Hi all, since I had Xperia Z3 before, I am wondering what happened to the SIP client that was integrated in Stock Sony firmware. I am currently running .292 Nougat version of XC, and there are no Phone account or Internet/SIP accounts settings in either Phone app or Settings... any clues?
Well, after a short research, I can answer myself The SIP calling feature is not available for all regions. So for example if you flash German firmware, the SIP calling is disabled or not present (but you can install any 3rd party SIP client), but if you install for example Central European firmware, the SIP settings are available in Phone / Call settings...

Further research showed, that it takes just to delete Phone Settings Overlay apk from OEM (/oem) parition, and the SIP Account settings are available also on German (Telekom) software...
Can you elaborate?
How do you delete the apk? What is the full path to the apk? Do you replace it with something else?

You can check, if it is the same as for the Z5C. There the problem is solved:

I receive my HD mini Swiss multilingual version installed in French.
When I try to open the e-mail edition vimdows, it does nothing.
I configured the e-mail in IMAP4 with Gmail parameters.
I saw that some other swiss guys have the same issue. Do some one else experiment this issue ?

It happened once to me and have to do hard reset.
It's uk version

Nevertheless, it seems that it create a special folder on SD card for E-mail.
It is called "email-anlage" but that is German not French and perhaps is the main raison why it does not work.
Do some one know the name of this folder in French I would try to rename it.

This is a continuation of this thread. It is now possible to send SMS over IP with VoIP operators that support SMS gateway using SIP messages (mainly betamax companies like 12voip, voipraider, voipbuster, poivy, ...). No special gui is needed, you can just use the regular HTC Messaging.
This involves replacement of the sms.dll system file, so USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Installation:
1- Install the attached cab file on the device or the storage card and confirm reset when finished
2- After reset run SMSoIP Config before sending any sms
3- Fill in the parameters as follows:
SIP Server: SIP server address (eg: sip.voipraider.com, sip.smartvoip.com, ...)
Username: <your username>
Password: <your password>
Caller ID: <your phone number verified with your voip provider> This is required for the receiving party to see your number
Country Code: <international tel code of your country> This is required if you have numbers not stored in international format, also to detect if the destination is international or not. (eg: 90 for Turkey, 32 for Belgium, ...) Note: If you have the latest HTC messaging in your rom, you need to use +90 or +32, ...
Option: Choose the behavior you want
Auto Connect: Enable if you want auto data connection. This might result in additional charges with your gsm provider
Enable Debug: Enable debug popups if you have problems
Note: For people who have the latest HTC messaging
v1_8_20161228_00, you need to select CDMA as Sending network in messaging options for some reason

Just uninstall the old one, install the new one, reboot and configure.

does it allow an option of sending method ? carrier sms or voipsms ?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I used to use this with a 6.5.x ROM that didn't have Sense nor the HTC Messaging. Either way I think it should be safe to just backup your sms.dll (maybe the program even does this for you, I don't really remember that) and try this. I don't have my Winmo phone to check anymore, sorry.

What about editing the build.prop system file?
Afaik, the system locale is part of the ROM. You cannot simply edit build.prop, if the menus and labels loaded in the ROM do not include your locale. This is different for apps - those package their locales, and would convert easily.
I think you will need to wait until somebody comes out with a ROM that includes your locale of choice. And/or wait until Atrix comes out in Germany, and a recovery ROM/tool for Germany is available. (Possibly from Moto website, but I would not count on it.)

Anyone know how to change the region of china dev rom to India. My google services are not working properly due to chinese location. Eventhough changing the region in google app setting feeds are not working. Also the assistant voice is english-uk no option to change it. And i think the voice recognition is not accurate due to this.
Is there any way to change the region in ROM itself.
You simply can't. Chinese rom is for china. If you need to change the region, go for the Global version...

Hey,
First of all you have to root your phone.
Then install Prop editor.
Then go to:
/cust/cust.prop
There you will see some codes like
ro.miui.region=CN
ro.miui.mcc=9404
ro.miui.mnc=9999
ro.miui.cust_variant=eu
Now to change to global, you have to replace the above codes with the following codes:
persist.sys.timezone=Asia/Calcutta
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
ro.miui.region=IN
ro.miui.mcc=9404
ro.miui.mnc=9999
ro.miui.cust_variant=in
OR
Change the content of the /cust/current/cust.prop with the values from country specific locale and reboot.
your locale/region will become permanent.
