I am unable to get Renovate Edge 5.0 to boot at all. I have tried flashing the firmware and it says that it is installed, but running
Code:
getprop ro.bootloader
shows that it hasn't updated to the DPLT firmware, always returning my current BL APJ4. I'm attempting to get the APK3 BL and modem right now to see if that helps.
Anyone else getting this problem?
Note: My CSC is XAC (Multi CSC for Canada, mine is RWC specifically)

Can confirm not working on APK3 BL and CP either. Still can't get DPLT BL and CP to flash over TWRP (3.0.2-4) and I can't seem to figure out how I would flash the files through Odin, as they are all bin files.

That was done and did not work, the APK3 BL and CP are the latest ones for RWC right now. The official nougat firmware is still not out, whether for RWC or generic Canada XAC.
I think I'm going to wait until the XAC firmware for nougat comes out and flash the CP and Modem for that through Odin.
Seems to be only viable option at this point.
If you really need the the latest 7.0 update, ambasadii rom, has an aroma option to install modem and bootloader (just select no) you can get nougat working on the APK3

I did want the 7.0 update mainly for the Grace UX, although I'm a HUGE fan of the Renovate ROM development. I'll try out the ambasadii ROM for the week, see how i'm feeling it and report back!

I had already tried flashing the renovate rom clean and dirty flash including dalvik wipe while on APK3 BL and CP
I'm on ambasadii right now with no issues on APK3
Got pretty adjusted.
Imma test out the renovate rom on APK3 again next week, when i'm a bit more free.
Just tried to flash the latest renovate edge release and still no luck on APK3. Seems like no firnware has been released for my CSC yet, so i'm unable to get it to work yet. Ambasadii Rom has been working great for the most part, just seems to be using more RAM then usual, and burning through my battery somewhat quicker as well.
Tried flashing the firmware files included in the Renovate Edge thread, but the bootloader seems to not want to flash at all, baseband flashes fine.

I have a look through the threads and could not really get an answer I know would suite my situation exactly.
My question is this, I am currently running the latest Resurrection Remix ROM (6.0.1) and am wanting to install a ROM like AryaMod or another custom TW ROM for the Note 3 (not ported).
Can I just install the ROM through recovery?
Second question, my Baseband version is currently N9005XXUENA2 which I think is old - should I update to the latest bootloader and if so how do I go about this? This one I am really needing some easy to follow instructions as I have not updated the bootloader before.
Sorry if there is already a thread with this, I couldn't find it.
Thanks.
You say baseband then say bootloader .
One is not the same as the other .
Baseband is your Modem .

Ok, I am obviously a little confused. Where do I check my bootloader version? And how to I update that? And should I also update my baseband/modem?

Done, I did the cold boot and everything seems to be running smoothly. (Should I notice a difference in performance or battery at all?)
As for installing a Custom TW Lollipop ROM, do I just flash it through recovery and not have to do anything else? As in coming from 6.0.1 AOSP back to 5.1.1 TW is all fine?
Thanks again.
I recommend a full wipe in recovery before flashing another rom?
Hi guys,
Just got a S7 Edge G935K from Korea (Exynos) and I was wondering if I could flash a ROM corresponding to my region (G9350 - Hong Kong), however the model sold here is the Snapdragon one. Are the ROMs chip-specific?
Also the current version on my G935K is G935KKTC1APDA while the latest G9350 ROM I want is G9350ZZH1APB9, would it still be possible to "downgrade"? Or is it safe to at least try without hard/soft bricking?
The only reasons I want to do that is to maybe have wifi-calling enabled (I had it working on my previous phone and the S7E is supposed to have it), get rid of the korean operator boot logo, and change the recovery mode language... well, maybe not worth it, but we are on xda after all.

No. Your device is only for Korea (KT Corporation). Anyway you wanna flash one firmware of other phone model that isn't supported for your device. You will brick your device for sure.
Ok. I wasn't sure if the model names were different region naming only or different hardware too (except the chip). Well everything is working fine except the wifi-calling which i dont really need, so i won't try anything stupid.
Thanks !

So you did flash 3 files out of the package excluding the bootloader ?
What would have happened if you included BL in the sync?

It would fail. I did try this hoping it may work.
Didn't brick or do anything negative, just had to reboot the bootloader and flash without bootloader.
I've installed a stock based custom rom for g935f on my g935k through TWRP, everything went very well...
(separately updated BL and CP with correct files with ODIN though)
Still not sure how it will work with ODIN and a complete 100% stock rom.

I flashed a stock based custom ROM through TWRP for my G935L. I can boot normally.
But I could not flash BL and CP via ODIN. Could you please explain a little bit more on how did you update BL and CP with correct files with ODIN? (Or is it necessary to flash BL and CP even though the stock based custom ROM seems working fine?)

After flashing a G935F rom in TWRP, I've used the BL and CP (Odin) from the FW update specific to my S7E variant, G935K for me, should be G935L in your case.
(updating BL and CP seems to not be a must, but it was recommended in the thread of the custom rom I'm using)

King Rom v7. I'm considering flashing the v8 or a different rom but I don't have any real issues and battery is still acceptable to me as I charge my phone at night. And I'm lazy to set it up again.
Just in case, and to be clear, for the BL and AP I have flashed the ones from the latest stock rom available for my S7E (K variant) from sammobile, not from the custom rom (Wich is based on F variant)

Thanks a lot for the clarification. Can you give me the link to where i can get the BL and AP for the stock rom of the K variant?
Got it from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935K/
You will get the full FW, in Odin select BL and CP only. You can flash them after installing the custom rom (custom rom installed using TWRP)
Edit: BL and CP, not BL and AP

Which modem and BL do you use? I've been trying to flash my G935S with custom ROM but all make my mobile data connection not functioning.
Hello,
I currently have an unlocked G930A that is running on 7.0, I am using the T-Mobile carrier and I would like to flash to the T-Mobile rom. I know it was possible on marshmallow but I couldn't find any posts regarding 7.0.
If I follow these instructions

Thanks bro! You know which version of Odin to use? I'm on 3.12.3 and it's giving me invalid sha md5 error. File is fine. Other guy mentioned Odin from Verizon thread. Couldn't find it
Edit: Found it! It's PrinceComsy Odin 3.12. It worked perfectly! However, now my fingerprint sensor doesn't work. Is that because I didn't flash bootloader? If I flash just bootloader, will it still wipe the system?
Edit 2: Goddamnit Samsung Pay isn't working either. Says I made unauthorized modifications.
Final Edit: So apparently you have to flash Bootloader as well to get Samsung Pay and fingerprint sensor to work.
Basically, Download PrinceComsy's 3.12 Odin from Verizon Root thread. Then flash the latest G930T ROM from SamMobile. Tick BL, AP, CP, AND CSC. Make sure you ran Odin with admin privileges. It'll wipe internal SD so back that up.

do i need to turn off find my samsung fiirst?
So yesterday I updated from Nougat (not rooted) to Oreo. After I updated I had some issues with my SIM. Basically most of the time I get "Out of service/Not registered in the Network". The SIM is working fine in other Phones. Already tried a reformat (with Stock Recovery) did not help.
So can I just use Odin v3.12 and the S8 Nougat files and flash them?
Will it brick If I do it?
The Oreo Firmware (and my phone) has no carrier. (DBT, Germany)
Same goes for the Nougat Firmware.
Thanks

I have a question regarding a motherboard I bought. I used Phone Info and I get the following information:
Phone Model: SM-N9005/Galaxy Note 3
Device Type: hlte
Product Name: hltezh
CSC Code: TGY
Bootloader Version: N9005ZHUENB1
Baseband Version: N9005ZHUENA6
Phone Info says there is a newer firmware (N9005ZSUGPJ2) but when I try the firmware updater via the Settings app it says I'm already on the latest update. I also can't find the current bootloader (N9005ZHUENB1) and baseband (N9005ZHUENA6) on Sammobile.
Do I need to update to Android 5.0 as it is still on 4.4.2 and I want to use LineageOS 16.0. Will the current firmware (4.4.2) work when I want to root the phone and install TWRP to install LineageOS 16.0?

Try it, if it failed, don't flash with CSC, if it also failed, just leave it like that.
You want to try LOS16, it is fine, I booted Pie ROMs, RR, with KitKat bootloader older than yours.
If you had any problems later, just flash modem & bootloader files only.
No need to flash the whole stock ROM.
