Difference between MPHS24.49-18-8 & MPHS24.107-58-5 - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Both are original roms for XT1572_CLARK_RETEU.
Difference in radio parts: filesize in NON-HLOS.bin is different !
One is Android 6.0.1, the other is 6.0, both released in september 2016.
Does anyone know the difference (radio wise) ?
I took a picture of another moto x style: MPHS24.49-18-3 was shown.

This sounds like an XY question... What is the real problem you're trying to resolve?
There are tons of other differences, but what would largely relate to the radios is, obviously, the 2 radio pieces and the boot image (kernel), although there probably isn't too much significant difference radio related. Remember that roms in general are not really a bunch of pieces, it is a single unit that works as one, you can't really take binary pieces from multiple ones and smash them together.

I'm trying to install cm13, don't think it includes the radio parts or does it ?
I'm having gps issues. The 6.0.1 builds (without cm) didn't solve a thing.
There was a suggestion flashing the radio parts and wiping them should help.

Use the latest radios that are specific for your device... There is more to flashing radios than just the NON-HLOS file, you would use
fastboot flash

What is the difference between MPHS24.49-18-8 and MPHS24.107-58-5 (which one is used where, both reteu stock images)?
What does the S mean ?

[Q] No baseband when on custom rom, but working on stock

Hey there,
I am an active reader of this forum for 4 years now - thank you for all the information - and have a uncommon problem with my nexus 4,
yesterday i upgraded my purity rom to the actual build and have no cellular connection since then 8excuse me for my english right away)
What seems to be a trivila problem is kinda tricky (of course a looked a lot for possible causes and resolves in the forum).
the problem is: i have flashe the actual bootloader, radio and made a factory image flash and my nexus is working when on stock rom.
but when i flash a custom rom - i tried purity, psx and cm 10.1 - the cellular connectivity and in some cases wifi is gone. once i flash the factory image everything is fine again.
can you imagine a possible explanation?
one more information: when flashing the new purity update, i accidentally flashed not the current one, but the 2 month old version... but i allready made a clean-flash, wiping everything and flashing just the rom.
i'm on the most recent bootloader, radio und cwm-recovery
Any idea? Thanks in advance...
alex
update to latest recovery for either cwm or twrp its a common issue that many have posted issues about
hey,
it worked, reverted to an earlier cwm build and it works again. thank you very much

Updated Radio - Sensors Not Working - Please Help

Like an idiot, I updated my radio not realizing that I needed to also check EFS (I think) to backup the radio. So, I use Mahdi rom on my VS980, and I've tried every combo of radio version (10b, 11a, 12a, 12b, 24a) with the versions of Mahdi based on the older and newer Kernel versions. I can't get any of the sensors working. So no camera, rotation, auto brightness, etc. What are my options here to get that stuff working?
Got my answer....

Actually I'd use one of the 24a bootstack zips in XDAbbebs thread or Malladus and then flash their ROM. Get the lock, then flash Mahdi. You'll be all set. What does the GA stand for after you flashed SuperSU?

[Q] Is it possible to install i9515 rom on i9505?

It seems like these two models are very very similar, and I have seen threads where people want to install i9505 roms on i9515, but what about the other way around? There are no published roms for the i9505 in my country, but there are roms for i9515. Will I brick the phone if I install an i9515 rom on my i9505?
Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks!
Where have you found roms for i9515? Devs are still working to port cm11, there is no custom rom available for i9515 (value edition)... As far as I know

I haven't been looking for custom roms from i9515. I was going to put the stock i9515 rom for my country (from sammobile) on my i9505 because there are no i9505 roms designed for here. I was hoping that would help solve some modem and gps problems that I've been having. Maybe having a rom that is designed for here would solve the issue.
The thing is that i9515 has different WiFi and Bluetooth modules... I don't think it would work, it would probably work partially

Hm. So the rom would load, but it's not really close enough to run cleanly, it sounds like. Different WiFi and Bluetooth is enough to call it "Value Edition"? There aren't enough different models and sub-models of the Galaxy line out there, they had to tweak radios just to make another one? Sometimes (many times) I just don't understand their logic.
Any other differences to note that you know of?
Yes... That the value edition has no development... I had a i9505 before, (now deep in the sea, rest in peace) now it seems to be a bit smoother, WiFi is more stable... But maybe just because it's a new device... The rest is exactly the same to me...

Maybe I should just break down and take it to the Samsung repair center and see what they can do with the GPS, then. Unless you have any ideas...? The problem (which I posted elsewhere looking for assistance) is that only if I disconnect/reconnect the GPS antenna, then the GPS works well for about a day. Then it goes dead until I disconnect/reconnect the antenna again. When it works, it's great. But I can't keep that up. I need to find a fix or get rid of the phone. (Maybe move to the OnePlus. My son just got one and he's very happy with it.)
Have you already tried restoring Phone with Factory reset etc? No other i9505 works?
+1
Just a final followup to close the thread - I wound up doing a total system clean wipe - delete dalvik, cache, system, data - everything, and then did a clean install of Optimized CM 12.1 (custom ROM here on the board), and everything sprang back to life. So there evidently were no hardware issues and now the phone works as it should, GPS locks in quickly, etc. No need to dump it and replace it. Happy Ending.

i9505 sim removed real fix
I have found the permenant fix underneath the sim/sd module there is a tiny ic Labeled KML05 some say reflowing the connector works but its cause its so close to the actual ic thats the reason it worked now there is 2 ways with a tooth pick apply the tinyest amount of flux around the chip and with a hot air reflow gun using lowest air and 300c keep it moving in circles around 1.5cm above the ic for a minute time yourself try the phone out if it dont work it needs replacing £2.99 on ebay U203 ic i9505 follow same procedure to remove and refit
I just newly registered so wont allow me to post the picture of the ic so message me or email me [email protected]

Nougat Custom ROM (AOSP based and GtrCraft builds preferred) users, please come here!

Hey guys! I'm trying to understand on which stock ROM you have flashed a Nougat custom ROM.
Personally, I'm on the latest RETEU 6.0.1 MPDS24.107-52-5 + January security patch (I don't remember, maybe 107-70) and I run AospExtended 4.3 with Optimus kernel r21.
So... what's your base firmware? Is it all ok?
I am using the combination you read in my signature. I have to disable HW overlays after every restart in order to have full screen video and stock camera working right. Except those, the device is faster and i love it.

And what is the stock ROM you have on the base?
Hm, didn't notice that part of your question from my tablet. If it may be of any help, i was using stock mm 6.0.1 but i erased system, data, cache and dalvik (clean installation) prior flasing the AOSiP 6.0.

The latest? And which version? European, Asian...
This one: XT1562_LUX_RETASIA_DS_6.0.1_MPDS24.107-52-5_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC (which i used to convert it from single sim to dual sim). There is also a newer one, you can find it here.

Want to find a fix to all custom ROM's bootlooping on my SM-J320FN (did not bootloop before)

Want to find a fix to all custom ROM's bootlooping on my SM-J320FN (did not bootloop before)
[
or alternatevly, i was wondering if modifying a some samsung galaxy SM-J320[something] nougat rom, to work on SM-J320FN would be possible (it has only android5.1.1 (lollipop) stock rom as far as im aware and i have searched quite a lot).
]
The thing is, i have the SM-J320FN (twrp and rooted) and for a while i ran various custom roms (based on nougat) on it with no problems. But then about a year ago it bootlooped on resurrection remix (which i had ran with not many problems for 1/2year). Then every custom rom (i tried RR, DotOS, ViperOS and more) began to give me a bootloop, only flashing the stock rom booted.
I wiped and formated everything i could, tried same country stock rom that i had originally and a different country one (thinking maybe the custom roms were not happy with something inside the stock rom that it was flashed after, but logically it does not seem even possible, as before flashing the custom one, the old one is wiped), but custom rom's just did not boot anymore. I could not log the boot either because it had boot animation but nothing showed in adb, i guess it did not get so far that it could connect with adb.
I suspect this may be caused by my camera not working (some hardware part most likely got damaged), because i think wiping my phone completely and flashing stock rom with Odin should restore every software part on the phone thus it would have to be something with hardware that's causing custom roms to bootloop, how else could the problem persist (i obviously might be wrong).
I don't remember when exactly the camera stopped working but i know for a fact that i had a custom rom at the same time, and it did not bootloop (for some time at least) and im also curious why this has not ever stopped the stock rom from booting if it is the case.
So basically what i wish i could do are two things. Firstly find what makes the stock roms able to boot correctly opposed to the custom ones. And secondly implement this to a similar models higher version rom or a custom rom (Nougat). Come to think of this, it seems a useful step to look how did the people that made these Nougat based rom's for SM-J320FN modify the rom so that it could run on it, the source code is open after all.
Why i want to have a higher android version on my phone? Because my countrys corona close contact detection app supports only 6.0 or higher and my banking app recently notified me that they will soon end support for my android version too (this is the real pusher for me as i use it very frequently and there is not really an alternative). And it would be nice to have some other apps too, that not compatible with Lollipop.
And yes, i know, just buying a newer phone would solve all my problems But im a minimalistic (and without money) person. The fact that i own a phone that is still working (or fixable) stops me mentally from buying a new one. Also as one would guess, i like tinkering with this kind of stuff (i study CS currently) and building a rom myself for my phone sounds like a cool and challenging project, as i have not done anything like this before (maybe this will help me: [guide]how to build/modify roms for samsung devices [7.0/6.0.1/maybe more]).
Anyways, i kinda got carried away with this post. But for now im tired and have to sleep so i'll just post this and will come back later to read this over, fix some mistakes (not a native english speaker) and add things i maybe missed.
If anyone read this through, im impressed and if you have the knowledge/time to answer then i Thank You in advance!
i need help i tried to install re dreaux but my phone bootloop on touch wiz custom rom so how can i fix that
