So I've had 3 Xoom's now, all have developed dead pixels within 3-4 days of use (the last one had a blotch of about 40 odd dead pixels straight out of the box)..
Anyone else with the MZ601 version having issues like this??
I'm now having to wait a week for my 4th Xoom as Optus do not have swappable stock, and worried I'm going to get yet another one with dead pixels..

Got mine launch day, first 2 had dead pixels and 3rd one had a small speck of dust under the screen. I gave up, stopped noticing it after a few days.. just remembered about it now.
I think I could deal with dust, just not defective LCD panels... Its a shame really, but I guess all of these just go into a pool of manufacturer refurbished units for resale...

Lol. This was day one of the US release that I these problems, heh. Never been so unlucky in my life with dead pixels on "new" screens.
My friend bought a note 4 and after 16 days it began to get purpilish-black splotches that looks like spilled ink on the screen. He brought it to ATT and they tried to tell hi that the screen was cracked (it's not). This picture is what it looks like today (about 20 days after purchase and 4 days after it began to happen). Any clue what would cause this? Any help would be appreciated because ATT is not trying to help at all.
I guess I should mention that his blutooth was having issues since he got it, and sometimes when he'd call people they wouldnt be able to hear him.
I feel as if this is a faulty device, but ATT isn't having it. They keep trying to say he did something to it. The phone is only 3 weeks old, never mishandled, never wet. What could this be?

would that be a factory defect?
Hard to say, I doubt they will accept it under warranty
Regards
Happened before on my note 3 after i dropped it. It will only get worst until the entire screen will become black.
It can happen even if the screen is not cracked. Odds are it's the result of the device being mishandled even unintentionally.
Looks like a simple fake.
I wouldn't accept it under warranty, that thing is a mess! No way it happened "on its own". Maybe he was frustrated with the bluetooth and call issues and he threw it against a wall?

Your friend should ask the ATT guys if its was really due to mishandle such as drop or thrown away, they should be some dent or scratch on the phone body. If ATT guys can not find the defect of body dent or scratch, then ur friend have a point there and should can claim under warranty..
Wow. I didn't notice until today but the status bar icons and time are showing signs of screen burn-in. I didn't even know this was possible with LCD screens. I can clearly see them with a dark blue full screen wallpaper. This is absolutely horrible.
Check yours too, people!

Not many believe so, but there's no problem getting burn-in on LCD. It's harder than OLED of course. Just look at the commercial LCD screens all over town and you'll see a lot of burn-in's...
The thing im baffeled over is that you managed to get burn-in on your phone. That means you have your screen on A LOT...

its display problem guys i had it 2 months ago..i showed it in service center nd got screen replacement since i had warranty.. u guys should do same if u have warranty and make sure to show them those pictures cause that problem doesn't always appear on screen.. sometimes it disappear..
Yeah, it's been ten hours guys. My phone's screen has been off for 9.5+ hours during this whole time. I can still see it.
It's also easy to spot when I pull the notification shade down. That's just... Horrible. I bought mine online so sending it for a replacement is out of the question. I can't live without a smartphone for a couple of weeks (minimum time with such grievances).

AFAIK lcd's don't truly get burn in but they persistence which should eventually fade. I'd imagine a defective screen is something acompletely different though.
It's usually ghosting on LCD. It should be reversible. Maybe play some movies or something.
This is kind of concerning and sad to hear. I traded my Nexus 6 for a G4 because I didn't want to deal with burn-in anymore (Moto X 2013 user). I hope I don't ever run into that problem or that the warranty covers it.
Same problem here... I just bought my G4 3 months ago...
i had sadly the same problem and made a tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/screenburn-t3152109/post63428991#post63428991
Solved just by sending it back 2 my provider
(i had the device for 2 a 3 weeks) so i got i new one
Got to say, I've had my G4 since May 2015 and have no screen problems.
Just picked up a used LG G4 off Craigslist yesterday, guy had it for a month and was proven from Sprint themselves. Have been noticing screen burn or whatever you want to call it. Can notice it when you pull the notification panel down, and you can see a red tint.
This sucks lol! I'm trying to screen-burn tool off the playstore and will try it for the full 8 hours it says tonight and report back.
Bought my G4 June 05 of 2015. Keep the brightness at a steady 80%. No sign of burn in at all.
It bootlooped to Hell but no burn in.
SAME HERE!!!
It is possible with LCD though , I have SOny Xperia z2 before , but it never have such issue , so when i got my g4 and got this issue at first i thought it was a defective unit. So , i replace a panel under warranty , but then the problem appears again then i realized its the quality of the panel lg used. Lg need to fixed their panel really seriously as it happened since G3 .Now with the LG G5 having the always-on features i believe that the problem would be more serious as with 30 minutes non-stop screen on time with current G4 already appeared such issue, imagine always-on for G5.......
If you turn the phone off can you still see anything? If so it's definitely burn in or something like it. This is news to me, I thought LCDs were immune.
I got sensitive touchscreen problem, ghost touches, burn-in and now bootloop. Now to sent it repair, buy a new smartphone to wait it come back, get it back, see it's still not totally fixed, send it back again. This phone is **** ?
Does your screen have any sign of burn in ? If not what is your precautionary routine do prevent them. Thanks.
I own it since it came out. No burn in. No precautions made.

Quite a relief.
Ive owned it since it came out. But the audio in both the ear piece and speaker have decided to stop working a of yesterday
Had it nearly 3 years now with heavy usage. No burn in no dead pixels. Still works great!
Owned mine since the day it came out here. Status bar is burned in a bit. When I rotate the screen I see a color difference where the bar usually is,especially on whit backgrounds. I've had this for a year probably. No dead pixels though and the burn in really isn't that bad. I don't notice it when watching YouTube for example.

No burn in here, zero screen problems (apart from sometimes having a green decontrasted tint to the screen after unlocking, fixed by turning the screen off and on again)

Two years and a half now, some burn in, barely noticeable. Kinda pissed about it, but you can't really get away with it on AMOLED.
Nothing at all on my screen after 3 years .

Own it since April 2014, no burn in what so ever, no precautions. Bought a slickwrap and replaced the battery, still working like a champ to this day. Planning to give it to my girlfriend and getting the s7 edge, just because I don't like keeping phones for more then 2 years, otherwise I could easily have used this for one more year.

Hey guys, I have a little problem concerning my G928F. I bought it 2 months ago along with a Clear View case. After a month and a half i noticed small scratches on screen caused by case. I understand that samsung offer to change it for free, but my problem is that i kinda droped it after getting case off, and now i have screen scratched by case but also it have a little crack caused by me. Is the screen change free in my condition?( I have found about the free screen change 2 days ago sadly).
