Greetings
is there a some kind protector on the wide glass that cover the 2 cameras, as I noticed it got scratched so I wanted to know if its the glass that got scratched or if its a protector
The phone is shipped with a film over the glass. The film has four cut-outs though, two for the lenses, one for the flash and one for the AF sensor.
i am trying to peel it off but can not
thanks for the reply
is it difficult to peel off,
I think mine does not have a film on it, was wondering is there a way to replace it and buy a new glass for the cameras, and from where
Yes it's very difficult to peel off, i remember the same ordeal when I got mine lol.. But yes the camera lens surface should be completely smooth and flat and not have little cutouts on the lenses and if it does, the screen protector is still on there.. I just kept picking at it with my fingernail and eventually an edge lifted up and I was able to peel it off..
i am bit in confusion , as i try to peel off but nothing is peeling off, was it difficult to peel off
can you the film or not when i was on,
If you have a needle or a paper clip, you could use them to take the film off the camera

is it a very thin film or kinda thick, when u had it on, did u see that there was any sign of film on, as to me it looks like there is no film on it
If you run your finger over the whole camera (from the led flash to the sensor) and feel a depression area over the cameras, flash, and sensor then you have the film. If the whole camera (running your finger) feels leveled/flush then you don't have the film.
My apologies for jumping the gun, I didn't notice there was a film on the camera before. It blends in very well and it is kinda thick in my opinion.
Hopefully this makes sense.
thanks guys, yes there was a film, removed it now its like new again
thanks all

Almost instantly after unboxing my new white MT3G, I noticed the battery door and other parts of the housing squeaking and making irritating noises. This may not bother some people, but I had to pay full price for my device, so I'd like it to not feel like a cheap plastic toy.
At any rate, I have had similar issues with many other HTC devices, most which were fixed by adding cloth or masking tape to the squeaking surfaces, and voila!
But, its not working on the MT3G... even plain masking tape seems to be too thick, as the battery door rises up and leaves a noticeable gap between it and the rest of the chassis - if I apply tape to it.
I haven't experimented a lot, but I'm getting frustrated and was looking to see if anyone else may have some insight!
Thanks in advance!
An hour of experimentation later, I think I may have a solution for those of you with MT3G's/Magics that are sick of the squeaky toy feeling. Once I perfect my cutouts, I'm going to measure, image and PDF a stencil for you guys to cut out your own MT3G anti squeak mats. The final should be a one piece design, to avoid it from wearing out and getting crappy. This method is low-profile enough to not make the battery cover stand off and gap, but provides enough 'insulation' to keep it from squeaking. Note that the battery has two layers of tape on it, to keep it level with the rest of the back of the device.
Forgive the ugliness, this is a first run... I just wanted to share with the community, as I was excited as hell when I popped on the battery cover and said "OH SHI-- NO SQUEAKS?!"
pictures (the tape is marked with blue sharpie to give contrast - originally white waterproof adhesive medical tape):

So I picked up a used S4 pretty cheap, but it has a hairline crack across the top right corner of the screen. I got an Incipio feather case and it came with a pretty thick screen protector(Now installed). Without screen protector you could not feel the crack and could only see it at certain angles.
My question is, will the protector add any additional strength and/or is the integrity of the screen severely compromised by this crack?

Phone rooted & running TriForceRom. Also flashed to PagePlus and works great.
I think it will. Because I have a xtreme guard (similar to zagg) on my gs3 which I dropped really hard on the ground and it chipped the glass where the screen protector was not covering the screen. There definitely should have been some cracking but I believe it was the screen protector that prevented it.

I agree even though it is not the same my S3 dropped and cracked the screen a lot more than yours. I could feel fine shreds and immediately went to Sprint and purchased a screen protector. They installed it and it is a lesser quality generic sprint labeled protector. I've always used Zagg and it is not anywhere near the same quality.
I have continued to drop, scrap and mess the screen up without any issues. I think as long as the crack is not sever enough to mess with the LED of the screen then it is a outer layer crack. I have bricked 3 E4GT's in the past and before sending them back tried everything to scratch the screen from metal files, scissors, knifes, key and could never scratch it so my opinion is the protectors are not for scratches but to keep the glass in place.
I haven't taken the phone in for repair because they want to much and have been leery to replace it myself. It is still 100% functional and since I upgraded to S4 and now have 4.4.2 I've left the S3 on the desk.
What is this and how can I fix it? No cracks, everything is fine:

Looks like the outer glass is separating/seperated. In between the outer glass and inner LCD is an adhesive. To me it looks like the adhesive has separated between the outer glass and glass of the LCD.
What you could try is using a heat gun carefully/ blow dryer and heat up the outer glass and see if you can press them glasses back together. I would be careful as it could actually speed up the separation.

So, is this what I need then? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201002181709&alt=web
Yes that would be a start. I would HIGHLY recommend reading this post and watch some videos on how to replace it. I would also suggest that you purchase a GOOD quality LOCA (liquid optically clear adhesive) and a UV lamp.
This is if you want to undergo this kind of fix. It does have its dangers.
Also I was suggesting to TRY and apply some heat to your glass as it is, then see if the adhesive will stick back down without the air bubble?

I got my note 4 day after launch and yesterday morning a bubble showed up under the glass on the left top corner of the screen At first I though it was the screen protector that had a bubble underneath but after taking the screen protector off it is actually under the glass. The bubble is about half inch long by 1/8th inch wide or so. I couldn't find any info on anyone else with this problem. I went to Tmobile and they sent a replacement phone out right away. Anyway just seeing if anyone else has had this problem. There is no damage to the glass or screen just a bubble under the glass. XDA wont let me post photos in my posts yet so once I'm over 10 posts i'll put some pictures of it up.
Looks like glue wasn't cured right. Were you able to "push" bubble out by pressing on screen or is more like cured glue separated from glass?

Pressing on it doesn't make the bubble go away or change shape in any way.
be good if some way we can see a picture.

There it finally allowed me to post photos.
yeah that's a strange one! Only thing I can think of is that it was there when you first bought it, but it was too small for you take notice until it got bigger!
Exchange!
This is the adhesive that fuses the LCD panel to the glass digitizer separating. Definitely a factory defect and definitely get it exchanged. This should not be happening.
Mine is separating in the same spot. Can only see it when the light it on it just right, hasn't gotten as bad as yours yet

HOW HARD IS GORILLA 3 RESISTED TO THE STRETCH
With fingers i think not, but when you have it in pocket with something like key´s then you can scratch it.
And i would reccomend you a case because the rim is from plastic after a while it damages and it looks ugly ..
Fingers? Or nails? If its the former, then no. If its the latter then, probably. I have seen people hitting LCD panels with their awfully huge pointy nails, I don't know, but hurts me just to even see it.
I always will recommend a screen protector, glass if possible.
You can't scratch it with anything if you have a tempered glass screen protector on it...

Sorry I could not resist.
It's glass. You can't stretch it.

I'm faily sure you mean scratch, not stretch.
Unless of course you're actually trying to lengthen the screen by pulling on it like a rubber band. In which case I don't think flexible screens are that effective just quite yet. You'll have to wait a few years.
Gorilla Glass 3 is fairly hard to scratch. Sand, keys and knives will, over time, damage the screen, but a protector isn't vital.
