Facing the same issue. My phone shuts down automatically after reaching 15℅. Upon restarting the battery shows to be 3 or 4℅.
Using AOSPEx on Nougat. It wasn't a problem till I upgraded to N. I'm guessing whatever's causing this is also causing the abnormal battery drain issue as well. But haven't been able to find a solution to either yet.

Helo,
I have AT&T Tilt. It started to report strange problem. It displays a message "To prevent possible data loss, replace or recharge your battery according to the owner's manul" and doesn not see the battery (or its level).
After that phone won't charge until a restart (when for a few moments it recognises battery level).
Did anyone had similar problem, or can help me.
Many thanks.

Could be a problem with the battery. Pretty sure there is a chip in it to report its level

+1. I had this happen on my first discharge. I had to charge it for about 15 minutes before I could actually turn on my phone.
happened to me as well.. keep it charged.
I had the same problem yesterday.
Charge the battery (while keeping the xperia off) and then turn on your xperia.
Hey guys.
My first post ever, so please bare with me.
I made a big mistake updating to 4.4.2 coz I've had only problems since that. I have a rooted SM-N9005 with a Danish carrier. I have read and read and read for at fix, but can't seem. to find on. . My problem is this.. I can have a fully charged battery, unplug the phone and can, by using the power button, turn the phone off and on again. BUT if I pull the battery out and insert it again after 10 sec, then the phone doesn't turn on. It only turns if it gets the power cord in again. That's the first problem.
The second on is the battery drain. I have done a dalvik clean, cache partition clean, factory reset, soft reset, hard reset, uinstalled pretty much every app that I have... nothing helps. I even bought a new battery.
Can you guys help me or guide me in the right direction on what to do??
Thank you in advance
Can't help with your first problem, sorry.
How quickly is your battery draining? Can you post a screenshot? And more details - custom/stock ROM, kernel etc.
You can try and pin down what is the biggest battery hog with Better Battery Stats.

Hey B3311
Thanks for the reply
A couple of screen shots. Even when using BBS I haven't been able to pin point the exact cut print
Dreadful drain indeed....
Can you see what's under "partial wakelocks" and "kernel wakelocks" in BBS?
You had wifi on but still huge drain when the screen was off and the phone was asleep, hence I'm thinking wakelock - something is stopping your phone from sleeping. But you need BBS or Wake Lock Detector to pin it down.
They can be a ***** to find, but can be zapped.

Go to Settings-wifi-advance until scanning always available
Hey Jdomadia
Pretty much everything is off.. data . GPS.. Bluetooth and so on.. I'm still wondering if my problem is due to the power button issue that I'm having
Hi Bro i had the same problem the source of it is the developper option just desable them from settings and every thing will be normal again i hope that works for you too
Hey Abdel310
That never cross my mind. Better Google how to disable them once I have enabled them. Bro, I tried everything so I'm gonna try this straight away!!
Just did it, and man if that helps I'll be the happiest camper you'll ever see
i had the same problem i left my phone fully charged and i go to sleep and at the morning i found it off and 0 % battery and no apps runnig just try it and full charg it and it will not drain battery at lest in the sleep mode
Sadly disabling the developer option didn't fix the problem..
it still drain battery in sleep mode ?
the latest screen shots from better battery stats. I can't find any partial wake lock that seems to cause the drain
It's starting to sound more like a malfunctioning battery itself. Especially considering your first issue.
Have you tried a different battery?
Also try it without the SIMcard. A malfunctioning SIM can also cause these issues. (Happened to me back on 4.3. Drained 12%/h, not a single wakelock and 98% deep sleep. No SIM, no drain. New SIM fixed it.)
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk 2
So here is the latest update.. I found out that even when the phone is off, like shut down the phone drains the battery. had to phone to a complete charge, shut off the phone and left it alone.. during the night the battery was drained... and it's a brand new battery

If you can get your hands on another battery, just to test, try that (could be you bought a bummer battery) Do you have any friends with Note 3 you can swap batteries with just to see what it does?
Hey Burtcom
tanks for the reply. I can't believe that it's the battery, without knowing for sure. I'm still wondering if my problem is due to the power button issue.. as I mentioned, if I remove a fully charged battery from the phone and reinsert it, then the phone won't turn on. it will only turn on with a power cord.
Now my phone drains the battery even when the phone is off.. like completely turn off.
Hello, I have a problem with my phone for a while, it overheats a lot, and the battery is empty in 1 hour, I noticed that I have also since a problem with the WIFi (no longer works) I replaced the battery , changed rom, always the same, someone would have a solution.
If not how to disable the reception in wifi (hardware) I think my phone is still looking for network and this could explain the overheating and fast emptying of the battery
Thank you for your comments and solutions
Nobody has any suggestions to make to me?
I have faced the same issue before. It seems that it was caused by overheating. There is no way for me to fix the problem. There was a post talking about the overheating issue which caused broken wifi.
You may have a look on the link below. It gives some solutions for repairing the wifi but they don't work for me. Hope it will help you.

thank you very much
I have tried all the solutions, it overheats ++ and the battery is empty very very quickly

The drainage of battery is caused by the wifi keeping switching on and off, which also causing overheat. If the solutions don't work for you, the only way is replacing the motherboard.
Battery stuck on 50% won't change even when charge or discharge. Today it randomly shutdown in my pocket. and then had a battery symbol with a ?. The phone eventually turned on, I've tried turning off location, rebooting still having issues. Sometimes the battery saving mode stops working, i.e. it cannot be turned on. As I can see the problem concerns a large group of users and nobody knows what this problem is related to. Google is silent as usual. Is this a problem with the software or components ?! I am in a bad situation because I have no warranty for the device and I do not know where to send the phone in Poland because no one knows what is the cause of the problem. Help me please.

I wanted to chime in and say I am also having this issue. It has to be related to latest update? Anyways, I tried the squeeze trick and HOLY **** it worked! Thanks for that! Went from showing 50% to 93%. I would like to see Google's response. This issue the last few days has had me frustrated...enough to pre-order for an S20 Ultra and getting $600 for this POS. I was also experiencing random shutdowns, etc. I am going to continue to monitor this and will update if anything changes.
also you can try to factory reset.
Cheers, Hope this helps
That "fix" doesn't actually work unfortunately

do you just charge it up again when it shuts off at 50%? keep trying to drain the battery till it hits 0% just keep turning the phone on Everytime it shuts off. if you ever get to the point where it wont turn on anymore. charge the phone to 100% without turning the phone on. once it reaches to 100%, unplug the phone and turn it on. discharge the phone all the way to 0% and repeat the process at least 2 or 3 times. this will hopefully reset the battery stats. also clear the storage on the "device health services" app. battery stats are also kept in here

Actually I'm just setting up the warranty replacement handset that Google sent me. This is a hardware issue, not fixable with reboots or software. The new phone works great. Old one is still stuck saying 50%
I had the same issue and the repair was covered by Google, even though my phone is about 15 months old.
