Hi guys,
I built the latest omnirom for our Z3 compact using sources kindly provided and created by Humberto Borba. There will be very little support for this ROM but I wanted to provide it as is for anyone who wants to use a custom ROM as the current choices for our device are pretty limited. I am not a DEV for this device but I do know how to build.
You will need an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
So all that goes with that ie loss of DRM etc applies here. You will also need the latest version of the bootloader to get this to work, so ensure you are coming from an uptodate 5.1.1 ROM or any 6.0.1 ROM
If you want to install GAPPS then you will need to do it immediately after installing the ROM. Do not reboot and then install GAPPs
Whats more the camera does have the fisheye lens distortion. Anyone following the AOSP dev work will be familiar with all the issues on the phone.
Again I am not posting this as a DEV project or in the DEV channels as I didn't develop it and won't be supporting it in any meaningful way.
kind regards
Download
Updated link to folder of all builds so I won't need to update links anymore
Can you take screenshort
Ill take some screen shots on the next build. Omni have just added a new camera for snap dragon devices so I am keen to give that a spin

Hi! Thanks for your work with thiese vanilla build. I'm so impressed the whole flash procedure. I'm came from slimm1.5 rom, wiped data, cache, dalvik, system in twrp 3.0.2.0 then flashed omnirom homemade, after that slimm gapps. The whole flash time, the first time boot was incredible fast. The whole system was quickiest to the nowdays roms. I tested the new camera, but i think the fiah eye bug is still there.. But maybe not so "big eye" like previously aosp roms. Anyway, I like it. Now, testing the battery life

I guess there is no critical difference with Most other countrie's 2.4 and 5.0 GHz 802.11 channels.
Found channels on my wireless router, same with bellow's information about In Korea sections.

@mcgi5sr2 thank's 4 building a custom rom and being motivated to contribute here. do you see any way to get rid of the fisheye camera bug? i've bought my z3c in january 2015 already and built/offered a custom rom (pacman) some weeks later. i stopped contributions 3 months later, when i went to holidays and needed a fully working camera. since then i saw MANY MANY talented and motivated developers & contributers here coming and leaving within only 1 year. i'm personally using concept rom which i find quite satisfying for every day use.
but i think there won't be any wide rom developement for that nice little device if the pictures taken keep being that unusable...
regards
As of yet I don't know how to get rid of the fish eye lens effect. If I am honest I probably won't anytime soon either as I have a lot to be working on IRL

Hi Charles,
I have not been able to gain root. Initially I thought it was due to the SEpolicy denying root access. However the last few builds have had SEpolicy set to permissive so would allow root. However I am still struggling to even install root. The official Omni line is that all their builds allow for the use of systemless root from Chainfire. They do not support system root which is what is used on the stock Sony derived builds.
If you have any success regarding root please let me know.

the platform manifest I use is from OmniRoms github.
https://github.com/omnirom/android
and for the AOSP builds
https://github.com/SonyAosp/platform_manifest
as you will be able to see from these, I am only building not developing. That said I am currently synching up again for some new builds. Sony have released some new a3xxx adreno blobs so camera may be even more stable.

Cybertronic Kernel v5 - 4/23/2014
Sync-up Kernel to 3.4.82 (from 3.4.39)
Samsung clean-up and debug removal (They leave tons of factory-only, test-only debug code on)
Config optimization
Cache read-ahead optimized
More free RAM (1760MB Stock, now 1830MB)
Compiled with latest 4.8 Android toolchain (better ARM optimizations for Cortex-A15)
Caveats:
Secure storage is disabled
Only signed Samsung kernels can have this enabled. Keys/Wifi passwords, etc. Are still stored in the secure Android key-chain,
they are just not stored in TrustZone hardware. If this is critical for you, stick with the stock Samsung kernels.
In Progress...:
- ARM HMP (This will allow all 8 cores to be online at once) Porting it in will be a challenge, since it was introduced in the
3.11 kernel branch. I'm hoping the next release from Samsung bumps up the version, so it will be easier. I'll work on it in
in the meantime though.
- Merge-in ADF from Android mainline.
- Merge in anything neat from S5
Install TWRP Recovery first:
http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/picassowifi
Download and install in TWRP Recovery, or use Flashify:
MOD EDIT: Link Removed as per no kernel source as per XDA Rules, and no reply from Author of said kernel.

Works well so far. Features list will be nice
Dont want to look at purely benchmarks but seems fluid.

You'll never brick your device from a kernel. It doesn't overwrite the bootloader or recovery. So you can always go back to stock, even if the kernel doesn't boot.
Anyhow.... I'm only looking for testers, who have experience. This isn't a public kernel yet, which is why the limited info. So please, calm down.
People have had good results testing so far, so I'll be releasing full details and the public file soon.
Thanks

No worries I'm not building up a rage or something like that
It was meant as a figure of speech since we now nothing
I just think it might attract more testers if we know more about what we are testing.
Is it optimized in general or is it meant for speed(oc'ing) or adds it extra functionalities to the kernel? something like that.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to your official release, and thank you for your time and effort you put into it for us Tab PRO users :good:
Does it mean we can also expect some roms for t520

Edit: I can confirm that flashing TWRP from rooted SM-T520 works with Flashify. Flashify finds and downloads correct TWRP2.7.0.1.

You need TWRP first, with which you can make a backup of System to preserve the current kernel.
Running with the kernel now. Seems to be in order, but cannot tell of any advantages that are noticable.

Yeah I do. Poweramp takes some trickery though. You have to go into Audio -> Advanced Tweaks and uncheck Direct volume control, and BT Direct Volume Control. I also check MusicFX. Normally with other ROMs I have to do that and then enable the switch in the Tone/Volume screen, but that switch doesn't appear on Liquid so you may not need to check that box.

Then plug in your headphones. That seems to kick start Poweramp/Viper. In Viper settings you may have to disable and renable it. Then it should process everywhere until a reboot. Then you gotta do the headphones thing again.

What variant do you have? And where did the modem come from? Most ROMs now need the stock modem. The actual one that came with the OTAs. If you're using one from dr87's thread that were patched to fix rotation, they won't work.

With that, some words of wisdom:
1.This is an Android 5.1 Lollipop-based release - update your third party addons to ensure compatibility
2.The CM backupscript.sh in recovery will ignore and remove incompatible applications from your system partition (these are usually non-CM apps that users have opted to install). You must install a compatible app (or app pack) to regain that functionality
3.You can flash CM12.1 nightlies directly from CM11 M12 or CM 11 nightlies (no need to wipe), provided you read and followed items 1 and 2
4.Once on CM12.1 nightlies, you cannot downgrade back to CM11 without wiping – if you are thinking of just exploring the release, then take a backup of your existing installation if you want to go back to it.
5.You’ll need an L compatible recovery DOWNLOAD post #2 [TWRP - install]
6.For those which have problem with root acces - flashable superSU file via custom recovery.
6a.Check also on developer options is there root acces is "thick" for APPS+ADB
enjoy!

Unless they changed their policy, this was their stance on encryption for OFFICIAL releases as of 10/31. You can still flash a different kernel that supports unencrypted volumes though, or install an unofficial release that comes with a different kernel.
"Items not up for debate:
1) Watering down of SELINUX protections or Encryption by default. These are base protections L is introducing and we should support these items as such. If your device fails to allow encrypting, it will not get a CM sanctioned release."
hopefully the theme engine will be here soon just waiting for that before I flash.

Does this support Verizon LTE or is it plagued by the ongoing issues found with some of the other CM-based ROMs for shamu?

Shouldn't this be in Original Android development since this is the official thread?
I have install this build and first impression:
DIALER is much response compared to pure shamu rom + sensei kernel
no lag
no SOD
phone is not hot
during install this ROM phone being encrypted (it takes 30s)
it needs time to say more
Downloading now to see
one more thing so much important :
enough loud voice during a call without any modification! (out of the box)
what kernel would you guys recommend using to stay as close as possible to stock but with out encryption?
ROOT is a little different. Took me awhile to figure out that privacy guard has to be enabled on the app to recognize superuser access. Looks good other than the white background is killing me! cant wait for themes.
greenify seems to freeze the phone when using this first nightly. weird cuz it didnt happen with the unofficial builds.

i said i just share it
i didnt change the rom name by my self i just share it
This ROM was an official release I found it on the internet and suggested it to many after testing. I'm on 2.2 Blisspop Unofficial if you's want link let me know as I have uploaded already it's stable for me odd bug is clear all recents fab sometimes doesn't show up also it has Chinese bloat which is removable but on reboot comes back.
There's no official release for Yuga that I can find on the Blisspop website. Where is this from?
Edit - Also, if you're uploading and sharing roms, then you should provide source in whichever format is easiest for you (a tarball/repo link etc) in order to comply with the GPL. Please do so.

Also you say it has Chinese bloatware....I'll pass thanks

BTW the apps are removable I think there is like 5 Chinese apps the ROM is fully English etc... Apart from the few apps just get titanium and freeze them so they don't come back on reboot I have had 0 issues and it works fast as hell
http://roms.blog.163.com/blog/static/20685312620152175125386/
That looks shady as you can get. It's not an official rom by a device maintainer, it has Chinese bloatware that apparently reappears even if you remove it and there's no source available, which is an absolute requirement when any custom kernel is distributed.
No way would I flash that on my device as who knows what else is preloaded that isn't as obvious as the bloatware.

2.2 is unofficial
But for me ROM is perfect no issues bloat I just frozen with titanium.
As for bloat it's a Chinese app store, baidu and some other things. And still works flawless.
2.1 apparently was official which was named official on the ROMs zip.
Noticeable difference from 2.1 & 2.2 isn't much tbh 2.2 has music visualisation on lock screen. Themes work better as sources will be more updated and smart control
If people want to test 2.2 I have link flash at your own will.
I have had no issues been using over 1week now and I have xposed installed with it for flat style coloured bars.
Selinux is set to enforcing by default I have an app to change it as I have a few apps that need Selinux set to permissive.
Screen shots
For the third time: Where is the kernel source?
It 100% must be provided, or the terms of the GPL are being broken. "So what?" you may say. Without the Linux/Android kernel being open source and everyone playing fair and providing sources, then none of the custom roms you like flashing and tinkering with would even exist.
If sources aren't provided along with the rom in any format (even a link to where they're provided), then you shouldn't link the rom here as it isn't fair to the developers that do comply with the license correctly.

I managed to build CM 13 for this device. I'll make my builds available here and try to update regularly. I take no dev credit, I'm just a builder.
I build straight from the Cyanogenmod source on Github, minus the kernel, which comes from the Sony AOSP project.
Thanks especially to derf elot for the build manifest and the CyanogenMod, FreeXperia, and Sony AOSP contributors.

ROM
Gapps
Instructions
Unlock bootloader and install a custom recovery (suggest TWRP 3)
Wipe system, data, cache
Flash update ZIP
Flash Gapps (optional)
Known Issues
AudioFX crashes constantly
Charging battery not always reflected in UI
Fullscreen video playback sometimes results in black screen
FM radio nonfunctional
Misc Info
Motivation: Most of the AOSP and other MM ROMs for this device have some deal-breaking bug for me, such as sleep of death or echoes when making phone calls, with the exception of the pure CM 13 ROMs. However, nobody's built one in some time, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Patches: Most of the code was ready to build as is. I ran into one problem: the 3.10 kernel's device tree lacks some Qualcomm-specific board information, so boot.img fails to build. I copied it from the CM 12 branch and all was well. Patch against CyanogenMod/kernel_sony_msm: View attachment 3872045

Very cool. I am guessing no call echo here? That was always annoying. How is the camera (especially in the dark)?

Nope, no call echo, as long as you don't turn the volume too high. That ruled out all of the AOSP ROMs for me; have to be able to use my phone as a phone. Camera is exactly like the other CM-based ROMs, focus is kinda inaccurate, and video recording doesn't work. I haven't tried any low-light photos but I suspect they won't be very good.
So far, one of the best mm roms vor now.
But Designs for me Designs don't work. Anybody the same bug ?

Oh, I see. I'm not much of a developer, though; I just wanted some more regular CM 13 builds. I may look into patching this change in but for now, disabling the app is a good enough workaround for me, and I'm not interested in starting my own branch of CM.
Out of curiosity, how do you find the ROM so far?

TBH I'm on stock since last month (nothing can beat its battery life) and I'm waiting for Nougat to be stable enough for z1c to test it out

Tried it out yesterday. Very nice. I hadn't seen the new Themer in other roms before. I like it. Still holding out hope that someone can do something about CM camera issues.
New 9/27 build is up, now using the kernel from sonyxperiadev instead of the slightly outdated CM kernel on Github. From the commit log, there are some minor performance enhancements, but nothing too groundbreaking.
As far as the camera is concerned, this is as good as it's going to get.
deleted. sorry, wrong post
Used it for a day. Performance wise the best MM rom i've tried so far, the only real lag-free MM rom.
But as a price the camera is pretty much completely broken or has horrible (50$ smartphone front camera) quality on the backface camera...
I flashed everything clean twice, no idea why this happens.
I'm going back to official CM12.1 and try to get the best out of my Z1C as a daily driver, but it's nice to see people putting effort into building more MM/CM13 roms =)

Yeah, it's a shame about the camera. Unfortunately, it's on Sony to provide better MM binary blobs. There were some new binaries released back in June, but they completely break the Z1C's camera (see the latest FreeXperia builds).
After so much talk about Sony being open to development, it kinda stinks to be left to hang like this.
@SouthernPacific - I'm curious about theme manager on your rom. Is it the CynaogenOS themer? I've found a flashable zip for Cynaogen apps, (to run on non-CyanogenOS CM roms), but I was wondering about a way to use that theme manager on a non-CM rom. I tried using addon.d and permissions files from the zip, but app still fc. Think it's possible?

I don't know much about it, to be honest. It's just built when you build any CM 13 ROM.
I would imagine it's a lot more complicated than installing the apk, though - the UI code needs some pretty deep hooks to be modifiable like that. Maybe just use another engine, possibly with Xposed?
