are you on twrp 3.0.3-1? make sure you update twrp to the latest version first before you do anything
step 1: go to the "how to Install OxygenOS 4.0.1 with Stock Or Custom Recovery without Data Loss!!" thread and download the newest supersu zip file and the FULL 4.0.1 zip file (larger file)
step 2: boot to recovery and nandroid backup
step 3: go to wipe, advanced, wipe cache and dalvik
step 4: go to install and flash the full OOS 4.0.1 zip file then directly after flash the newest supersu 2.79 zip file
step 5: boot to system should take a bit longer than usual then you will be in nougat
hope this helps

Flash the Oxygen OS 3.1.0 signed flashable zip
Wipe data & caches via TWRP
Flash the TWRP 3.0.2-2 img via TWRP
Reboot recovery via TWRP
Flash the Oxygen OS 3.1.0 signed flashable zip again
Flash one of the modified SuperSU zips
All the files you need are in post #1 of the Oxygen OS mirrors thread.
You can try updating without wiping data but you may well have issues afterwards.

No issues if you wipe data.
It's safe if you follow the instructions.
Hello,
i am using oxygen os 3.1 with TWRP recovery. No root no modifications other than TWRP.
Is it possible to update without factory reset to the latest oxygen os without losing my custom recovery TWRP?
I read about signed flash able zips - but i am not sure on how to proceed.
Guidance is appreciated !
Thank You
Device is Oneplus two 64gb.

You want to upgrade to latest 3.5.5 ? You'll have to wait until signed flashable zip for 3.5.5 is made. For now 3.1.0 is the latest flashable zip.
Check this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/rom-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-roms-ota-t3209863
Thank you,
so i will wait for the full signed flashable zip.
still - my questions remain - i do not completely understand this :
Note: Since OTA incremental update zips will fail on rooted devices or devices with modifications to system files, it's not possible to use these to update without reverting back to completely stock, unrooted first.
To update you must either wait for the new, full, signed flashable zip to appear (usually a few weeks after the OTA update) or use the following workaround:
Boot into TWRP recovery
Flash the latest full signed flashable zip
Flash the new OTA incremental update zip
Flash the SuperSU zip
Reboot
Is it possible with the full signed flashable zip to keep twrp and my settings ?
Thank You

As it says you can't use incremental update zips if you're rooted or has a modified system. You can either Flash the latest full signed flashable zip & then Flash the new OTA incremental update zip (without rooting) OR just wait for the Full signed flashable zip & then flash it(whether you're rooted or not). As for now neither "Incremental" nor "full" signed zip exists for 3.5.5.
And Yes. You won't lose TWRP.
To understand more about "Incremental" & "Full" update packages, read this -> https://source.android.com/devices/tech/ota/tools.html
you can flash full rom zip and without restarting flash twrp image in twrp itself, its kinda tricky but it works
3.5.5 Full Signed Flashable Zip's now available. Check the thread I sent before.

I was on 3.1.0 with Hybrid recovery and root before the OTA for 3.5.5 came through. It installed itself via the ota (1.2gb) and when it was done I was back on default recovery and no root...which i fixed in few minutes..So I am now on the latest OS 3.5.5 with Hybrid Recovery and Root..everything is perfect! No network drops so far e.t.c
Edit: I didn't have to unroot for the OTA to work..It just did. Also didn't lost any data. all apps +data still intact
Thank You B!Gguy.
Signed flashable worked flawless

Hi everyone!
We are starting to push the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 9.0.6 for both the devices.
[Changelog]
System:
Updated Android security patch to 2019.10
General bug fixes and improvements
Updated GMS apps
For those who were on previous versions for OnePlus 3 and 3T, we appreciate your active feedback and attempts to reach out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimize and improve several key areas. Thank you for your patience and as always, we look forward to hearing your continued feedback in the bug reporting forum here: https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
This OTA will have a staged rollout, the OTA will be received by a limited number of users initially and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs, so using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.
This will be the last update for these two devices and we can't thank you enough for your invaluable feedback throughout these three years. With your support, we improved Oxygen OS across three major Android versions and dozens of updates. This is not the end for the OnePlus 3 and 3T, though. Starting next week, we will start highlighting some of the great work done by the developer community, for those of you considering to have a go at Custom ROMs.
Your feedback is appreciated. Hope you enjoy and let us know how you feel about the update in the comments below.
Never Settle :fingers-crossed:

Official TWRP 3.3.1-0
ROOT: Magisk
Installation Methods
Follow the steps correctly otherwise you may brick your device. I am not responsible for any damage to your device, please ensure that your device is at least 60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the update process.
Important Note: If your device’s Bootloader is Unlocked, then installing this firmware will factory reset your phone as this is a firmware upgrade. All your personal data and app data will be wiped clean! So backup before flashing!
Download the necessary files from the post above and follow as below.
********************* For OOS Non Rooted Users with Stock Recovery *****************
1. Download the appropriate OTA from above link and place it in the root folder.
2. Navigate to Settings > System Updates > Settings Icon > Local Upgrade & Select the OTA File
3. Once selected system would prompt upgrade now
4. Select upgrade now and system would reboot in stock recovery and flash the OTA
5. The installer would itself flash the OTA and reboot the device.
The Device will reboot and your OnePlus 3/3T is now running on the latest OxygenOS firmware & OS based on 9.0 Pie :fingers-crossed:
PS: The first boot may take some time so keep calm and wait for it to boot.
************************ For OOS users with TWRP and unlocked Bootloader************************
NOTE: This dirty flashing method is from the users who tried it and were successful. Please backup to be on safer side.
1. In TWRP, wipe cache & dalvik
2. Flash OOS Full Rom Zip
3. Flash Magisk for Root access (Optional)
4. Reboot to TWRP (to retain recovery as TWRP)
5. Reboot to system
************************ For Custom ROM Users with TWRP Recovery************************
Download the required files from Post 2
Once you have downloaded all the required files on your device, please follow as below:
Backup your phone storage contents to an external mass storage as everything will be wiped.
1. Reboot to TWRP recovery
2. Wipe Dalvik , System, Data & Cache
3. Format Data partition - system will be encrypted (this is a must else system will not boot the new Android version)
- Now your phone has been completely wiped. Copy the zip files to your phone by connecting to your PC/laptop while still in TWRP
3. Install Menu > Select OOS Full Rom Zip > Swipe to Flash
4. Flash Magisk for Root access (Optional)
5. Wipe Dalvik & Cache
6. Reboot System and enjoy latest OxygenOS based on 9.0 Pie :fingers-crossed:
PS: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash a full OTA that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full OTA zips in recovery.

You need to get blu_spark TWRP 3.2.1.x (v8.61)
And to avoid problems, I suggest you go for Magisk v14.6. I myself am on Magisk v14.6 and didn't face any boot loop. And, to be on safer side, do take backup of all your data

Hi,
thanks for this hint! Using Magisk 14.6 did the trick for me, combined with the blu_spark TWRP 3.2.1.x (v8.61) and wiping Dalvik/Cache.
After the first start, I ran the update to Magisk 15.1 directly in Magisk Manager and it also worked.
Every try befoe that led to a non starting system that got stuck in the OnePlus screen.

Matthias

Once you have downloaded all the required files on you device, please follow as below
1. Update TWRP to the ones provided above by flashing the downloaded image

3. Wipe > Advance Wipe > Select Dalvik & Cache > Swipe to Wipe
4. Install Menu > Select OOS 5.0.1 Full Rom Zip > Swipe to Flash
5. Flash the provided SuperSU/Magisk to maintain root (Optional)
6. Wipe Dalvik & Cache
7. Reboot System and Enjoy OxygenOS 5.0.1 Firmware & Latest OOS based on 8.0 Oreo :fingers-crossed:

What do you mean?
If you flash the Rom and then you reboot without flashing Magisk, then you will lose the custom recovery.
In this case not only you wont be able to flash Magisk, you will have the stock recovery and you will have to start the whole process from scratch
Unleashed by my rooted OP3T in 8.0
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR DEVICE BRICKS, SD CARD DAMAGES OR NUCLEAR WAR STARTS.
Rooting method described below will work on Oreo-running devices ONLY (confirmed on build OPN27.76-12-22 and on OPNS27.76-12-22-9).
Please follow all steps very carefully and make sure you downloaded correct versions of all .zip files mentioned in my instruction!
ROOT (SafetyNet test will PASS!)
1. Download all files listed below:
- twrp-3.2.3-0-addison.img (CLICK)
- Magisk-v17.1.zip or newer if availabe (CLICK)
- f2fsfix-2018.9.2.zip (CLICK)
2. Flash TWRP using Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-addison.img
3. Flash Magisk-v17.1.zip (or newer if available).
4. Go to TWRP/Settings and open Terminal.
5. Run both of following commands:
Code:
echo KEEPVERITY=true>>/data/.magisk
echo KEEPFORCEENCRYPT=true>>/data/.magisk
6. Flash f2fsfix-2018.9.2.zip
7. Reboot (it is crucial in case of installing Xposed afterwards).
8. Optional but recommended: update your Magisk Manager to the latest version (CLICK).
9. Open Magisk -> Modules and update f2fs-loopback-bug-workaround module to the newest version (can be done only via Magisk Manager only if new version of f2fs-loopback-bug-workaround module is available).
10. Enjoy rooted Oreo.
UPDATE 03.10.2018
If you flashed everything as described in OP and noticed that you got stuck in boot, go to TWRP again and:
1. Uninstall Magisk using latest Magisk uninstaller.
2. Flash Magisk 17.1.zip AGAIN (yes.).
3. Flash f2fsfix-2018.9.2.zip
4. Enjoy rooted phone.
PS. I do not know why device does not start after first flashing to be honest, but these four steps above are confirmed by several users (and by me).
UPDATE 03.10.2018
XPOSED (be careful: Xposed for Oreo is still in BETA distribution and flashing it will break your SafetyNet!)
1. Open Magisk Manager -> Downloads.
2. Download Xposed Installer (the one from the screen below):
https://image.ibb.co/byLUuK/Xposed_Framework.png
3. Let Magisk install it.
4. Reboot.
5. Open Xposed Installer (you will see orange exclamation mark, don't worry).
6. Reboot once again.
7. Voila.
Hit THANKS if I helped!

@rafikowy ah, so basically the problem was with dm-verity and forced encryption? That makes sense. So it would basically also work if you'd not extract the boot.img from the OTA zip and mod it with Magisk manager with both enabled and flash that (might be easier than flashing normal Magisk and then make the changes), so you'd basically just flash the img and the module zip in TWRP.
Well, if no bigger bugs appear I might try the Oreo OTA and root tomorrow. Don't think it will be here on its own till then, even if it's already the official rollout (Indian and brasilian users seem to get it officially)
First magisk manager did not want to open, but a reboot solved. thanks
So, Lenovorola is still "undecided" in regards to patching F2FS.
I wonder why...

I gone back to 7.1.1 Nov patch and everything is OK with my IMEI. Just flash 7.1.1 Plus ROM with TWRP. One issue what I have - In can't mount OEM partition in TWRP.
Could someone provide a TWRP backup of the 8.0 Soak? I've modified the system partition and this method stoped working. All the 8.1 roms have a so bugged camera, I don't wanna go back to them

1. Restore backup
2. Flash Magisk 15.3
3. Flash this https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/guide-magisk-official-version-including-t3577875
4. Flash this https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-tool-magisk-manager-recovery-mode-t3693165
5. Go to the terminal in TWRP and run two commands:
- mm
- f
Reboot.
That's all. You don't need to run commands from OP.
IF I help you - you can buy me a beer )))))

Nope. It's impossible for now. You can`t go back to full stock, because you'll lose your IMEI with flashing full 7.1.1 FW with RSD or fastboot.

Hello friends, this morning I skipped the update 11.0.5.0 on my xiaomi Mi 9t Global, but I have a Root and TWRP user and I would not like to have to revert that to be able to install the update there is some way to update it without losing root and twrp? I would appreciate the help AND SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH
Hello,
If you don't want to lose TWRP after OTA update => Use TWRP OrangeFox Recovery (10.1_1) => https://files.orangefox.tech/OrangeFox-Stable/davinci/OrangeFox-R10.1_1-Stable-davinci.zip
You can't keep "root", but it's simple to flash again Magisk zip installation in TWRP...
Question: What Magisk modules did you install?
Info: It's safer to download and install Full package update (=FullOTA) instead of simple OTA.

Thank you very much for your help I got the Complete File of the OTA update and I Installed it with TWRP And before restarting I applied Magisk as you told me and this is the result.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP I AM SOMETHING NOOB EVEN WITH XIAOMI AND I WAS AFRAID TO BRIKE MY TERMINAL BUT WITH YOUR HELP I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING NEW FOR THE FOLLOWING TIMES
:laugh::fingers-crossed:
And on the magisk modules that I installed I leave you a ScreenShot
I leave the download link of the file fullOTA Global 11.0.5.0 in case someone wants to install it : https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/davinci/
As a fellow user of a stock rom, I can recommend OrangeFox as taking OTA updates with it is SO much easier. Make sure you follow instructions to get it set up, then you just take OTA like stock. When you have to flash the full OTA, it's a great time to switch as that's part of setting up OTA on Orangefox

There's a guide linked in the post. There's no point in me typing up the same thing. Please refer to the official documentation linked in the post as that will always be correct and up to date.
