybe not so "big eye" like previously aosp roms. Anyway, I like it. Now, testing the battery life

I guess there is no critical difference with Most other countrie's 2.4 and 5.0 GHz 802.11 channels.
Found channels on my wireless router, same with bellow's information about In Korea sections.

@mcgi5sr2 thank's 4 building a custom rom and being motivated to contribute here. do you see any way to get rid of the fisheye camera bug? i've bought my z3c in january 2015 already and built/offered a custom rom (pacman) some weeks later. i stopped contributions 3 months later, when i went to holidays and needed a fully working camera. since then i saw MANY MANY talented and motivated developers & contributers here coming and leaving within only 1 year. i'm personally using concept rom which i find quite satisfying for every day use.
but i think there won't be any wide rom developement for that nice little device if the pictures taken keep being that unusable...
regards
As of yet I don't know how to get rid of the fish eye lens effect. If I am honest I probably won't anytime soon either as I have a lot to be working on IRL

Hi Charles,
I have not been able to gain root. Initially I thought it was due to the SEpolicy denying root access. However the last few builds have had SEpolicy set to permissive so would allow root. However I am still struggling to even install root. The official Omni line is that all their builds allow for the use of systemless root from Chainfire. They do not support system root which is what is used on the stock Sony derived builds.
If you have any success regarding root please let me know.

the platform manifest I use is from OmniRoms github.
https://github.com/omnirom/android
and for the AOSP builds
https://github.com/SonyAosp/platform_manifest
as you will be able to see from these, I am only building not developing. That said I am currently synching up again for some new builds. Sony have released some new a3xxx adreno blobs so camera may be even more stable.

I'm noticing today .. possibly after the latest nightly that my home button isn't 'working' ... Finger print is fine. But it's not working as a home button. If I hit it to go home, I get vibration feedback, but does nothing. I'll try to get a log of this and post but it's just so strange. May have something messed up in the configuration settings too.. I'll dig around and update if I find a user-error. (Did I post this in the wrong place?)

I managed to build CM 13 for this device. I'll make my builds available here and try to update regularly. I take no dev credit, I'm just a builder.
I build straight from the Cyanogenmod source on Github, minus the kernel, which comes from the Sony AOSP project.
Thanks especially to derf elot for the build manifest and the CyanogenMod, FreeXperia, and Sony AOSP contributors.

Nope, no call echo, as long as you don't turn the volume too high. That ruled out all of the AOSP ROMs for me; have to be able to use my phone as a phone. Camera is exactly like the other CM-based ROMs, focus is kinda inaccurate, and video recording doesn't work. I haven't tried any low-light photos but I suspect they won't be very good.
So far, one of the best mm roms vor now.

Please do a factory reset, too. Sorry, all I know is that it works here.

Oh, I see. I'm not much of a developer, though; I just wanted some more regular CM 13 builds. I may look into patching this change in but for now, disabling the app is a good enough workaround for me, and I'm not interested in starting my own branch of CM.
Out of curiosity, how do you find the ROM so far?

TBH I'm on stock since last month (nothing can beat its battery life) and I'm waiting for Nougat to be stable enough for z1c to test it out

Tried it out yesterday. Very nice. I hadn't seen the new Themer in other roms before. I like it. Still holding out hope that someone can do something about CM camera issues.
New 9/27 build is up, now using the kernel from sonyxperiadev instead of the slightly outdated CM kernel on Github. From the commit log, there are some minor performance enhancements, but nothing too groundbreaking.
As far as the camera is concerned, this is as good as it's going to get.
deleted. sorry, wrong post
Used it for a day. Performance wise the best MM rom i've tried so far, the only real lag-free MM rom.
But as a price the camera is pretty much completely broken or has horrible (50$ smartphone front camera) quality on the backface camera...
I flashed everything clean twice, no idea why this happens.
I'm going back to official CM12.1 and try to get the best out of my Z1C as a daily driver, but it's nice to see people putting effort into building more MM/CM13 roms =)

Yeah, it's a shame about the camera. Unfortunately, it's on Sony to provide better MM binary blobs. There were some new binaries released back in June, but they completely break the Z1C's camera (see the latest FreeXperia builds).
After so much talk about Sony being open to development, it kinda stinks to be left to hang like this.
@SouthernPacific - I'm curious about theme manager on your rom. Is it the CynaogenOS themer? I've found a flashable zip for Cynaogen apps, (to run on non-CyanogenOS CM roms), but I was wondering about a way to use that theme manager on a non-CM rom. I tried using addon.d and permissions files from the zip, but app still fc. Think it's possible?

I don't know much about it, to be honest. It's just built when you build any CM 13 ROM.
I would imagine it's a lot more complicated than installing the apk, though - the UI code needs some pretty deep hooks to be modifiable like that. Maybe just use another engine, possibly with Xposed?

Arm64, Android 6.0 and the variant you prefeer.
I've a problem with the clock app maybe "micro" variant isn't bugged.
If you put in this rom the U Touch button functions, the Multitasking ios alike and the Switcher Toggles (swipe from bottom to upwards like ios) funcionality, I would install it NOW. I heard Mokee ROM let it alone working. Is it the case here?
I'm trying this ROM and am having trouble with notifications. Possible?
Stable and nice ROM
I have installed it and it is despite the nightly-character of the ROM a stable and very nice ROM which I can really recommend!

I don't know, but would not dare this. My one, was from LOS-14.1 to MK7.1.1.
Did a clean install. But thank you for the warning.
