[MOD] [ROOT] UK Stock Lollipop IR Remote Control App - Xperia Z2 Tablet General

I installed the latest lollipop ROM I could download the FTF for and rooted it and this was the Japanese one. Unfortunately the presets for the remote app suck and didn't support any of my LG devices or my Sky box. I downloaded the O2 FTF and extracted the IR Remote files from it, then I deleted the ir files and folders on my device, cleared Dalvik and corpses using sd maid, then rebooted, then copied the UK remote files into the system folder (needs root) and rebooted again. Now I have the latest android lollipop ROM with root and a working remote app. If you are having trouble deleting any ir remote overlay apks (I had three) from the vendor folder you can use the file explorer in TWRP.
I tried the remote files from the other UK FTF first by the way, but as it's a marshmallow rom the app just crashed.
Anyway, I zipped up the files and uploaded them here.

System Wallpaper

System Wallpaper for 4.2.2 Samsung S4 resides in its own APK file located at /system/app/SecWallpperChooser.apk
I rooted my Canadian (Koodo) S4 with Mottochopper No problems all went smoothly I replaced the SuperUser that mottochopper installed with SuperSu just a personal preference then I installed root explorer and began a search for the wallpapers as I like to tinker and see what I can do. I located the apk in the directory I have lined out for you. I copied the file to my external SD card then copied it to my Computer. I have kept an original copy on my computer just in case things did not work out. I then opened the apk file with 7Zip and extracted the photos out of the folder ...SecWallpaperChooser.apk\res\drawable-sw359dp-xxhdpi\ I replaced the photos with my own exact same size and all then put back in loction on phone and voila they became my wallpaper gallery

[Q] TWRP flash failed

Hi.
I have LG G2 32gb, D802, 5.0.2 V30a, rooted + TWRP.
When I flash some zip files TWRP says that everything is okay, but did not.
Apps that I flashed crashes when power on the phone.
I noticed that Root browser don't see that flashed files at all. ES file explorer see files but not as it should be. And size of files is 0.
Look screenshot from ES file explorer.
Looks like ordinary theme apks ?
Just install through es file explorer or any other file manager. OR flash the zips (if it's flashable at all) through twrp directly.
Did you read what I wrote? I flashed zips through twrp but files not flashed properly. Not just themes, and other files too.
Size of files is 0:00 B. Root Browser can't see them at all, ES file explorer see them but not as folders, as it should be.
Were those any flashable zips for your D802 LP? Or just normal zipped file..?
It also can be possible the files flashed weren't compatitable with your ROM. U better try asking in the thread from which U tried flashing these Themes.
And everything u flash is giving u error? Any popular keyboard zip (G3 keyboard for G2) or Tried flashing Dorminax Kernel for D802?? Do they flashe successfully?
I found files on this page:
http://sccn.vn/threads/app-lg-g4-port-for-g2-new-update-1-6-2015-other-device-tested.10437/
I did not try keyboard and kernel because I don't need that.
I just wanted G4 smart notice and home...
Themes are part of LG Home flashable zip.
I asked where I found apps, and all zips working fine for them.
When I copy themes and LG home with Root browser then works fine.
Do you have some flashable zip for G2 5.0.2, to try? Keyboard or something that 100% works for me?

SM-G9280 (China carrier) Google blocked, what to do?

I bought a SM-G9280 (dual simcard) in China. I want to use it without having Google (play store and such) blocked.
What I want to do is change the firmware so that all the default apps are in English and the restrictions set by the phone (ie. app blocks) are gone. I have already unlocked the phone. Do I then download the firmware from sammobile and then root the firm via instructions from theandroidsoul.com/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s6-edge-plus-83360
Will this work? Thoughts?
I continue to have success with firmware G9280ZCU2AOK6 along with Chainfire's AutoRoot. I separately delete some of the apps embedded and modify some of the xml files in the system and data directories, but not sure if that's essential.
After rooting, I load market unlocker, busy box, and root explorer (get .apks from apkmirror.com).
Get the three primary google apks from Gapps.com or other location - Google Play services, Google services framework and google play store (often named "vending"). Using SideSync and Root Explorer, move those three files into the /system/apps (or priv-apps) directory, change the permissions for each of the three to rw-r--r--. Then go to /system/data/dalvik-cache and delete each of the subfolders there. Reboot into recovery mode, wipe the cache partition, and then reboot system. You should be good to go. Make sure to use market unlocker app to change your market if needed.
If you have trouble along the way, the best way to reset is not to do a factory wipe and full firmware install with odin - I've extracted the pieces from the full firmware file and selectively flash with Odin when I run into trouble. If the recovery mode fails, flash only the recovery.tar file (using the AP field). If the system itself is stuck in reboot loop, I try to flash just system.tar - neither of those deletes your apps or data, and preserves the root. To do this, extract recovery.img and system.img. Then use a tar program (I use peazip) to create a .tar file from each of those sources. You can then flash the applicable .tar by itself using the AP field. Good luck!
(note this is not a full step-by-step, just the key pieces to get there - Skyneel and other posts on xda have comprehensive guides which I won't try to recreate)

built-in Marshmallow file manager does not install APK

I not able to install APK with with built-in Marshmallow file manager.
When trying, it says "can't open file".
APK files are located in Internal Memory (tried SD Storage, too).
Had to download 3d-party file manager (Solid Explorer) via Google Play, Solid Explorer installs APK no problem.
What can be a problem? Permissions?

How to flash and get stock changed .bin to .zip update file on Fire TV

First of all, you need to navigate to Total Commander, whichever file explorer that has root functionality and go to the root folder /data/ota_package to get the official stock rom. You also need root permissions to transfer this update file to the download folder so please refer to an Magisk installation page to properly flash in recovery. Push this .bin of the update after it downloads, cut and paste it to the downloads folder, rename the .bin of the .bin update file to .zip (Don't install the update in settings) then reboot into TWRP and flash it. I will provide the stock update image shortly for the latest version which is 6.2.7.1 on the Fire TV Stick 4K. This works on any Fire TV that's unable to update through the main ota page in settings. If you'd rather wait for a prerooted rom, go to @rbox for the latest updates. Thank you, let me know if there's any problems!
