Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if is possible to use the SM-G935A model in Europe? I know that USA models are using differend network frequencies so I was not sure...
Also how can I check and know for sure if the phone is carrier locked, and if it is, is there any way to unlock it here in Bosnia?
Should be fine but check what frequencies your network uses and then compare

It supports Band 3, 7 and 20, commonly used for LTE in the UK and Europe.
It also supports both 2G and 3G on all networks in Bosnia.
Since all countries in the EU use the same LTE bands, it'll work everywhere.
Thank you both for the replies.
Which site is recomended for carrier unlock, I have found cellularunlocker (dot)net but I am not sure if it is reliable and safe to use? It costs 25$
I am sorry if this is not allowed to ask on the forums.

You should look for the partition file and debranded rom which should unlock it, that's what I've done in the past anyway

Hello, thank you very much. I will try it and I am familiar with flashing roms, so I will use ODIN to flash a stock ROM which is rebranded. But could you be a little more specific about the partition file, as where I can find them and how to flash it?
Is there a risk of bricking the phone?

Don't know if there are any, but you'll have to find the newest SM-G935A ROM with a PIT file, apparently that removes the network lock.
If you're still hesitant to flash, you'll have to find a reputable cell phone unlock code website. Not sure about them since I've never needed to use one.

Hello, thank you for your help. Just to be sure, the phone is on AT&T so am I right that I have to download the firmware (includes PIT file) from this post No.14: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/collection-firmware-rom-pit-files-t3326707/page2
I just want to be sure that those are the right files/firmwares before flashing them?

I don't know how new/old the firmware is, but if the PIT file is included, it should work fine.
Sorry, wrong thread.

Hey guys,
is it possible to use one of these in Europe with full 4G support? Can I flash ROMS that are meant to be used on the European model and it will fix the antenna or should I flash specific Verizon ROMS and then flash an european modem, if at all possible? I thank any input because I'm clueless.
Thanks!

Yes its a zero chance of making it work By flashing.
Hello guys and girls. I successfully unlocked the bootloader of my SM-G900V and now I'm on the most smooth CM ever.
I live in Brazil, and here we don't have the LTE bands that the Verizon's S5 uses. So I tried unlock additional bands using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059.
Guess what? Didn't work.
It occurred to me that the problem could be the modem firmware, so I tried to flash modem from the others variants, and.... nope. ODIN's flash fail, and the download mode screen says "SECURE CHECK FAIL: modem" (something like that).
I almost made an attempt to flash using dd, or recovery, but decided to ask first.
Honestly it's hard to find a flashable zip of any version of modem.
I already made a backup of modem partition, in case of anything goes wrong.
The only LTE band I need is the 7.
My questions are:
Does anyone tried this before?
What is the risk to flash a modem firmware from other variant using dd/recovery?

Unfortunately it will not work. I've already tried before unlocking the bootloader. I'm now on CM13, and they does not have a hidden menu, only stock firmware (or port). Plus, when I accessed the menu on stock firmware, the B7 option said something like "not supported". Probably because the software is modified by Verizon.

Idoneapss.
Some clarification: Galaxy Tools by Idoneapps is a tool for changing various APN and hidden settings on the S5. I couldn't find an official link, but I have a direct link to the AndroidFileHost download. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347804710
You can probably find the band and APN settings yourself easily enough, but I'll do some experimenting and update when I find the options. It isn't the easiest UI.

Yesterday I tried to flash modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin from another device using "dd". The flash was ok, and the device did turn on without problems.
I tried the baseband of these three devices: SM-G900M, SM-G900P and SM-G900T.
But... no LTE for me.
I'm still looking for a way to do this.
I have the Verizon varient and was able to set the APN to exactly to what my unlocked moto x pure is. It works perfect with at&t.........so far. I guess it's all about the APN since the sim is unlocked.

Yes, G550T1 VARIANT can be network unlocked. I flashed the CP field in Odin with a stock Rom (a piece of it, not AP, BL, or CSC or .pit) and then used the app that's usually in a MetroPCS folder. Purple and has a key hole on the icon. Luckily, metro approved it and unlocked it.. I doubt you still need this information knowing post is like 8 months old but, I will upload the necessary files tonight and post a link. Sure this well help another person curious of the same thing one day.. hope I've helped

There is a built in apl thzt unlocks the phone within 1 min.
As long as you had service on it for a certain amount of time with metro pcs.
Not sure about any other carrierz.

Hello all,
I have a question regarding the base firmware I have found that is All_OYN_G950USQU1AQC8 multi cert tar.md5 . This firmware seems to be the base stock factory firmware and one user has tried to install it on the Sprint variant of G950U along with the PIT file and repartition. What seems to have happened is that we seemed to have returned to stock Sprint firmware. However, does anyone know why Sprint bootanimation and such will remain? Is this an issue with the firmware package (4.4GB and seems to have all G950U carriers within the file) or is this an issue with the ODIN software for this phone? Also, I know Sprint is a pain to deal with bc they seem to Carrier SIM lock once their SIM card is inserted. Maybe someone could shed some light on this process for us. I personally don't have another SIM to try. I will post the links to both the thread and firmware and pit files below in post 2. Also, found an interesting firmware that claims to have the eng bootloader but can't get it from the site as I am not able to purchase via yuan.
Thanks for anyones and everyone's help.

Nice! The test devices allow switching carriers just by changing the SIM. Maybe we can find a way to get the retail devices to do that.

I recently acquired a G935P to repair my old phone that had a bad sim card reader. I used the motherboard from the Sprint phone because i'm not skilled in the ways of micro=soldering items. Come to find out Sprint is particularly difficult because they are the only carrier that has upgraded their S7E's to binary 5. Now I have after various attempts, successfully rooted the phone with no issues, seems to run fine albeit some lag (due to the engboot) but I was inquiring that since I have root can I install the U firmware and how would I go about doing that. Thanks in advance!

Is the phone sim unlocked? You may have to call sprint to get it unlocked first. Until Verizon (or the g935u) gets binary 5, you will be unable to change your firmware, with the exception of the sprint binary 5 firmware.

It was recently unlocked but it consistantly showed the device receiving the signal as roaming, i believe because it was only internationally unlocked? and it did not pick up the 4G bands, only reaching normal 3G speeds and in my attempts to flash the U firmware I somehow managed to undo the procedure :/ I have the MSL code and am contuining with trying different settings to see if I can at least get the phone to accept the SIM card again.

Have you tried to manually add the carrier info? Sometimes when using different roms you have to change where you are connecting to because the rom defaults to another carrier.

Yes sir, I have to access the hidden menu to get into the data profiles but even when i get there, it won't show the APN's set for the device because 'user is not authorized' and when i add the verizon apn information and hit save, it doesn't go through.

I believe once you achieve root you should be able to run xposed, i'm not entirely sure on that but from what I understand it's possible. The U firmware is just devoid of any carrier bloat and allows you to run a more pure version of the samsung firmware, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

On older Samsung phones, when the bootloader was upgraded, you could 'odin' the previous firmware. It did this by not flashing certain components of the tar file. For example, you could go from a binary 5 nougat to a binary 4 marshmallow firmware, but the bootloader would still remain on binary 5... however, you just installed the binary 4 firmware.
Not sure if this would let you go to the u firmware, but may let you rollback to a binary 4 firmware. Haven't tried it on my s7 since I'm stuck with sprint until October... so no point at this time.

Anyway you would be willing to share your process with me? I have been researching and testings out many methods and have failed and from what you described so far it is definitely one I haven't tried yet lol.

Haven't done it in a while since it was on an older phone, but you use a program called z3x Samsung tool pro. It will allow you to only flash certain aspects of the file. You may or may not be able to cross over from p firmware to u firmware with it.
