I am currently on Rr5.8 Official. But i have a lot of problems with my folders....
In Es Filexplorer, i can access /storage/emulated/0 for a minute or so. But then they folder goes empty.
I cannot Save pictures, recordings or download throgh Chrome/ADM/Play store.
I probably screwed something up when trying to pass safetynet. Installed magisk. Isu. Suhide and fooled around with a lot of stuff...
What i'we tried:
Reflashed/updated the rom. (Dirty from TWRP, with factory reset/wipe)
Tried to chmod 777 on "/" "/sdcard" "/system/storage" etc...
Fixed all filesystems in TWRP
Tried to Mount the folder/s from the terminal.
I'we asked in the official thread for the ROM. But it seems like i'm the only one with this problem.
I just reflashed RR5.8 official. Since the nightly didnt work well. No root installed exept for the one included in dev options.
Edit: Back on Nightly, Same problem... To install apps i need to start the DL, Restart the phone and cross my fingers that i get the apk before my access disappears.

What BL&CP have you got? Which 910 variant? Do you have Last TWRP 3.0.2.0?
Did you clean wipe including internal storage?
You didnt flash supersu after flashing Rom + Gapps (7.1 ARM Nano) right?
using 910G / RamRom N7_V1

I don't understand the question. Baseband and kernel? N910FXXU1DPE2 // 3.10.40-LineageOS.
No, havent cleaned the internal Storage. Since all apps and stuff still works i assume it's another problem, and don't wanna do a complete wipe unless i know it helps.
No, no SuperSu or anything like it, i kept the old Gapps, which are still working :S

If i understood you well despite you didn't clean the Internal storage, you wiped System/Data/Cache/Dalvik or did you just dirty flashed the ROM?
You can try to repair files system in TWRP -> WIPE -> ADVANCED WIPE
Looking at your CP version, your Bootloader might be old. You can try to upgrade it to the last N910FXXU1DPL2. I don't know if it will help.

Yes, since all apps worked worked when i just updated the ROM. I Didnt wipe this time.
I had to do a facroty reset/wipe when upgrading once before but that didn't help either. So i suppose that isnt the problem.
Dunno about the bootloader, i had to unlock it to be able to flash twrp/RR5.8.
I'll try to update it tomorrow.
And i tried to repair the filesystem, no go :/
Might as well do a backup and Reflash the phone from ODIN with RR5.8. And wipe everything.
I can reach the internal storage from a PC tho. Thats even stranger.
Edit: Well. I figured something out. I got access of /data/media/0, but /storage/emulated/0 doesn't seem to be they same folder :S it should point to /data/media/0 If i'm not completly wrong?
This is some strange bullcrap... :E
If i remount /data/media/0 to /storage/emulated/0, it looks OK in they terminal, until i reeboot. Bit Es still ser the folder as empty, and i can't dl or save data -.- not enough free space for screenshots etc... Still need to restart my phone to download or upgrade apps

[Q] TWRP backup fails on data partition "E: Unable to stat /data/data/../cache/ .. "
Whenever I try a full nandroid backup in TWRP it always fails once it gets a few hundred files into the data partition. However, it does complete the backup when the data partition isn't selected.
When I first start the backup a bunch of different red error messages come up for various cache files in the data partition.
"E: Unable to stat '/data/data/[variousapp]/cache/[stuff]/[hashvalue?]' "
I've got a rooted T-Mobile Note 3 with Jedi Elite ROM and TWRP 2.8.1.0, however I'm not completely sure that my phone is legitimately rooted. If I try to open the SuperSU app it says "There is no SuperSU binary installed,...", and applications constantly achieve root access then get denied it moments later. Or sometimes the applications achieve root access with no further issues, it's quite random.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?
EDIT: It also should be noted that the files in the error messages can be found when using the TWRP file manager, but when using any file manager application with the OS booted the "/data" folder appears empty.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks
Well.... from the top of my head I would try to do these things:
1) install one of those "check to see if I am rooted" apps and run it.
2) flash a kernel that has been prerooted, i.e.:that it installs the SU binary to the appropriate location.
3) flash one of those .zip packages in twrp that root your phone.
4) check to see if you can make twrp install root for you ( i think when it doesn't detect root binary it offers to do that).
5) reinstall rom only part as a last resort?
Once you restore proper root access you might need to restore proper SELinux labels to /cache /system /data.
Let me know if you get to this part and need specific instructions.
Best of luck

I flashed the latest SuperSU.zip and that ended up fixing root access. The Root Checker app verifies it as well as other applications being granted root access.
I tried flashing CF-Auto-Root in TWRP and it fails.
How do I restore the SELinux labels for those directories?
You caught me on my way to bed but here are the instructions:
From terminal or adb shell
su
ll -Z
(check for any "unlabeled" text for /data /cache /system)
restorecon -Rv /cache
restorecon -Rv /data
mount -o remount,rw /system
restorecon -Rv /system
mount -o remount,ro /system
ll -Z (you should not find any "unlabeled" /cache /data /system)
Let me know how it goes
I tried all those commands from the terminal and it still shows all of the same "Unable to stat" error messages when backing up
The "ll -Z" command, is that supposed to be double pipe or double L? I'd never seen a double L command before so I couldn't get it to work if that's what it is.
Sorry to budge in but I have the same problem too on my oneplus one. Everytime I do something in twrp it saids unable to stat /data/data/com.android.chrome/something I wiped /data and it still does that. I tried to install custom rom and when it starts it saids something is wrong with my system udi and com.android.phone keeps on crashing. So I don't know how I am suppose to fix this. If I format /data I will lose all my pictures, music, apps, etc. since it will wipe /data/media? Any help?
Edit: Upon reading the first post again, I also can't perform nandroid backup because it fails at /data. Which was why I wanted to try different rom and wipe /data to see if it would be fixed.

alright i said screw it and wiped internal storage and it fixed the issue. i had to push ROM onto the new storage through ADB but it seemed to fix the issue.
For anyone who is wondering you need to do a FULL wipe (ie in recovery wipe EVERYTHING including internal storage), then push or mount devices through recovery and put ROM back onto SD card.

Well you fixed it the easy way, I went to the thread on how to turn oneplus one back to stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
I unzipped the 44s Stock ROM and manually flashed each file via adb to it, that cleared up all my problems. I did lose some data, at least at had my apps, messages, and pictures backed up.

I have this same problem with my OPO and I tried a full wipe including internal storage, but the "unable to stat..." problem still persists. Should I try using the "Format Data" option on TWRP instead of just the "Advanced Wipe"? I tried searching online for the difference but I can't really find any information.

So I had my issue on my OPO also, still never confirmed what the actual issue was but after some googling I saw this thread and maybe one more with the same error description.
From TWRP I went Wipe->Advanced Wipe->Clicked ALL boxes.
From what I could tell the issue is actually on the "internal storage" partition which is your emulated SD Card.
I'm not actually sure what the "Format Data" option does tbh I never had to go that far.
Word of warning, make sure you have ADB working and you know how to push files to your phone. You can in theory use the "mount" option from TWRP and connect to a PC as an extendable drive but this functionality is super flaky and is known to not work on occasion.
you don't have to!!!!!!!!!!!
actually i formated it and i was looking for a way to transfer my zip file to internal storage ........... but when i clicked on backup/restore it started to install and booted normally !!!!!!!!!!!!! (by temp boot file)
Sad I am also facing this problem too. At last I have to format everything to get my phone working again, wiping /data does not work, must wipe /data including media.
Internal Storage failure?
This happens to me all the time all of a sudden. I did not change anything at all, except for flashing a new CM version.
I also get a strange stat error, something with google.photo cache.
Yesterday, I have then flashed the new 2.8.6(7) and that gave my phone the rest. It might be because I flashed through TWRP itself into the recovery partition, but now additional to the backup error above when I want to erase dalvik cache, the recovery just hangs. I also can't restore a backup atm.
Now I have reflashed the real 2.8.6.0 recovery and it still hangs when I want to wipe dalvik... wtf is going on here?
And oh yea, my phone does not boot anymore either, it just loops at the flash screen...
UPDATE:
After I found some info on this thread about similar issues, I factory reset my phone with stock recovery (TWRP was not reliable anymore, even the 2.8.6.0 version that was running perfectly before) and then reflashed the latest CM on a wiped internal storage. Now I am up and running again with minimal loss of data due to my TB backups that are scheduled and save to the SD.
But this leaves a very weird feeling back, basically my phone was rendered useless out of nowhere (I was running the previous CM for 2 weeks already), making TWRP backups impossible and forcing me to wipe the internal storage with all media on it without giving me the chance to back it up (MTP in TWPR was also very flaky and died several times half in copy operations). Something is going very wrong with this phone, never ever had that on any of my 5 previous htc devices and the fact that the OnePlusOne users are among the main ones that reported similar issues, I have a feeling it is linked to cheap storage quality. Motorola is a Chinese company now after all... :-/
Hello,
I had the same issue with my Galaxy s4 GT-I9500, it said "E: Unable to stat /data/...", wiping didn't fix, but after I run "format data", it fixed the issue for me.
I have been going through the same issue. I can fix it for 'a while' (by wiping and formatting data) before it comes back again. Anyone knows how to get rid of this once and for all?
Hi everyone,
Just got my new G6, after much pain I managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP (v3.2.1.0) and to root it with SuperSU (stable release 2.82).
For now I'll keep the stock rom but I wanted to make a backup in case something went wrong with other tweaking I might do and I couldn't because TWRP couldn't "mount /system (device or resource busy)".
So I went into the mount menu and tried checking system but it just won't. I can mount it as read only but I can't mount it as writable.
If it's of any importance, I couldn't get magisk to install to root the phone and had to use SuperSU instead.
I could do the backup while mounting system as read only but I feel like it might be an issue in the future (for custom roms or even restoring the backup maybe ?) if I can't fix this issue.
So does anyone how to get TWRP to mount system as writable ? Thank you

Have you formatted data trough the dedicated option in TWRP? Format, not wipe, where you have to put "yes".
Anyway you can try with Melina's TWRP which solves many problems of the official one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-unofficial-fixes-t3722199

I did try it once after the magisk install failed and I assumed it was because of that issue but I haven't tried yet with superSU correctly installed. Should I immediately try the backup after formatting or boot the phone once before ?
The issue I have with Melina's TWRP is that it's not compatible with fulmics and if I were to install any custom rom I think it would be that one (to keep stock camera mostly)

Format data, reboot recovery, and try to install magisk or mount system.
For Melina's TWRP it has NO problems with Fulmics, Zefie said that "officially" is not compatible because two users said that they have problems with that TWRP only with fulmics, i can assure you that with last version of both Melina's TWRP and Fulmics i never had problems like those two users, anyway you can try to use Melina's TWRP and if you have any problems just flash back the official twrp.

Alright so it's been a rough ride.
I formatted data, reboot TWRP and then indeed I was able to mount system as writable.
I then did my backup, which said it was successful and the only error it showed then was "unable to unmount /system"
I flashed magisk and rebooted into the normal system and the phone of course was back to factory settings and asked me my google account. Except that when I tried logging in it always showed me an error along the lines of "google play services keeps crashing". (making it impossible to get through the installation part of the system)
I'm not sure why that happened. I had frozen some apps but that shouldn't have been saved since I formatted data right ? and the phone was working perfectly fine before that.
But anyway I didn't really know what to do at that point so I just jumped the gun and downloaded and flashed fulmics.
It worked fine but only with supersu. For some reason magisk just doesn't want to get installed at all.
The rom itself worked fine but I had no root access by choosing magisk in the aroma installer so I wiped again and installed it again with supersu which works.
I also flashed xposed which is also working as intended.
So I'm all set for now I think.
Maybe when I need to wipe again I'll figure out why magisk doesn't work but for now I'm satisfied.
In any case, thank you for your help
Hi there, I have an Axon 7 with LineageOS that was working like a charm until I rebooted it today. It was in the normal lineage OS boot animation with the blue circle moving from right to left, except it never stopped. Now after trying a few more times, it just keeps playing the animation except the phone will vibrate slightly every several seconds. The phone is encrypted but that hasn't been a problem. When I reboot to TWRP, it says Unable to mount storage.
I tried wiping Cache and Dalvik / ART Cache, but this didn't help. Finally, I do have a backup from 7-20-2017 but I'd rather not have to go back to that...
Any recommendations?

So you can't see the internal storage from TWRP? I'm guessing encryption actually plays a part here. Formatting data is probably the best course of action, though you should flash magisk or superSu if you do, to get rid of encryption. But you obviously lose everything that's on the internal storage.
Maybe make a system and boot backup and clean flash Lineage. Like, wipe system and caches, then flash the bootloader, modem, LOS and whatever else you flash

Is it easier to just use the backup I have currently? If so, what are the steps necessary for that (sorry for newb questions, haven't messed with it in a while)
EDIT: Also, TWRP claims decryption is successful when it is loading up.

Again. Can you see the internal storage?
Don't restore the backup. Your problem is basically either on /system (clean flash of the ROM will do) or on /data (complete format of data is needed). So try the non destructive one first

I don't see any storage folder. So if I want to install the latest LOS and frankly just start from scratch, can I follow the guide here https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/axon7/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery starting from "Installing LineageOS from recovery"? Will I still need to install something to wipe the encryption?

What? No... That's for normal phones. How did you manage to install LOS without knowing that you need the univ. bootloader and modem?
So, you can't access the internal storage via the file manager on TWRP i'm guessing.
Wipe - Format data, after that flash the Universal bootloader, modem, LOS, Magisk, GApps. Magisk takes care of dm-verity and disables encryption. Don't try to uninstall it though or your internal storage will get encrypted as soon as you do. But if you want to change ROMs you can just fpash it before booting and it won't ger encrypted.
After doing the Tmo to international conversion, I downloaded a new rom and appropriate files. They show in ES File Explorer, but I am unable to locate them in TWRP. Anyone have this issue, I have to be missing something. Thanks in advance.
just put them in downloads and go there in twrp
Downloads folder literally doesn't exist in TWRP for me.
The whole file system looks different at / in TWRP than in ES explorer.
You need to mount sdcard/storage in TWRP
I have tried with no success. Under mount it won't even allow me to click the option to mount sd card. When I click sd card in the list I get a slew of folders with random character names (ie- ggDjkk7hFJJgGvV)
I have noticed in my oos system settings my phone shows encrypted. Could this be why? Is there a way to turn off encryption that I'm not seeing, if this is the cause?

That means it's still encrypted. What version of TWRP are you using? My guess is you are using the wrong TWRP. You can try booting back into OOS and removing your PIN / Password / fingerprints.
Otherwise you may have to boot back into OOS, backup your data, and format the data partition. Reboot to recovery again, then transfer whatever you need to TWRP, flash, and it will re-encrypt on the next boot. Again though, make sure you have the correct TWRP first before you go through all this trouble.
I am using bluespark TWRP that was in the guide to Tmo intl conversion.

Yes, that one will give you the issue. The encryption did not seem to be working in it.
You should use the latest version of this recovery to resolve your issue: [RECOVERY][3.3.0-2][fajita]Official/Unofficial TWRP recovery for OnePlus 6T (Stable)
So after updating to twrp 3.2.2, I was successfully able to clean install havok and have everything working. What I have noticed though, is that after booting into the rom, it is encrypted again.
The first go I realized I had the wrong gapps, so I downloaded the correct one, and rebooted to recovery. At this point it was encrypted and I couldn't see downloads again. I decided to do a data and cache wipe and installed everything via adb sideload and it went perfectly. I guess this phone just wants me to only load roms when I have my laptop with me. Either way, I'm up and running. I miss how easy things we're back in the HTC Evo days.
im having big problems about vendor. for start im giving some info:
device: mi a1 (tissot)
current os: lineage OS 17.1
root: yes
twrp: can install or use just booting .img
i unlocked my device and installed twrp. there is no problem.
i wanted flash lineage OS and i wiped my device. gives error about cannot mount /vendor
i installed treble supported twrp and installed lineage OS. flashed magisk. installed microg...
then i tried flash mapsv1.zip which is recommended for microg. then booom. another /vendor error.
now i can boot device. i can use everything except gps. google maps app cannot found location. yandex maps can found and i can use it until lock screen or going main screen (or another app). then it starts stopping everytime until i clen its data and cache. then again... in chrome when i open google maps and try found my location chrome stops.
i tried to change /vendor/etc/gps.conf. its still same.
what to do now guys? im worrying about if i try re-flash rom it doesnt flash and device bricked. any solution without re-flash rom? what causes to cannot mount /vendor after solved it?
What exactly did you wipe? I think you wiped vendor, or bumped your O.S. from an old firmware. However, wiping system, data and Dalvik was more than enough.
To solve this, the worst thing to do is trying to hook around. Just reflash the latest original firmware and start again.
Keep in mind that you might need to backup your stuff first.
Use adb pull and push commands in case your device is rebooting too much. Check if device works well this time.
Next, open adb access from device and reboot fastboot to reflash your custom recovery, then reboot recovery and wipe just these items. Finally, complete Rom flashing procedure, depending of your needs.

Dalvik cache , system, data, and cache. My device is not rebooting too much. Sory if i couldn't explain. Everything working fine except when an app tries use my location, app stops running, i cant flash anything right now.
İ thought anyone knows mapsv1.zip file(microg.org) and which files are replaced or added by this file when flash it. And can i do it manually? Btw i can read and write /vendor file with solid explorer
İf needed to re-flash rom thats ok but i think lineage OS was perfect for me until this error. And a last thing: can i backup my settings. (İ already took backup of everything in stock when unlocked bl)
Thank you for help
Edit: gps problems started when i tried flash mapsv1
ROM could be perfect, but what I doubt is how perfectly you followed the procedure. Again, better start from zero, being sure you have all the prerequisites (latest firmware included). My humble opinion.

Okey ilk try it and share the result night. But is it possible to backup settings of phone?
Well, that's why in step 0 is always recommended to backup you phone. At this level you should have nothing in settings, since you wipe it all... However, that's better, that's the goal of a Clean Install after all. Each ROM has its own flavour and is not recomendable to overwrite these values from a backup, if you're changing ROMs. What you could do, was to backup your apps and some settings with a third app like Swift Backup, or older Titanium Backup, before starting it all, or else, making a complete backup from recovery, in case you end with a problem with newly installed ROM (recommendation here is disable any screen security lock before doing Backups).

if you didn't treblized your device then its not a problem. I have this error too but that's because there is no vendor partition to mount. as been said by unipo:

Are you sure? Bcs i can view and change /vendor in root path. Treblizing is updating and repairing system partitions right? İ am using treble support twrp, flashed stock rom via mi flash(said error but worked fine) then how to treblize a device? And is this required for anything(like a rom, an app)?
