Hi all,
I'm really into photography and I like to use my phone to take some really nice pictures. This phone has really helped me get some great shots. However, I wanted to be able to capture in RAW format. Is there any way to do that on this phone? Thanks!
no, there is no camera2 api support and probably it will never happen.

As many of you know, it wasn't possible to record calls with the 2.0 and 2.1 android versions. Can someone test whether the feature is supported in the new firmware?
Thanks.

Test? How? Wouldn't you need a recorder app that was specifically coded to use the phone audio stream? If there was such an app and it didn't work for some reason in earlier versions, let me know and I'll be happy to give it a shot under Froyo, as that's functionality I'd like to have, too.

Total recall doesn't work on anything 2.0+ like Nexus One.
It's in the app description itself.
Looking for alternatives..

sorry.
Google plus now allows you to make short film strips based on the pictures you select. Very similar to the HTC One highlights feature. You can then share the videos. Problem is I think it is only on 4.3 and above. Google + now includes a photos app
Google's "Auto Awesome".
G2 will be getting official 4.4 ROM, so yeah, we'll get Awesome. Might already be available on the 4.3 AOSP/CM ROMs. I'm still on CleanROM and haven't looked at the full feature set of the newer ROMs. Still too many bugs for my daily driver.
I need an app like Lumia Camera on Android and HTC has did it, they have an awesome app for taking photo.
Buy an M8 and enjoy all of it's 4mp glory.
Its posible but check if its already been ported to all devies or cm11 or aosp,
Xperia firmware is simular to aosp and cm so it may work if its ported to both

Have you tried the Camera FV-5 App? It has too many advanced options that can make you satisfied.

The lite version really do this, but the paid version retains the full image resolution. This is weird because I've used the app and do not had any problem.... But I do prefer the stock camera app...
Do any one know method of having manual camera controls like manual focus, etc like on S6 without rooting the device.
So far, almost no devices have manual camera controls save for the Nexus 6 and, apparently the Galaxy S6. Not until the Samsung developers update the camera api will we get those features.

Camera FV-5 and Manual Camera both have support for manual camera controls, but they don't work unless the device already has the Camera2 api implemented. We're out of luck until Samsung decides to throw us a bone, so to speak.
Yeah I really want to try this feature.. Hopefully they will bring something out soon

Yes it's possible you just have to find same connection to the new camera module, also you have to get the driver for that module and modify the vendor partition and maybe the kernel to accept the new module. If you're successful which seems unlikely send some images taken from it.
