Hey guys, I'm stock, rooted, s-off with magisk and I'd like to be on Lee Droid or Viper Nougat with working Magisk and Verizon features. The way I'm reading their guides, it seems I would have to be on Nougat firmware for that. Does that mean I can convert to US Unlocked Nougat with updated firmware, then to Lee Droid or Viper Magisk and pass safety net while having nougat and advanced calling and such?
Thanks guys
I'd love to know the answer to this as well. I don't have many friends using Verizon, so I don't use the Verizon features much. I'm just kind of tired of Verizon being slow with their updates. For some reason I keep being stupid and buying Verizon phones despite the long updates for 4 different phones that have been on Verizon. :/
you guys have to flash the US unlocked RUU and then flash the Verizon radio for it to work. From what I've read you'll have the features you want. But since I haven't personally tried I cannot be 100%. there is guides on how to do this.
IMHO, I would wait for Verizon, it is always best to use your carriers firmware. It wont be much longer even though itll feel like a lifetime.
I'd love to get a confirmation on this as well. I can say however from my own experience that running VZW firmware with viper10 4.x.x ROM that everything works great EXCEPT volte (HD calling/ advanced calling features) I'd like to mention to others who are experimenting as well that I can format data, flash 3.5.0 and have volte back up and running no problem. My theory is the issue lies in the VZW firmware being a MM version. My next step is to flash the nougat RUU, flash the VZW radio, and then the viper nougat ROM. I'll share the results once I get the chance to do everything. Again if anyone can chime in on this method that would be greatly appreciated.
ROMs now support Advanced Calling with Magisk.
now just need vzw nougat.

Did you do anything special when you installed the ROM? Could you tell me what steps you took installing it? Just wondering if I'm missing something. I have the latest VZW firmware installed as well. Are you positive that advanced calling is working? I notice that when you make a call the data signal icon will remain on the status bar (unless you go into venom tweaks and change it to anything other than the stock icon, then it will disappear) but there won't be any traffic and I can confirm it by trying to load a web page.

That's what it's looking like to me. With some work it is possible to get ROMs working on MM firmware with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling. Santods rom has had this for a little bit and now with this new information, if one was to say combine both, the outcome is great. But I'll leave that to those more experienced than myself, but it is possible now thanks to all these brilliant minds.

Even better. Didn't realize that 4.6.0 was out, so I don't know of the change log.
Wasn't bragging by any means also.. Was just stating that it works, and was sure smarter devs would get it soon.
I can confirm that the viper 4.6.0 upgrade does fix volte for vzw devices running mm firmware. The changelog says only working for non magisk version, I suppose that's due to no nougat firmware/RUU released from Verizon yet. If that's a deal breaker your gonna have to wait, otherwise make sure your running the supersu only version. I upgraded from 4.5.0 and it works perfectly. Something I've noticed over the last few months with all the flashing I have done is that if you go into the hidden network info screen, if it shows 3107 for your carrier, it won't work, if it says Verizon wireless as your carrier, then everything is working as it should. Thanks for the update in the rom guys this is GREATLY appreciated for the hard work.

Guys, Android Nougat 7.1 is now available for all Snapdragon variant Galaxy Note 4s (which of-course include N910P Sprint variant) and as a result, I'm sharing here the link of the thread from where you can get an insight about the latest development of the ROM & other things.
The link is :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-t3495231
Kindly thank & support @hsbadr for all his hard work & time devotion for the ROM.
(I'm in no way to be associated with this ROM as this is solely the work of @hsbadr. All the credit goes to him for it).
The ROM works quite well on unlocked variant of N910P model with a GSM SIM Card.
Users on a Sprint network need to check about the feasibility of the ROM.
If anyone is interested in trying out the ROM, then kindly thanks @hsbadr & have a look at the below mentioned steps that I took to make it work on my N910P model using a GSM SIM Card.
1. This ROM even works on newest PJ1 bootloader & baseband. So, you can try it out without worries if you have taken the latest OTA update.
2. Perform a full nandroid backup of the current ROM.
3. Wipe all the partitions 3 times (except Micro SD Card) using latest TWRP recovery.
4. Download the ROM, GApps & Boot.img from the above thread mentioned & flash it in the following order:
a. ROM
b. GApps
c. Boot.img
5. Wait for the ROM to boot (it may take upto 15-20 minutes to boot, so be patient).
6. Complete the setup.
7. Enjoy Nougat on your device. :good:
Bug(s) that I've encountered:
1. YouTube videos have no sound on Bluetooth headset/plugs.
Kindly keep all the discussions related to N910P variant on this thread only so as to keep that thread clean.
The ROM is primarily meant for Verizon variant but works well with other variants too.
Will def have to check this out, Thanks!

I'm using this ROM. The boot.img is not necessary to flash. Just flash the ROM and gapps like any other CM variant. I use sprint and had to fiddle with the *#*#4636#*#* menu for data/SMS to work and have to toggle airplane after a reboot but for an early build it's great. Battery has been wonderful. Other than the mentioned streaming issue (issue isn't present when streaming over Bluetooth) I've only run into GPS being fickle.

For me, the audio did not work with or without a Bluetooth headset.
Now, I'm not able to place any call (without any Bluetooth device) even when there is good network.
Also, Couldn't hear any voice even on Chrome, but yes, for an early build, the work is definitely amazing by the developer.

Thanks, I finally seen that info in change log. But from what I've read in last few post, it looks like latest build has some extra bugs. So i think I'll try the trlte build for now.
That's what i took from it anyhow.
Does it matter which gapps i use? (Eg. Aroma, full, micro?)
I'm heading to work, so when i get more time I'll try, and maybe try root and exposed.

Don't believe xposed works on 7.1 yet, root hasn't been an issue at all for me. I did flash supersu 2.78 though instead of using the cm root. For gapps I used the micro since it was small to avoid conflicts but still had exchange included.
Not sure if it effects just the N910P model or not, but trying to access any .webm files crashes the entire phone. I can't even open the gallery up or it crashes.

What is a webm file? I'll test on mine if I can get one.
I just got around to installing. Anyone else having problems using root with default file manager? I can't open any thing but internal. But fx file works with root.
So it must be file manager
I downloaded the CM 14.1 and it works fine but I couldn't download gapps from github because for me this site downloads don't work.
So I didn't test a lot of things just make some calls (CDMA Carrier) and take some tour in system settings then I returned to Touchwiz rom again.
I want to use Nougat on my HTC 10. I have the verizon version of the phone, but don't mind converting to any other version if necessary (or just easier) to move to Nougat.
I've been reading for days, but can't find any solid, complete information on how to do this, or really if even possible. I've found lots of pieces of the puzzle, but nothing that lists the steps, or requirements for making this work.
If you know how to get a Verizon phone working on Nougat firmware and have a working phone and data, I'd love to know EXACTLY how you managed to do so. If I can't have advanced calling right now, that's okay with me, but I do need a working phone and data at a minimum.
I've installed PMEUHL_2.28.401.9 firmware and LeeDroid_ROM_Nougat_HTC10_R21, but had to change the phone to SuperCID 1111111 to get it to install. I also had to change the firmware packages' android.txt file to have the MID match the phone (MID2PS650000).
I have everything running, but have no phone or data, so I'm stuck with wifi only at this point.
I don't mind if I have to wipe the phone again to get it working (I'd rather not), so long as I can use the phone on Verizon again.
Is it possible I just need to flash the verizon radio at this point, or do I just need to start from scratch?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Have you tried formatting data?
In TWRP > wipe > format data > (type) yes
(do at own risk, it won't hurt anything, just will wipe your internal. you ARE warned)
------------------
Side note, Advanced Calling only works on one ROM, and that is @santod040 amazing port found here
I run SuperCID all the time, It's suggested to do 22222222 instead of 11111111 but not a biggie at all.
I run Verizon firmware with multirom. I have my stock ROM as primary (this is a must) and then I can flash any N ROM as a secondary.
I have ICE N ROM, Leedroid N ROM, Santods ROM, AOKP MM and CM 14.1 all loaded up and working great with data.

wifi calling and video calling seem to be bugged but the advanced calling is active for hd voice
id do it this way until Verizon updates, itll be soon.
Might just stay on MM, Idk I'm torn. If NuSense has VZW features working bug free I'll give that a shot

On the Downloads tab of the HTC 10 TWRP thread, there is an unofficial version of TWRP v3.0.2.7 which supports Nougat firmware. If you're still on Marshmallow firmware and use a Nougat ROM on it, you still might want to use the official TWRP v3.0.2.6.

When I was running N I couldn't browse the web and be on a phone call simultaneously. Also, HD calling and video calling did work for me. This was on LeeDroid N and I also tried Viper 2.4.0 with the same results.
Viper Nougat 4.x.x works perfectly fine on VZW Marshmallow firmware, except no advanced calling (wifi calling and VoIP).
Make sure to choose 6.0.1 firmware in the last option of Aroma to have fingerprint scanner working, as well as mobile data. (if you are on MM firmware!!) ROM does NOT install firmware.

Is G930AUCS4BQE1 (May 24/25 2017) the latest SMG930A firmware?
I'm on a factory-provisioned SMG930V (Verizon) and and looking for the latest U(nlocked) and A(T&T) firmware, to try them each out and see how they play.
Also related, as I understand it, the 5th letter from the right ("4" in the above example) indicates the bootloader version, which cannot be downgraded. Is that correct? i.e. I couldn't go to G930AUCS2APH1, which has v2 of the bootloader?
Thanks.
You are correct about the bootloaders, and the most recent OTA for ATT is QH1 from August. But we should be seeing Sept leak soon, and hopefully beta 7.1 as the Note8 is suposidly shipping with 7.1
As far as the U firmware goes, I personally dont keep up with that as I didnt want to give up videocalling/volte and cannot do without wificalling.

Thank you very much.. I need to do some more research on U vs. A firmware, it seems. one of my big pet peeves is the carrier bloat. Has your AT&T phone got much bloat?
Also, regarding wificalling, am I correct to presume that it's integrated with the phone itself, and not just another form of something like the Google Hangouts Dialer?
My phone has all the bloat froze or disabled, so its managable. You can search on here for a debloating app or script.
as for wifi calling, its cooked into the rom, but no one has been successful in getting it to actually function on ATT.

I came across this, which suggests there are fixes/patches that can be used (and one person insinuating they've done so) to get wifi calling operable on the U firmware:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68011352&postcount=36
I've got a couple of debloat scripts in my S7 folder; just prepping the final path of whether I to A or U firmware... I've heard that the U firmware should be (carrier) bloat-free, but no wifi; I'm using a V model on AT&T so the AT&T would be useful, but I"d need to deal with carrier bloat.
Have you found that OTAs still work properly, after freezing or disabling bloatware, or have you had any adverse impacts to functionality?
mine works fine no issues. And that thread is for verizon's wifi calling which is different from ATT. It would also require root.

Actually, it's in the Verizon section, but it's about taking a Verizon model to Unlocked firmware.
If you are on the U firmware, flash S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_Debloater_V15.zip then Verizon_VVM_Volte_Wifi_Calling_G935U_Fix.zip
Note: I realize it says G935U, but it works on the G930U firmware as well.

You are probably stucked because you upgraded to the latest bootloader:

Here's a workaround:
Backup your present baseband on TWRP, flash ALEXNDR Oreo's ROM then restore your baseband, otherwise you won't have mobile signal and your IMEI will be unknown.
So in theory the only way to downgrade to Oreo or less, is having the bootloader unlocked with TWRP right? if not, you're stuck
No Bootloader downgrade. Not possible.

Quick question for you @nemesisexsp as you seem to know what you're talking about.
I'm in the same boat as OP. attached is my SOFTWARE INFORMATION section with my baseband and whatever. Slightly different to what you've posted on your screenshot.
Can you suggest which files I should use from the ALEXANDR Oreo Mod selection? also, just the ROM, or do i need to do something with the BL files also?
I'm rooted (with TWRP), so that shouldn't be any issue.

I suggest you flash the last Oreo ROM available for the S8 model (SM-G950F/FD). After you flash it you can boot normally in the ROM and see if your mobile signal is fine, if it isn't just restore your PIE baseband on TWRP.

I suggest you flash the last Oreo ROM available for the S8 model (SM-G950F/FD). After you flash it you can boot normally in the ROM and see if your mobile signal is fine, if it isn't just restore your PIE baseband on TWRP.
Here's the original post in _alexndr thread where you can find the ROM link:

Thanks for the quick response.
I made backups via TWRP just incase, but it looks like everything worked. [see image]
Thank you
It's also got me thinking...
-could you install other custom roms that are Oreo-based?
-What makes Alexndr's rom special?
-Is it technically possible to install stock oreo?

I think you can install other ROMs. I just suggested _alexndr because it's as close to stock as possible as the OP was trying to flash via Odin. But i believe that we can't install older firmware via Odin due to the updated bootloader.

Yes, many thanks.
I was trying to get as stock as possible but only found a NOTE8-to-S8 rom and nothing else stock-y. This seems perfect.

Because Pie is absolute trash on the S8 Active. Battery life went way down hill, constantly stutters like the CPU is loaded or it is thermal throttling, notification screen blanks preventing you from see any in the bar. Tapping notification doesn't always open. They ruined the camera UI. Control via bluetooth doesn't work anymore(forget the name but used to when I started my car it would automatically open Pandora and play. Instead now I have to unlock the phone and open Pandora manually".
I only wouldn't be surprised if it come out later that Samsung pulled and able and deliberately crippled devices to encourage upgrades. Joke's on them because my upgrade will be a different brand.

Unfortunately the S8 Active did not come in an exynos version AFAIK.
@nemesisexsp wondering, have you noticed much battery diff between Oreo and Pie?
Does anyone know where the Alpha Omega ROM threads are?
I'm on AO Oreo on both the US996 and VS995.
I was going to search in them for GPS issues (on the VS995), but I can't find the threads.
Anyone know where I can find some GPS help and/or AO Rom thread?
Unfortunately, it seems that the dev requested the threads to be removed, probably after being bothered too much by users, even though it was clearly stated that the work was discontinued long ago. I've only been able to find archived versions of the first pages for AO Nougat and AO Oreo. And you can still find the ROM files on AndroidFileHost here.
And FWIW, although it's not my main V20, I never had GPS issues on my US996 on AO Oreo.

Thanks on both acounts.
It is unfortunate the dev choose to drop his rom and no longer provide support. I still run it as my daily.
Yeah, the only problem I have with it is since Verizon rolled out a new update I lost WiFi calling on a clean install. Does anyone know a trick to make it work? Mis also considering performing the update. But I don't know what the consequences could be. I want to at least get my second v20 up and running.

I think the hybrid Oreo variant is based on the VS995 and was released before official Oreo existed for the US996. I don't own an F800, but you could probably just try the more updated VS995 version.

Yes, the latest 1.3.1 version. As always, make a backup of your current setup before trying this. And you may need to be a on a VS995 TWRP version to get the installer to work. I also heard that some users of other V20 models had problems installing Alpha Omega on TWRP versions higher than 3.2.3-4, so keep that in mind.

Yeah, look for the 3.2.3-4 for the VS995 under the old versions in that TWRP thread.

You can find it under the "Old versions" section and "3.2.3-4: 2018-10-18" in the first post of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-3-1-1-2019-10-25.3720239/
Sometimes, AndroidFileHost can't find a mirror for some old files, but if you keep refreshing and trying again, a mirror should eventually show up.

I think the constant vibration during boot-up is a side-effect for all VS995 ROMs, and there may not be any workaround for that. US996 ROMs don't have that problem, but I don't know how compatible they would be for the Korean models.
