Water Damaged XT1585 Stuck in Bootloop - Recover data (Photos)? - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I'm not tech illiterate in general, but phones are not my wheelhouse.
My mother had a Turbo 2 that took a ten second spill in a hot tub and then was put in rice. The phone was stuck in a boot loop when they tried to turn it on again eventually, which could be stopped from the bootloader menu. She didn't have any backup for her photos and gave the phone to me after trying a cell phone repair place which wasn't able to repair or recover data. Is there anything I should try to recover her photos, or should I go straight to attempting to re-flash firmware to get the phone operational?
Thanks for any advice!
EDIT: I gave up on data recovery and am now just trying to get the phone operational. I have posted to the [X Force] How to Manually Flash Official Firmware by Jaocagomez thread on what I have attempted and where I am stuck. Thanks!

BUZZ HTC Wildfire extreme Rebooting even in recovery

well i recently dropped my HTC wildfire in water. I took it to the service center a local shop
and get it cleaned. but right on the shop when the engineer repaired it; it keeps
on restarting again and again. i thought it was beacuse may be ROM get corrupted
and when i will return home i will boot into recovery and reflash it.
but when i came back to home i put the phone down and then tried to go to the
recovery , it again start rebooting again and again. i was unable to stay in recovery for a
few seconds. it shows the revolutionary recovery but again it reboot and shows the
HTC logo and then again reboot after few seconds. then i thought may be clearing the memory will
make any effect but still when i cleared memory from bootloader i managed to clear it and it
didn't gave me bootloop in bootloader. but as soon as i tried to again boot back to recovery from bootloader menu
it again start rebooting abnormally. well i thought there may be problem with the battery but when i put charger
in again the phone led shows orange color charging and then phone again start rebooting
when the charger was plugged in.
but it stays in bootloader on. battery checked it is working right.
now can somedbody tell me is it hardware fault or there is something wrong with software ??
i called the LOCAL HTC center they say that there is an IC in the motherboard of phone
it is responsible for making boot properly and may be water has runied it.
well as per them the repair is not possbile now because they just replace the whole board they
don't solder the IC'S and moreover in india HTC has halted the production of motherboards they
are not avaliable no more.
well is this the end of my little fellow phone ?

The last thing i would suggest you is that to change recovery.try flashing some other recovery and see if it works. If the problem still persists,I'm afraid you'll have to give up on willy or buy a new second hand willy. Its pretty cheap these days.
Well i will definitely try to do that

well yeah i will try to do that i would be able to..can you tell me how to flash recovery from fast boot menu after connecting it with PC and re installing HBOOT drivers again. coz it was long ago that i had did it.:good:...
Download any recovery in pc49img format and put it on the root of your sd card. Then turn the phone on in bootloader mode, follow instructions and you're done. No need to connect to PC.

[Q] I accidently erased ALL files off my LG G2!! HELP!!?? (Verizon VS980)

I formatted my G2 down to one partition hoping to start over from a root error, but as soon as I did that, the phone will no longer power up, no charge, no LG logo boot, no download mode, no recovery mode, no nothing. Just completely NOTHING! I have tried & tried to boot into download or recovery mode with no results, computer wont recognize the device at all etc. Is there anything around this or is it completely gone & needs to be shipped to LG? Thanks in advance!
your phone was died ~.~
WOW!!! 63 views & not 1 genius!!?? LOL

You are what the professionals call, screwed.
You have 0 software on that phone. It's just raw parts now. You'd need to be able to flash how they do at the factory.... which no one has that kinda power in the outside world....
I'll buy your phone for parts. I'd like the screen.

Boot loop even after stock flash

I tried factory reset+cache wipe, smart switch emergency recovery, flashing rom with odin but I'm still getting this inexplicable boot loop that started on its own. Also tried TWRP wipes but those didn't help either. How can I even begin to troubleshoot this or possibly get a fix?
It sounds like you have an issue with the memory chip on your motherboard.
Since all the conventional methods failed, you will need to take to a cell shop that has professional equipment to try and restore it.
If they cannot do it then you need to replace the motherboard through samsung.

Trying to reload is on one plus 5.

My phone decided to hide in my pocket one day while I went swimming. Actually I forgot it was there. 30 minutes later I realize it's there and get it out of the water. I turn it off immediately. Take it to a drying station. When I get it back it turned on for a bit, then shut back down and went into a boot loop. So I restarted it into recovery mode and tried to reload the is, but my boot loader is locked.
My main question is,
How can I unlock the boot loader through the recovery menu. Adb won't do anything until that's done. I've tried Google, I've also read through the first couple pages on here.
I forgot to mention, I did send it back in to oneplus to see what they could do, they told me I'd need 5 or 6 new parts due to water damage. I wonder if I never told them it was water damaged, if they'd still come to that conclusion. The phone boots into recovery. I can navigate through the menus.

Water damage can easily indicated when opening the device cause there are indicators like stickers that will be changing color to read when they come in contact with extreme moisture or water.
There's nothing you can do until they repaired the parts.
What help do you want now, it's to late imo
Thank you for the reply. I have the phone back un-repaired. It's still in a boot loop and I can still boot o recovery and see it in adb, but it won't transfer the files with the bootloader locked.
The help I'm asking for is, is there a way to unlock the boot loader without an OS being on the phone? if so, how?

Not possible. You need to allow oem unlock.
You could try this:
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/forum.x...uide-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3761706/amp/
It should work for almost any state. I haven't had the need to use it yet, but let me know if it works for you.
Cheers! ?

Please help! Soft bricked, unrooted, untouched, 100% stock phone brick during update

I am in need of serious help! I dropped my phone off a 2nd story, smashed the screen completely. So I took my wife's old stylo 2 plus (exact same phone) stuck my Sim and SD into it, registered through metro pcs, and it worked great.
I did software update because I was really excited (my old stylo 2 was rooted and had many problems along with being unable to update android software).
Update took about an hour, then said failed. After that it has been unable to boot up. I tried recovery mode, it offers to factory reset. Again reboots and stuck at logo screen. Says error device is corrupt, cannot be trusted, will not boot. I press power it says press power again to boot anyway. Restarts and sticks at logo screen. Device is basically untouched. No oem unlock, no debugging, no developer options, nothing has been touched ever, the phone is 100% stock. I even did factory reset before I started using the phone.
Can someone please help me at the least flash trip so I can fix this??
I am not new to this, but has been 5 years since I flashed anything. The problem is, is that it's still locked, and can't boot up. The phones bricked and never been touched!
If I can get twrp flashed I can go from there, I need a way to unlock it, or flash without unlocking.
Please help me I need my phone for work. I'd rather not switch back to an old smashed screen

You need to download the kdz(device firmware) and flash it in download mode using lg up.
Sorry for the super long delay. I did what you said, and was able to use my phone again in no time. Thank you very much!
