Bettery isue on AT&T Tilt - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

Helo,
I have AT&T Tilt. It started to report strange problem. It displays a message "To prevent possible data loss, replace or recharge your battery according to the owner's manul" and doesn not see the battery (or its level).
After that phone won't charge until a restart (when for a few moments it recognises battery level).
Did anyone had similar problem, or can help me.
Many thanks.

Could be a problem with the battery. Pretty sure there is a chip in it to report its level

Battery Drain, even when off :/

Hi all,
Hope you may have some ideas.
Both me and my partner have HTC HD2's, We share the same docking station for Charging etc. My phone, is sound as a pound. Has never skipped a beat.
My Partners one however, is causing a myriad of issues. the main one being now is Battery drain, even when the device is turned off.
Last night for example, It was in the doc in the evening - being on 100% when removed from the dock, put it on the nightstand, and switched if off... powered it up this morning, it only had 4% Battery!
We have swapped batteries, and this issue still occurs with both batteries, but only when attached to her device. I know the Cable is sound etc as we both use the same dock.
Does anyone have any ideas whats going on as its not a direct Battery issue?

Some info on system used (WM or Android) could be helpful, anyway as the first place to start I'd suggest using battery current app: BattClock (for WM) or Battery Monitor Widget (for Android), so you can check if the drain stops after disabling some system functions (like weather sync in WM/Sense),
I remember seeing quite a few threads on this here on xda, maybe searching the forum will return some useful links

The Drain on the battery is on par with my HD2 - as stated, its when the device is off (not standby) that the drain occurs.
The Drain happens on both WM and Android, but the OS is probably irelevant as it occurs when the device is switched off.

there's always a slight chance of hardware defect, or defective battery, but since there is no easy way of checking this (apart for switching the batteries on your devices), I'd rather start with checking the software side:
- monitoring battery current works perfectly for standby mode - the meter is updated at intervals (usually 1 minute),
- the first figure you see after turning the device on is the battery current consumption in standby,
- this figure usually should not exceed 10mA, if it is higher, especially in above 50mA, then it's the moment for checking with app/setting is causing the increased consumption,
- the steps taken now depend on the system used on the device, there are different things to check/uninstall/turn off under WM and under Android
Same problem

I have exactly this problem on my HD2 with android. I normally have my Sensation XE but now i wanted to make the HD2 to work smoothly and give it to my father in law.
I don't remember i had this problem before. Did you found a solution?
And as you said, the device is completely turned off, not "stand by".
Cheers!
I've had the same problem, with the side effect also being the phone randomly forcing itself into car mode. Might be a short in your USB port. Clean it and it might help.
Sounds like the battery giving up. Can you test another battery. They are cheap enough on eBay. Mine was not great got a gold business battery on ebay for it. Lasts ages now

what you mean by gold business battery?
And if its better than stock htc battery then can you give me the link for it plz ?
Maybe it is a radio issue. When I flashed different radios on my HD2, some would give me bad battery life, and other would fix the issue.
Check for shorts and clean your usb port.. as se1988 said

I have one like in he link below. It's a high capacity battery worked for me. Would say it's also a good idea to just make sure all your connections are clean to eliminate a short.

[Q] Galaxy S plus (GT-i9001) suddenly reboots

Hi,
My SGS+ suddenly shuts down (edit: its not actually rebooting as the title proclaims, I'm sorry). This happens at random moments. I'm thinking this is to blame about the battery, let me explain why: I pull my SGS+ off the charger and just use it. After a while, with the battery at 97% for instance, it suddenly shuts down. After rebooting my battery level is below 10%. When recharging, it recharges within 15 minutes back to a 100%. I've wiped the batt stats several times but this doesn't solve the problems I'm experiencing.
Any one knows what might be up here?

There's no swelling and no oxidization, but I've ordered a new original pack anyways.
Hi,
I have the exact same issue you describe. Did changing your battery fix the issue? It would be great to know if this is the cause or not...
Thanks!

Battery readings going completely wild

So recently my phone (unrooted unmodded N910C) battery is being extremely weird. When I try to charge my phone, it sometimes doesn't go beyond around 70-90% but if I take out the battery and put it back in, it shows 100%. It sometimes also shuts off on its own at around 40% and when I plug in a charger, it shows sometimes 0% and sometimes 40% (but if I turn it on, it still says 0%). I've tried a lot of things, including discharging completely and recharging to 100% (powered off), factory reset, clearing cache, and quick starting battery and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have similar problems and has anyone found a solution to this?
The problem is the battery ... the catode pin inside battery is not working properly. The motherboard of the phone it just reading the voltage and temperature of the battery. Your percentage shown on status bar is based on what current intensity is received from battery. So just replace the battery... esxuse my poor english

Are you sure it's the battery? I took it out and everything looks normal, including the pins. Also, battery apps said that my battery health was good or should I not trust them at all? I just don't want to buy an extra battery if the problem is not with the battery.
I meant the catode pin inside battery not outside. It's your call if you buy a battery or not. I just writed here how the proces work because i have fixed lot of motherboard i knowing about this i have explained to you. Cheers
i have the same problem too and i tested every things and now i am really tire , i dont think thats problem was the battery , can anybody help me plz?
Had similar problem yes new battery at the samsung store the assistant said many note 4 batteries selling I got the last one. Maybe we got a bad batch or its deliberate. Maybe we could do a survey how many people have had to buy a new battery
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA-Developers mobile app
I also posted a similar problem. In my case the problem is more alarming, because it's happening in two different batteries, one of them is rather new and fresh. It seems that it started out of the blue, I did not make any major change in the phone.
I am still investigating the issue, I'll be back with more observations.
Just an update on my situation: I bought a new battery and now the battery readings seem to be fine.
I had the same problem as you OP. The problem was definitely the battery for me at least. Bought a new one just the other week and now everything is working perfectly
If the affected battery is under warranty get it replaced for free. Or if the problem does not get solved after cross checking many possibilities. Just buy a new battery. Simple. Good luck.

i9505 Battery Problem

Hello,
I have quite an unusual problem - haven't found anyone having similar problem online.
I bought this phone used off a friend, who had this problem on stock as well, I flashed custom 5.1.1 and the problem persists (I thought that custom ROM would help).
I am really happy about this phone, it's just that one battery bug, which does bother me - bothers me to the point that I'm thinking of getting rid of this phone.
Basically, the when the battery is discharging, say it goes down to 95%, stop using my phone, switch off the screen.
Then after a couple minutes the battery goes up to say 97%. It's happening all the time until the phone is discharged.
Looks like the battery is miscalibrated and it doesn't read the % properly.
Although if it was really not calibrated properly, then the % wouldn't go up after a couple minutes, it would just discharge and things like that would probably happen at 10%-20%
Things that did not help:
- Discharging it from 100%-0%, recharging etc.
- Battery Calibration from Play Store
- New Battery - I bought a new, original battery for 100% (NFC works on it)
- Reflash
If someone has any idea on to fix that - I would really appreciate it.

It can't be fixed because it's not a problem.
Happens to me all the time. If I use my phone intensively, then leave it idle, it can charge itself up to 10% without it even being plugged in.
This happened on my old LG and it happens on the S4, and it probably happens on other phones too.
I don't think the percentage is an accurate representation of the battery level, it's more of an estimation.

Okay, I see.
Although I've had HTC HD2, S2, S3, and I've never experienced something like that. Never.
If something similar happened, there was an easy fix for it - new battery or recalibration.
Nothing worked for me just yet this time.
I am that kind of person that needs everything working 100%, that's why I am really annoyed with this problem.

As I was saying, it is not a problem per se, just an annoyance for you.
The only way to fix this would be to turn off the percentage display

Sudden battery drop, 70%-->0%, on newly replaced battery

I have replaced my battery with what should be an original battery for the Huawei P8 GRA-L09, battery nr: HB3447A9EBW.
After having assembled the phone again I experience some weird issues with the battery level dropping from 50%, 60%, 70% or even 100% in an instant. I have tried calibrating the battery by letting it die completely, recharge to 100%, let it drain completely again and recharge to 100%. I have tried different battery calibration apps and a factory reset - nothing helps.
I contacted the company I bought the battery from and got a replacement - still same issue.
Unfortunately i damaged the original battery when taking it out, so i cant use that as a reference.
All stats seems to be similar on the new batteries as on the old one, but for some reason the width of the new battery is a few millimeters smaller than the old one, meaning that it does not fill out the space completely. Has anyone else experienced the same?
Any suggestions on what my problem might be will be most appreciated!

Yeah, my replacement battery was also smaller than the original one. Also, I was getting sudden drops from 9 percent to 0 in a minute. After disabling Huawei Perfhub (Root access required), the drops were gone.

Do you have any idea what is happening, why disabling the Perfhub works/are necessary?
Want I loose other functionalities when disabling the Perfhub?

I guess, they are trying to do some kind of trottling by showing unreal percentages. Something like what Apple did with the iPhone 6.

Yeah that might be, but if that is the case that trottling has gone terribly wrong on my phone.
Can you give me a hint on how you disabled the Performance Hub?

Rename /system/bin/perfhub file to something else and test. If it works (Doesn't work always), you will see a slightly different battery stats page.
How can I locate the perfhub file, It looks like there is no such directory in my mobile's memory?
