Unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped arter switching to ART - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, now I messed it up again.
On a XT907 who had only 514 MB free (clearing cache in Settings > Storage), I changed from Dalvik to ART wanting to know what would happen (expecting only good things).
First of everything, when it turned ON again, the RAZR M said:
Android is upgrading... X of 218
My face: (I only have installed MercadoLibre, a game -League of Angels: Fire Raiders-, Twitter, Facebook Lite, Banco Mercantil, Xapo and PayPal. Total: 7 apps). No mods, no root, no nothing.
After turning on (exactly 77 minutes after), it said:
Unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped
But also, on the Notifications bar, I have the symbol of Low Disk Space, so I assume memory got to 0 MB free.
I want to know: Can I recover my personal files from the Internal Memory? Or I just think they are lost and just use RSD Lite and re-install? (I tried with 4 USB Cables to connect it to a PC and it just charges, but no data connection)

Can you access settings menu?

Internal Memory issue - need help!

i am facing sever internal memory problem. A month ago while facing the same issue. It was around 400MB a month ago but it started going down on daily basis. Couple of days ago, it was 113MB and today i am hovering around 100MB.
Did not install any software, instead i am constantly uninstalling them. Checked via settings--->applications--->Manage applications and the largest application i have is "calendar storage" that is taking 46.55MB... facebook takes around 28MB and the if i count all the apps till the size of 1 MB, they are not more than 300MB. i don't think so that the remaining apps having a size of less than a MB will accumulate to 600MB.
Don't know what to do... please suggest...
I think any tries to answer would fail without having more details:
What ROM do you have? What have you tried so far? Can you try a factory reset?
A different ROM, maybe?

using HTC sense... did not root it... factory reset is an option but i am not sure whether it would help... also, anybody with any possible reasons so it can be avoided?
Froyo or Gingerbread?
Could be an app/service with a memory leak.
Maybe there is something corrupted in the system partition.
Did you experience any phone reboots/application crashes?
Do you have the latest over the air software update?
Is the phone up-to-date?
I'm no expert, I'm just trying to help.

Sense 2.1
Android 2.3.3
Since it's a UK based phone, HTC says 2.3.5 and sense 2.3 will be sent in couple of days.
I did not experience any unexpected reboots/application crash....
All of my software is bought from android market and i keep them updated.
Last night after posting this topic, i deleted couple of apps and the memory was increased to 123MB from 103... just checked now... (after 12hours), its already 116MB with the annoying memory notification on top bar....
I downloaded an app called "diskusage" that shows the following breakdown:
Applications: 296 MB
System Data: 753 MB
Free: 112 MB
As per my understanding, system data is the culprit... is it normal? and any suggestions to fix it?

If you would have had root, it would be simple: do a full backup, wipe the device and see if it happens again. If it does, restore from backup, you're back and didn't lose and info. In your case it's quite hard to find the cause.
Not sure you'll be able to find the cause without wiping out.
Maybe uninstalling apps one by one might work? It'll take time.
I have one question because I see you write "memory" but from the discussions it's not clear if you're talking of free RAM of storage space.
Memory normally means RAM but now I think you might be speaking of the storage space.
There is a big difference between the two.
The increase of data is due to apps that save a lot of things and almost never clean
Even when you uninstall
The good behaviour to have is the remove apps through the settings doing first : force stop app (if running) then remove data (which is causing your trouble) then uninstall app and only then
Because if you don't you have to parse manually your data and find what was kleft behind and remove it (requires root)
Download this app and see if it's able to clear a lot of data.

If nothing works, do a factory reset. Just make sure you've ticked both options under Settings>Privacy, so that you'll get back your apps when you sign in with your Google account. Also check that you've saved your contacts as Google contacts. Your SD card won't be erased unless you choose it.
That should clear any redundant files or whatever is hogging your space. It'll be a bit of work to set your phone up again, but it'll be as good as new.
nothing worked, i did the factory reset and memory is back to normal - showing 60MB of system data and 200 MB of application data... mybackup was pretty useful!
thanks all for your suggestions but i believe there was a leakage.

Reinstall CM7 & google apps & wipe data/factory reset in clockworkmod to fix your market issues. You want the version of google apps without the google talk video chat addon - that wont work on our blades - gb-20110828-signed.zip
This should fix your wifi: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21956461&postcount=88
i tried the exact method and downloaded the zip files again but i still cant see market installed also cant use wifi with the fix
Didn't the app work??

every thing is working except WIFI and market then i tried reverse tethering to access internet through PC and tried to download some thing from market but failed
infact i cant login to gmail account through gtalk app on the phone but i can do so with browser
Wipe data/factory reset in clockworkmod, then go into the mounts and storage menu & format /system then install cm7 then install gapps.
Formatting /system should do it (but you'll still have to wipe data & reinstall cm7).
It could be something hanging around from your old rom, I think the CM7 install script tries to keep some google apps, but if they're some old version it's no good.
Your market icon wont appear until you log in to your phone in to your google account, you can do that in the setup wizard which will appear after you wipe & reinstall.
Another possibility is that you've got a small system partition (under 145mb) & there isn't enough room for all the rom to be installed, the wifi driver is one of the last things to copy. Clockworkmod doesn't show any errors when it runs out of space.
thanks for support much appreciated but i have installed GSF mod and its working absolutely fine
sooner or later i will try again and will give the feedback accordingly
P.S. i have around 2.5GB free space so no point about space unavailability

Your phone only has 512mb of internal memory & that is partitioned. The rom is stored on the /system partition. If there isn't enough room on your /system partition then it doesn't matter what free space you've got elsewhere.
If you didn't change the size of your system partition then it wont be a problem, it starts off as 210mb & cyanogen just needs about 140mb. Some people change their system partition size to be 128mb or even less, to give them more room for their data, but it's no good for larger roms like Cyanogen.

[Q] Deleting partially downloaded app data?

Yesterday as I was trying out games that were compatible with my new bluetooth controller, I tried downloading The Dark Knight Returns (since it was a compatible game and I had purchased it when it was on sale some months back on the Play store). Well, apparently I did not have enough space to install the game unfortunately. So when it seemed as if it was near it's finish downloading, there was an error message that was on the status bar that let me know I did not have enough space. So the file did not finish downloading or installing. When I exited the install, i noticed that the storage space error was still present. So I restarted the phone. Still had the same error message and very minimal storage available when I checked the internal storage. I cleared the cache of the Play store, tried clearing dalvic cache on Titanium (wasn't sure if that'd work) and also looked in Root File Explorer for any files that may have been installed by the game. Couldn't find any files so I was unsure where they were located, but the storage was still low. I uninstalled one more app, went back to the play store, tried to continue installing, and it finished install this time. Then I quickly deleted the game and my storage space was back to normal. My question is this. Is there any way in the future where I can delete this data without having to complete an install? I am rooted on JB 2.1.1. I have Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, and some other tools. This storage error has happened on a couple different occasions and I'm wondering if there is still some partially downloaded app data still on the phone somewhere using up space. I have been unsuccessful in my search for an answer to what seems to be a fairly simple problem, but then again maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Any help would be great!
Thought this would be an easy one that somebody would have solved. No?

I would assume its partial download data... No idea how to fix it other than guesstimating your free space and how much the app needs tho...
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
I'm going to try to do that, but my estimation of available space is not always correct since some apps require more space than necessary to install. I'm referring more to what has already been done so that I can remove anything that may currently be partially installed or downloaded.

[Q] Cannot Update/Download Apps

I have a fairly new (rooted) Droid Razr M and I have been trying to download the update to Chrome, which is only 20MB. It downloads completely, though as soon as it hits 100% a window appears telling me that I have insufficient disc space. However, that is not true.
I have 700MB used / 3.90GB free on my internal disc, so I don't understand why I can't download a 20MB update..
I have also tried to download a new app, Easy Cache Cleaner, to possibly help with this dilema and even that wouldn't download. Plus, it's only 640KB!!..
I've already tried clearing the caches for all my apps, then restarted. Cleared even more space, but didn't help with my issue. I am simply stumped.. Can anyone offer some advice or suggestions??
Thanks!

[Q] Some apps refused to install

Are any of you having an issue with some apps not installing? I initially get an "insufficient space" error (despite having 3GB free on the internal) and on subsequent installs, I get an error popup with "Unknown error code during application install: "-24" Nothing on google about this specific error code. Oddly enough, my updates go through fine and I can download most apps, and the three apps I have seen this issue with are google apps - Google Camera, Google Docs and Google Sheets. Google Docs actually did install fine once, but as part of my troubleshooting I tried uninstalling it and now it won't reinstall.
I have cleared the play store app's data and cache, as well as cleared cache via recovery and via app cache cleaner. Error still sits there.
Anyone successfully install the three apps I refer to? Or run into insufficient space or "-24" error?
Here is a screen shot of.the error message. I didn't get one of the insufficient space message.

I also took the additional step of clearing data and cache from play services as well. No luck, still getting those errors. Anyone have any idea?

I take it I can't use this fix unless rooted? What about via ADB?
