Hi, i believe some of you remember that i am switching from X1 to HD2... Well, i have changed it and i'm using it now (love the big screen)
I was wandering around this forum... I saw a post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578575&highlight=dualboot
What does it actually means by: "ANDROID/MAEMO/LINUX on HD2"
Is it that when i flashed it, my Windows OS platform is gone for good???
Then... ... I searched deeper. LOL, and notice this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623792
I am very very attracted to the DualBoot... Thats actually i wanted for my HD2.
Well, thats not my main question/request...
A troublesome request will be appearing after this sentence, i hope that you guys wouldn't feel fed-up. *(Apologize to you first)*
The most important question... Is it compatible for HD2??? If its not, sorry for this post.
If it is compatible, could someone spare me their time to guide me along the step and procedures to install the android OS and then the DualBoot.
If possible, mind attaching/link the required file for this whole process.
A million thanks to you guys. Sorry if i speak a bit to harsh
P.s. Sorry if there is a guide already up there in the forum . I'm a student and need to study for my test, didn't have time to search so many pages
I don't mind if you copy/paste the guide here... Just attach the required files needed.
Thanks once again

I would like to advice you to read more of the ANDROID/MAEMO/LINUX on HD2 thread. You'll see that it still is in full development. For android to work developers need to create a custom kernel that will run on the HD2 using Haret. There is no question of a nand flash of android as of yet.
Now even with the use of Gen.Y dualboot, if you are not able to boot into android, the application in itself is still useless (on HD2). Furthermore, the dual boot application does in fact start your windows mobile Rom but directly start Haret instead of completely loading windows mobile (correct me if i'm wrong please).
So to sum up. Don't worry about flashing over windows mobile. This isn't possible (yet). Running android is not working (yet). And even with the use of Gen.Y dualboot, you'd still run windows mobile as a flashed rom and not Android itself.
I do have to ask though. If you just got the phone and already want Android.. why didn't you get an android phone? Ofcourse if you are like me and just like to tinker with your phone I can understand .

There are many threads already speculating about windows 7 coming to the HD2
Windows phone 7 will not support sense IU
There are also threads investigating porting android to the HD2, also worth a read
Its always worth searching before posting as there is a great deal of information on this site
most importantly WELCOME TO XDA
Thanks a lot for the quick reply ,will go have a look at the other threads now
will post back here again in case I need anything else

If you take a look into the Android lot of your questions will be solved by reading the sticky thread.
Important: Fore be able to run Android you need at least a Radio version 2.08.50.05!!!!
Your question about witch version is a little bit misplaced. there is nothing like bad ore good.
All depends on your needs/wishes. Take a look on release date to have the latest one!

HTC HD2 Clone Dual Sim Touch Screen problem

Hi guys,
I have HTC HD2 Dual Sim. I have updated system for update.zip and after that touch panel doesn't work. I don't have orjinal file to make update.zip . İ think my device is Tops HD2/HD9. Does anyone know a way to work touch screen?
Thanks...
HD2 clone has different hardware structure. Its a DIFFERENT being
You shouldnot upgrade ANY of the files in XDA HD2 subforum, which was mean for original HD2. Sorry to say, I think your devices is semi brick

Congratulations. This is your prize for been a dumbass and flashing software to a device it was never meant for.
A HD2 clone is NOT a HD2, It just "looks" like one.
there's no such thing as HD2 dual sim. it's a clone. do you seee anything about it on the HTC official site? no! why do you think that is?
the Clone is just a different device disguised as an HD2. so it has different hardware and software specs. meaning it also needs different drivers. Flashing anything that's meant to be for HD2 is like somehow managing to install windows drivers on a mac OS, it won't work.
if you took a little time around the forum you'd have seen threads started by users with a clone, and all were told not to use anything that was meant for the HD2.
in your case it might be too late.
I know it isn't orginal HTC and it has different hardware. I didn't upgrade any orginal rom. I have used it's update files from this page bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.c*m
I just want to learn that does the touch panel need a driver or file for android?
I don't know, and I'm sure lots don't as well.
you have to look for people who actually got it working and see how they did it.
it probably needs some file in the kernel. but I don't recommend you start trying them out. I'm pretty baffled how you got android running in the first place.. unless it came with your device which means you shouldn't have tried updating anything.
if you can't get it back to what it was before, does it return to "original android" when hard reset? because that's what I think you should do.

[Q] Newby questions - flashing Android

Hello
I am a completly newby relating to flashing Android to a HD2.
I've read several articles/postings but still am not sure, what I should exactly do. My device still has Windows Mobile 6.5 on it. And i want to permanently replace it with Android (only, no dual boot).
Should i go for NAND in that case?
Is there a completly tutorial available for a completly noob like me, how to securely flash Android on a HD2?
The ROM should be fast with a good battery life, dont need to have an overloaded device...
Thanks so much
Dominik
