I flashed the BTU 7.0 today, and it looks like the direct reply from notifications (hangouts, textra) was removed from the beta? Is anyone else having this issue? I did flash it with the 6.0.1 DBT CSC file to get samsung pay to work, so I'm worried that may have something to do with it.

So I had cyanogenmod running on my gt-i9505 for a while with everything working aprart from camera so I decided to go back to stock and used this website to get the files for it sammobile I used odin to flash it and now whenever I load any rom the stock or cyanogenmod I get a pop up saying that It needs a network unlock code, I am wondering if anyone knows why this is and how to fix it.
Fixed!
I managed to "update via kies" but this did not work so I took the files that Kies downloaded and flashed them manuially with odin and now everything is back to normal, pretty weird what happened, but I am all happy.
I could provide a link to the files from my dropbox but I have not reached 10 posts yet so if anyone wants to they can pm me for the link and I will send it to them to post here.
it might have to do with regional locking what firmware do you have ?

As I said before I have now managed to solve this problem. This is the firmware I flashed then the problems started happening.
United Kingdom BTU (April 2013)
PDA: I9505XXUAMDM
CSC: I9505OXXAMDB
Version 4.2.2
I then done as said in the previous post, The filename of the one that fixed it when I flashed is.
I9505XXUEMJ7_I9505BTUEMJ8 _I9505XXUEMJ7_HOME.tar.md5
Hi,
I tried to flash Germany firmware for my S7 Edge however after finding out that the gear VR require local region firmware in order to function, i couldnt find the original firmware anywhere (ie sammobile).
The closest that I have found is the following, however it is not the original firmware as well. I did not record my phone CSC and it is now missing in the phone information. Could anyone share the firmware?
The country for the phone should be Singapore (Singtel). Million thanks ahead!

You bought it from Singapore so it should be XSP right?

I tried flashing the XSP firmware in the link on my first post, however it doesnt show CSC code/VoLTE either, hence I'm suspecting there may have multiple variant of Singapore firmware.
In order to change Active CSC your phone need to be wipe which odin does this automatically when flashing CSC file.(not HOME_CSC file)
Also XSP is part of OLB multi-csc which contain CSC for Malaysia/Philippines/Singapore/Thailand/Vietnam. So when you flash this CSC-file it will randomize the CSC. For example, you flash OLB-CSC expecting XSP-CSC but you might get THL-CSC instead.
is there a way to flash directly to XSP -CSC (singapore)? figured more people would be interested in this since Samsung Pay is expected to be released within this quarter

I appreciate any advice on this as well, my gear vr is giving me "network error" and I cant find any singapore(singtel) firmware around
Apparently there is no way you can flash the firmware and get Singapore CSC. It will always go to THL which is default CSC in OLB.
Just bumping this thread up if anyone's figured a way to get the Singapore CSC back. Unfortunately I decided to try out the Nougat beta and now I'm stuck with the Thai version of Samsung Pay.
Found this thread. I just tried android N and went back to marshmallow and having TH CSC. Hope someone can figure out and share
Go to Samsung at Plaza Singapura and have it restored. They do that in lesa than 2hrs.
Hi all,
Last week I bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge through ebay. Everything has been great until it came time to plug in my recently purchased Gear VR which is coming up with a network error. After some searching for solutions, it appears that my phone isn't set to a specific country (so I guess it doesn't know what software to install). I have installed "Phone INFO" which shows as per the attached screenshot.
My question is what could have caused this? If I was to reinstall firmware or attempt to add a CSC could it cause issues? Is it likely the previous owner was just a tinkerer? Am worried If I add a CSC my phone may become blocked or something but If I don't I can't use my Gear VR
Any help or advice greatfully received.
what software version is on your phone ?
It looks like someone may have have upgraded your phone to nougat beta or a custom ropm. Nougat beta does not have a csc associated with it. You need to flash one after installing.nougat beta.
I suggest you ddownload one for your provider from samfirmware or contact the sellor and try to find out what was done to the phone.

The previous owner has probably installed a custom rom and that's why the csc is missing. If you don't have root, then I would recommend for you download the stock firmware and flash it with Odin and that should fix your problem.

Please see attached for the software info, does this looks like the beta? Thanks for the replies both, I'll look into this Odin and see what it's all about. I haven't done anything with firmwares for years, not since messing about with Nitdroid on my old Nokia N9, hopefully can still get to grips with it all!

Nope. not nougat
You can download full rom and flash through odin. Make sure you flash all 4 files (bl,ap,modem and CSC).
Here's what I thought happened.
Previous owner root phone(cause knox 0x1)
and probably update the firmware by flashing rom though odin or use custom rom. But he/she didn't know how to flash the full firmware though odin properly(or just don't want to. idk) because of the old modem(baseband APEQ) but new rom file(build APG3) and also missing CSC.
These probably mean he/she flashes only AP files(rom) in odin and ignore the other 2 files(modem and CSC) and might also bl file(bootloader).

Yeah that sounds very plausible, just can't imagine why they would root it and update firmware but not do it properly, every guide I've read directs you to use the appropriate CSC for your country. Well I've got Odin running as we speak, so fingers crossed I can get this working and that I'll be testing out the VR as soon as possible! Does put me off buying second hand in future, but I guess on the plus side at least I don't have a warranty to worry about and can have some fun with different firmware.
some small 3 rd party providers or regional area have csc which are not commonly available, so when you upgrade you would not want to touch the csc.
The sim you are using may not recognize the csc the previous sim card was using that is why it is giving you there error message.
Could be that, guess we'll never know.
As mentioned above I have flashed with the latest firmware and updated the CSC, fortunately it's all working now so thanks for all the support. My refurbishment check now shows as attached.
So I flashed btu nougat on my s7 edge but flashed HOME_CSC instead of CSC. Will I still get OTA updates? Please help me I'm in deep confusion..
EDIT : I did some research and most say that I will and some say that I won't. If it's the latter how can I reflash the btu firmware to get OTA updates? They told me something about multi CSCs and things like that. Would you please help me?

Hello, I'm trying to change my SM-G655F from Germany to Australia firmware for the sole purpose of getting Samsung pay to work. I've done this before, switched from XSA to DBT in order to get access to Oreo early. I want to go back, now that Oreo is available worldwide.
However flashing the firmware through Odin, the process passes but I don't think it really "passes" anything, the flashing process is instant, where it should take a minute. And it doesn't change the CSC at all. What's going on?
Both firmware versions have the same April security patch. I've tried other firmwares as well to test it out and I'm getting the same issue.
