I Think I Bricked my phone - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

So i have G935A galaxy s7 edge att 32gb model, and when i was about to unroot my device, i got a [aboot] fuzed 4 > Binary 1 then i got an erro has ocurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software. I was running a custom rom, and so smart switch said my phone was unsupported when plugged in, i tried manually typing in model number and s/n. Smart Switch crashed. I dont know what else to do and am hella stressed.
UPDATE: I got the phone out of that because i couldnt turn it off, it would flash black screen. now it is stuck in recovery mode and im like freaking out
UPDATE 2: phone got ****ed and att replaced it haha thanks to everyone who tried to help

I've used Samsung Kies in the past to get me out of a couple jams. Try the emergency firmware recovery using that software and see how that goes. Not sure if its the same recovery that's in Smart Switch. Never used Smart Switch.

i tried kies, would glitch out and keep sayin enter model number when i already did

As said above, use Odin and flash original firmware.
I got an error once when flashing stock firmware, then I wiped the phone from stock recovery, and that worked.

Almost impossible to brick a phone with locked bootloader. Odin always work.

I think i bricked my new Samsung S7 edge help please ;_;

So i was rooting my phone with TMWP then my phone was encrypted so i used Odin with an original AP of my samsung device
in the progress of doing that i canceled the progress.
so now i keep getting An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch Pc software. so i did that but now i am at this step, telling me to put the phone in recovery mode but when i try to do that it keeps giving me the same error (An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch Pc software.)
Im freaking out right now if you guys could help PLEASE.

How are you getting to recovery mode?
Should be Vol Down + Home + Power all at the same time
Are you able to power off your device?
If not, press and hold Power + Vol Down until it vibrates or you see it turn completely off, then hold Home (while still holding Power and Vol Down).
Give that a shot to get to recovery.
I had this problem when i tried messing around with TMWP. I dont belive there is one for the S7 egde US models to my knowledge or at least not for att currently due to the us and international models having a different processors International having a Exynos 8890 and US models having a Snapdragon 820. Im pretty sure because of those having different processors TMWP needs to have a build for both processors to my knowledge fix me if im wrong.
Heres what i posted on another thread about trying to flash your phone back to stock and it not working.
Post:
So I would suggest going to this post here and downloading the ODIN 3.12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
I was trying to unroot for a clean root and this one worked for me the one made by PrinceComsy did not work for the flashing the stock ROM but it did work for flashing the ENG Boot ROM. I used 3 out of the 4 file to flash the stock rom I didn't select the BL file at all but you can if you want.
If this help you or you need further/help assistance please feel free to reply to this post

I had the same problem. It is a screen that says something along the lines of 'Update failed' or 'an error occurred during update'. It turned out for me that that actually was recovery mode just with the error screen. Plugging it into Kies on that screen allowed the emergency firmware to work and fix my phone.

I don't have your model of phone, I've got SM-S820L. Have you tried booting into ODIN mode?
If you haven't tried that, I would do so and try using ODIN to flash a firmware update. You will need Samsung Drivers, a new release of ODIN3, and Kies or Kies3.
There are some good guides on this site that can push you along your way to full recovery of your phone.:good:

NO CHANCE OF GETTING A NEW PHONE
I'm sending you a PM right now my friend!

hard brick my galaxy s7 edge (exynos - international). help please!!!

i was using a custom rom in a normal way without any problem.
three days ago i made wipe cache + wipe dalvik (using the last twrp) and restarted the phone and now i am left with "Samsung galaxy s7 edge.. powered by android" screen... i can go in download mode... tried to flash previous and latest stock firmwares... but it fails on odin and again after automatic restart its coming back on same screen... i tried to download orignal firmware from smart switch... and get error message from smart switch after downloading all the contents... and its still same ... what could be the possible solution? Can anyone help? I am able to boot in recovery mode now... before i had twrp recovery... now even stock recovery is not there... i tried to flash twrp recovery from odin..but it fails...
I took it to repair to an official technical service and they told me the motherboard is dead but i have to pay 361 because its rooted.
they can see it in recovery mode, of course.
I will say i dont want my phone to be repaired in order to take it to a different technical service.
My question is...
what can i do so that the phone doesnt start? even in download mode,???
If they can not get into download mode they can not see the famous "VOID WARRANTY x01" and in this way they would have to repair it anyway.
thank you very much for your help

Have you tried a different version of Odin? That did the trick for me. If you can still get into download mode it isn't considered hard bricked.

yes of course.
different odin versions, different cables, different usb connectors, different computers...EVERYTHING!!!!
Try to erase everything in recovery. Go to download mode and try different roms ( try an older firmware). Get the latest odin. Maybe you should try to write with odin your PIT file...

Galaxy S7 Edge G935F Custom Binary (RECOVERY) Blocked By FRP Lock

Hi everyone, my G935F doesn't turn on at all and when I try to flash stock it's always "Custom Binary (RECOVERY) Blocked By FRP Lock".
Can't get into Recovery, when I try to reboot I get "Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software" which doesn't work as well.
It seems that EVERYTHING is a Custom Binary and I can't flash anything at all. I was able to get to Recovery once and there was a red "dm-verity failed" line.
Is there anything I could try?

smart switch will work but you need to use the emergency initialization feature.
open smart switch, click more, emergency initialization.
click the second tab and then enter your phone which is SM-G935F hit search
then enter your model serial number which was on sticker on he back of the phone or where ever you have put that sticker for safe keeping.
then it start.
it talks between 5 - 10 minutes before your phone reboots. unfortunately you will lose any data that is not backed up to the cloud or your gmail account.
Use Smart Switch. Put your device in Download Mode. in the smart switch use emergency feature. then wrote down your model number just like this SM-G935F.. Check the back of your mobile. it's written there. Then give serial number it's already there. Then follow the instructions. Downloading will start. And boom it will take minutes to hours depending on your connection. Don't use Odin method. It's useless.
Thanks everyone. I know this has been discussed but as I mentioned previously Smart Switch doesn't work. Emergency initialisation stays at 0%, I've waited for more than an hour, says the same thing - blocked by frp lock.

Try a full wipe in recovery then try emergency again in Smartswitch.
If this still fails you may need a repair by samsung service center

Can't get to recovery, as I mentioned before.
KNOX is tripped by now, obviously, so I don't think Samsung will accept it.
Smart Switch tries to flash BTU so I've also tried downloading BTU and flashing HOME file via AP in Odin like the guy in the other thread suggested but it doesn't help - flashing is still blocked by FRP.
I'm starting to think I have a rather messed up phone on my hands right now.
Some progress here - was able to flash PIT file and flash up to system - now I get "Custom Binary (SYSTEM) Blocked By FRP Lock".

i have no problem with smart switch and started 1st time.
If you are using smart switch emergency feature it will not connect to smart switch, emergency feature is a stand alone app that does not need to connect smart switch to your phone.

then you have a hardware issue with the memory chip it is not keeping the firmware after rebooting.
It sends you back into a boot loop which should not happen.
Don't connect your phone with Smartswitch. Just open Smartswitch go to the emergency mode. Select it. Enter your Model number which is on your back of phone. Then it will ask you about serial number. which is also on the back of your phone. Then follow instructions

Tried to use Smart Switch to Upgrade to Nougat and it bricked my phone HELP!

I saw Nougat was out. Usually I do an Odin update, but didn't. Figured Smart Switch was fine.
It started. Then failed. Had me go into emergency recovery mode. That didn't work. Crashed.
Now my recovery/only screen says "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
I tried to use Odin with the latest firmware and it started for a second and then had an error and wouldn't continue.
Is my phone completely bricked?
If you have the Verizon variant, plug the S7 edge into a desktop or laptop, download and set up Verizon Repair Assistant, let it repair your phone and let us know how it goes.
