I love the UI and the smoothness ... everything on Kitkat, but I cant live without manual control which can set iso and shutter speed separately with zezadas camera mod on lollipop. So can anyone tell me that there is a camera mod that has similar features like the zezadas camera please. thank you in advance

Ok, thank you!
I enabled camera 2 api and I am experiencing a crazy battery drain with mokee ROM. Is it normal? The battery drops 10 % in a matter of 10min and the phone gets really hot
How many of the manual settings stated in the manual camera compatibility app are supported after enabling camera2 api?

But RAW pictures are buggy on our phone, atleast on my phone
Edit: I had 3 reboots within a short time while opening camera apps since I've edited the build.prop. I'm on official RR, but the camera2 features are working fine (except raw), thanks for sharing!

Camera fv-5, snap cam (from play store), open camera and a lot others, they have to support camera2 api. On some camera apps you have to enable it manually in the settings. Then you can control shutter speed and some other things. I've attached also a picture, on the left side the shutter speed is short and on the right side the shutter speed is a lot longer. So for "normal" pictures you won't need manual controls, but in some cases it can be useful.

Can u plz show the ss of build prop after the edit? And the settings in any camera app?
Thanks for the guide.....this has solve the problem of reboot while using third party camera apps......google camera is also working without any problem
At least. MANY DIGITAL COOKIES TO THE OP. This was a thing that I was asking before even buying the phone. Many thanks to the OP.
Hmm I am using Snap Camera with camera2 API. Best thing) But it's need to activate camera2 in the Snap Camera settings (menu--"other"tab--go down and check Camera2 API string). Nice manual focus and manual settings in the HDR mode) Snap camera may a RAW format. There opens in built-in viewer and (who installed) can be pen into Snapseed editor.
Example of the photo in HDR mode with manual settings) Sorry for my curved hands and academical English)))
My curved hands cannot make good man ual photos yet)) Who knows Russian - you can check 4pda.ru forum--Redmi Note 3 Pro Camera branch. http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=750102&st=860 Many people tested this hint and VEEEEERY pleasured)))
Hey guys, does this phone work with manual camera apps? Like, can you download a manual camera app and then adjust the shutter speed, ISO, etc...?
Since it's running on Android you can install any app which is compatible with the version of Android. Simple answer is yes you could.
Yep I am running 'Open Camera' on my YD201 and latest EU build Android 5 it works just fine. Open Camera is a no bull**** tool with all the usual photographic controls, iso zoom etc. Shoots HD video, flash etc. Should work on YD206 as hardware is the same except the radio. It is not a great camera (hardware) by any means there are much better devices out there... but it is functional.
Hi, I was wondering if there is any 3rd party camera app that could enable manual camera controls such as ISO selection and shutter speed?

Good question, i had issues with this too (coming form Nokia Lumia with manual controls) , now this android camera seems lame.
So this is almost the best i could come up with overall quality of pictures and features : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
Apart from that Pro shot is a good app too but i cant find a way to go above 12 MP in that app which is a dud for the powerful 16 MP we have as a rear cam.
Thank you surya, do you happen to know what's the shutter speed range with those apps?

Hi!
If we're talking about 3rd party camera apps, they are dependent on how well the manufacturer of the phone has implemented the Camera2 API into Android that was introduced with Lollipop. If the Camera2 API has not been implemented properly the developers can't really do a lot in terms of manual controls (shutter speed etc) because the system doesn't give them access to it. You can test the level of Camera2 support on your phone with the app "Camera2 probe". The hardware support levels are "Legacy" (worst), "Limited", "Full" and "Level 3" (best). Would be interesting to know the results if you test it. Depending on the level of implementation, you can run certain apps or not or have certain manual controls available or not. If you use "Open Camera", you have to activate Camera2 features in the settings, it's not switched on by default.
Hope this helps a bit.
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fgnm.baconcamera&hl=en
NOt based on camera2 api though..
Using camera2 probe -
Model : TA-1003
Build Version : 7.1.1
SDK version : 25
Hardware level category : Level 3
Exposure : All exposures are ticked.
Focus - Auto Focus EDOF is not ticked but all else is.
Whitebalance - All whitebalance options have been ticked
RAW capture is available.
So the TA-1003 is able to access the camera features properly, all except the Auto Focus EDOF.
There may be a discrepancy with the TA-1000 so someone with that model can try...
Cheers guys...

Good to see it has the best implementation level (Level 3).
So can you shoot in raw? If yes, this would be one of the cheapest phones with raw!
This app shows what is supported: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera2_compatibility_test
Could anyone post the result?
Any news?
Raw is supported and tweaked google camera hdr+ works. Quality is amazing.
Does anyone know a third-party app that manual mode really functions? I tried asus pixelmaster but after some time adjusting the preferences it becomes buggy. I just need something that has shutter speed.
Not much into camera stuff, but AFAIK Gcam does support it and open camera (FOSS).
Try one plus camera
You can try one plus camera. Not the best but does the job. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/themes/app-collection-camera-modded-t3591177
