Hi awesome people on XDA, hope every one is doing well.
Pls allow me to apologize in advance for starting this thread as a last resort. Please believe me when I say I have tried and failed in all known (googled) options to restore my Asus Zenpad 10. I found many threads for different models, but not this particular one.
Issue - - My Asus Zenpad 10 P023 - was shipped with CN ROM. All was going well until I decided to install custom ENG ROM on it. I know I made some mistake somewhere and the tab is now stuck on ASUS logo and wont start
Positive - - I can still access FASTBOOT mode
Negative - - No ADB access, the fastboot mode, all I have is word "FASTBOOT MODE" on screen and nothing else happens, apart from hold power down to turn off. :crying:
All I want is to be able to get the tab back on with ENG ROM, doesn't matter what ROM, custom, stock, anything.
Please feel free to call me stupid, noob, as long as I get correct info to get the tab working.
(BTW, I will really appreciate a detailed asnwer step by step, I am still noob and don't know much, thus have a bricked tab)
If you could redirect me to other threads which could be helpful to my case, will be welcome too.
Thanks in advance!!
Follow up updates -
Errors on FASTBOOT are -
When flashing system - VRL needs to be flashed
Update system - package does not contain "android-info.txt'
Flashing recovery - Failed to flash recovery
Erasing recovery - success
OEM unlock - already unlocked
And many more

Hi! I have a bricked ZTE Libra (Sapo A5 in Portugal) and no mather how much I search for solutions I only seem to make things worse, so I was hoping someone here could help me.
Things started to go wrong after flashing a CyanogenMod rom. Everything worked except two things: I couldn't use anything that required my SIM card (so no phone or messaging) and I could not access the recovery screen (clockworkmod).
Without the recovery screen, I turned to ROM Manager but since it uses clockworkmod to do its work it didn't help.
Then I started trying other ways to recover my phone, until I tried ADB which allowed me a shell in my android. But then I broke it all by doing "wipe system" which cleaned my system of everything that was still working and left me with an expensive brick.
Now all I can do is boot until I see the green droid. If I don't press the volume buttons it goes into "device" mode and I can see it listed under "adb devices" but have no idea what to do with it.
If I press the volume button down to go into recovery mode it keeps flashing but never really goes anywhere.
If I press it up to go into the bootloader it stays the same and the only thing I can use to tell me something is different than the normal mode is that lsusb reports the vendor as "Google Inc." instead of what it reports in normal mode: "ONDA Communication S.p.A.".
With this I'm not even sure if I can get to the bootloader or not, but even if that is the bootloader, I have no idea what to do with it that might help me recover my phone.
By the way, I'm trying all this on Linux, although I could try solutions in Windows if required.
Can anyone tell me what can I do in this situation?
Ok, maybe my first post wasn't that easy to answer, so I'll make a simpler question to see if someone can help me.
What can be done at my android's bootloader? What is it for and what tools do I need to use to do it?
You could try installing ClockworkMod recovery using wbaw's guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319257 Once that's installed you should be able to flash a new rom with it.
In bootloader mode you can flash a new kernel or recovery image using fastboot.
If you follow that guide that I wrote & Amphoras linked to then you should be able to get a working clockworkmod installed and then you can use that to flash a working rom, or restore a backup.
Thank you both, I'll try what you said as soon as I can and then I'll let you know if it worked!
Ladies and gentleman, today a miracle happened, my ZTE came back from the dead!
Apparently the problem was that I installed some GEN2 applications on my GEN1 model.
I found this while reading the tutorial you suggested, after which I upgraded my ZTE to GEN2 which allowed me to slowly recover everything else.
So, I have to say, thank you very much, and I hope I won't need your help again anytime soon! xD
Hi guys,
after three days of reading and reading and many hands on - thank u all for all the usefull posts here - i need a definitely answer:
- is it possible to grab the acer a500 cpuid under APX Mode or not?
Scenary:
- tablet prompts every day for an update. My friend at last accepted it and then the reboot came and then some problems like restarting, crashes, etc. (I suppose a simple hard reset would fix it and he'd have a clean and workfull update. But he took to a assistence shop near his home and as i can figure it out they tried to flash it instead cos stuck in android after acer splash. And if tried to go into recovery mode only a layed down droid with that red exclamation.
- in my turn first tried to grab cpuid as i read here - thank u all - but all i got 0123456789ABCDEF. Then tried to flash with an update.zip grabbed from some rom version i cant remember after such many readings... No longer, sorry - and after updating completely the TABLET CONFIGURING screen comes out then reboots and BOOT VERIFIED FAILED. I tried also others update.zip but this one is the only one wich can "works". All the others one i tried stop around 33% and the droid lays down again.
That´s why i need an answer to my question cos i think it´s the only way to have a succesfull flashing via APX mode. Am right?
After so much brain stormings i have seen around here about this issue will someone still try to gimme a help?
Thank u all in advance.
Rgds,
If the device is booting into APX mode you should just need to do a read of 8 bytes, this should give you the UID.
I posted some C code for doing this with libusb before.
And this should be posted in Q&A.
Sorry for the incorrect forum, but it appears there is no such forum for my specific device.
So story goes, I rooted it about 6 months back, lost the charger and stopped using it for maybe 2 months, found the charger yesterday, turned it on, was prompted with a System Update upon connecting to the internet, update failed, tried to do a hard reset (pwr, vol +, lock button) - it returned the message "Unrecoverable Bootloader Error (0x19000008)"
After receiving this message, I am unable to boot the device, it hangs at the "Iconia Tab" splash screen.
I tried various methods found online, including one where I put the device in the "fastboot mode" with the series of buttons previously mentioned, went as far as trying to execute the command "fastboot oem unlock" and other variants of the same command or related commands, and all of them lead me to "< waiting for device >".
This puts me in an uncomfortable position, as I am fairly tech-savvy, and normally capable of knocking out minor inconveniences such as this one.
I am fairly familiar in the android/rooting/rom'ing world with phones, and the methods used for this device were very unfamiliar, and confusing. Normally I'd just use the fastboot files to restore it to stock, and be done with it, the methods with this tablet are confusing and most solutions people have posted have been unsuccessful in my aid to fixing this.
So I ask you ladies and gentlemen, what can I do?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

Will it boot to the stock recovery? If so, do some searching for a a200 rom or update. If it's an update, then you'll need to decrypt it (look in the Themes and Apps forum for the decrypting tool. It should be one of the first threads). After decrypting, open the zip, and pull the "update.zip" (do not extract), and copy that update.zip to your Ext SD card. Reboot to the stock recovery and see if it installs it. Might have to try several a200 update.zips before one works.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the power + volume + lock toggle is the method used to get to the recovery?
When I try that it gives me that bootloader error and will not proceed any further.

I recommend trying in the Acer A200 forum here: http://www.acertabletforum.com/forum/forum.php Does your PC recognize the table when it's plugged in? YOu could try to reflash the bootloader. Just throwing out a couple of ideas.
Noob so sorry for the stupid mistake.
Have a 551ML, on bliss w/ TWRP and was supposedly rooted already(can't remember which method I used, but the start screen was white background/black words). Have been using the phone for a year without issue.
One day some kind of stupid just came over me, and I followed this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/unlock-zenfone2-android-6-0-beta-unlock-t3411264
without even sure what was I suppose to be doing...(not blaming OP, I am the dumba** here)
everything went through just like suggested, but now the phone start screen shows un-rooted(black background, white words), and the phone is stuck on fastboot... Can't get into recovery or normal boot.
Can anyone advise what am I suppose to do now? I am thinking I need to unbrick the device using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256
But I am stuck at:
1.2 Connect with computer IntelSoc Zenfone 2:
Can't seems to get the computer to register my 551ML as a 'MOOREFIELD device'?
Can anybody gives me some pointers or maybe there are some easier way for my situation?
p.s. here are the fastboot info, in case it might help:
HW_VERSION - UNKNOWN
IFWI VERSION - 0094.0183
SERIAL NUMBER - 0123456789ABCDEF
SIGNING - ?
SECURE_BOOT - ?
continue the fastboot process
Thx in advance!

flash boot image
then flash recovery image
then any rom you want
Thank you for replying so quickly!!
Can you be more specific on how to 'flash boot image'? I have tried to put the asus OTA image on the SD card, but it didn't triggered....
small update:
I have extracted boot image(boot.img) from ASUS Z00A firmware, and download the correct twrp recovery(twrp.img), and tried the following commands:
fastboot -w
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot erase cache
and the result is still the same. Only able to reboot to bootloader no matter what, with the 'continue the fastboot process'.
Can anybody share some thought? really miss using my Z00A......:crying:

Thank you so much!! The ASUS Flash tool works, and I have my Z00DA back to life!
For people with similar issue and want to use the tool, please noted that it takes a while(~15 min for the flash) + the tools does not shows any progress %, and afterward it will takes another 10 mins for the phone to start, so be very patient.....
Flashing Stock ROM failed.
Now won't boot of course, nor I can access fastboot. It's gone.
After turning Tablet on shows: "Boot Failed. EFI Hard drive"
and straight after that: "Boot Succeeded - Enter Setup"
Then BIOS like or actually BIOS shows - Title - VALLEYVIEW CO PLATFORM...
How can I fix fastboot? Or Droid Boot? I didn't even know I had BIOS in background?
I guess all blame me because I had Rooted... Is it trashing Tablet next step? Cause I couldn't find anything. I just wanted to go back to Stock ROM.
Anyone saw somewhere how to bring back fastboot? Or make it boot-able anything useful?
In that BIOS there is Boot Manager option and offers
- EFI Hard drive - Device path : PciRoot (0x0) /Pci (0x17, 0x0) /Ctrl (0x0)
- EFI Internal Shell - Device path : MemoryPapped (0xB,0xFFF50000,0xFFF8FFFF) /FvFile(C...
Can I somehow go somewhere from here?
Device Manager
Boot Maintenance Manage - has option Boot From FIle
- Boot Next Value... I'm lost.
I'm browsing that bios all possible ways to find something useful, but with no success.. Please help.
EDIT1: I find out that holding Power button and BOTH volume keys will start FastBoot - But mine stucks on "FastBoot Starting..."
There is already thread on xda discussing what to do when you got UEFI screen. restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2 tool is the answer.
I lost that thread, so I'll answer to mine thread:
My state was - tablet ended up in UEFI. Couldn't get through but I did on the end with novice mistakes. So, here is advice and mistakes which cost me some time.
Spot that you need to be in DnX mode - kk-tool says that - pressed Volume keys and power button. Then tablet says FastBoot Starting...
Do not run KK bios restore tool with Intel Phone Flash Tool opened. Close Intel Phone Flash Tool. Then run kk-tool and follow instructions.
Then use Intel Platform Flash Tool to flash ROM (you need android driver and USB driver). I have used and working (not first image but some other second download worked): YT2-1050F_S0198_150422_ROW. Then I have tried to update to Android Lollipop but install failure.. Killed KitKat.. I'll google more tomorrow.
Let me know if you find working ROM able to update all the way successfully to Lollipop.
Looks scary when you see grey-blue UEFI screen - Oh, I must screwed up pretty bad if I lost FastBoot... You might think something like that, like I did. But kk tool really kick-off and helped.
I have searched quite thoroughly in this forum but I can not seem to find the restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2 tool . I have this same problem and can not get my 830LC running.

Updating this old thread. I found my 1050F tablet and it has the same problem. I tried to download the files from the latest link of the thread but the link is dead
If anyone has those files it would be useful to me (and surely others)
