Was posted on reddit today, haven't seen it here I think.

TL;DR:
You can now have DND with vibration.
Slider in normal position. Hold volume down while pushing notification slider all the way up and down again very fast. It should be in vibration mode now.
Very nice trick, it was so boring to have to use the screen to change from with/without vibration.
I now fear that I will destroy the slider very quickly now
Let's hope it will soon be possible to achieve this just by pushing "vol down" as it was before :'(
(and vol down again to remove vibration, even in normal mode, just as it was before the 3 modes were created in Android)
i dont get it what is old vibration mode? i get vibration mode via slider? its silent

Sound + vibration -> Vibration -> no sound at all
That's how I would like to use the slider
For now it is :
sound + vibration -> some hell where there is sound for some and not for others -> no sound (and maybe vibration if configured so, but not switchable easily)

Totally agree! Or just give us the option to REALLY control the slider?
Is it just me or this is not possible anymore in 4.0.3?

Lol not working for me either anymore xD
The tip works but it's quiet binding and painful.
Natively, it works. You put the physical button up (Silent) then you push the down volume button (and you keep the button pushed) and finally you place the physical button on normal mode. The "Vibrate mode" should ingage. If not, try again. It always work for me. A bit ****y isn't it?
Or...you install an application like "Sound Toggle" and it will do the trick via a widget.
Nope, it's not a bug, it'a a functionnality. ^^

Try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/themes/easy-to-vibration-mode-nougat-t3559124
I use Power Toggles. Add the Volume toggle to the widget and you can go ring, silent, vibrate modes.

Hi all
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to disable the volume slider button? As its in and out of my pocket its always changing the sound settings and its annoying, especially when it gets knocked down to silent and I miss an important call. I would just like to change the settings using the sound icon on screen and for it not be affected by the slider.
Thanks
try smartskey?
have you tried smartskey? One of the functions of this freeware is "Remap volume slider to page up/down" , this should be ok for your purpose, i think?

Hi
Yes, that works a treat. Thanks.
Again I find myself posting cos the HD just doesnt cut it
I need a wuick way to get the phone to silent mode, (Im always in and out of lectures). On all my previous phones (mostly Nokia) I could assign this to the left button.
But . . . .on the HD,
I have to scroll real carefully along the TF3D scroll bar.
Find (and usually pass by) Settings.
Tap Sound
Tap Silent
And then press the power button
I mean come on, please tell me there is a quicker way ????
You can click on the volume rocker then tap silent.

You can install the Diamond Tweaks cab and set the phone to silence when it is flipped over. Seems to work fairly well on the HD. Under section 1. Call is 1.4 Mute Call, just enable it hit ok and soft reset your phone. (not all these tweaks work on the HD, but most do)

I dont think it mutes the phone when it is flipped over.. atleast it doesnt for me, using DIamond tweak... it does however allow you to flip over a ringing phone which will in turn mute it.
Somehow when my phone is 0 volume, the vibration is not working
The vibration is not working when the back and menu buttons are pressed.
The vibration is not working when I get a text.
The vibration is not working when I get a call.

For Vibration on back and menu key tick haptic feedback from sound
Vibration on call and text enable from sound / "vibrate when ringing"
Messages -> if this does not work check message / setting / notification setting and enable vibrate from there
Calls -> settings / call / call settings / ringtones and keypad tones enable vibrate
Also check this myte be bcoz of "power saving mode" enable
Hope this helps

This fixed the vibration when messaged or called, thanks!
This did not fix the back and settings buttons from vibrating on touch, even though haptic feedback is checked.

Welcome :good:
How do I remove the long press power button sounds while on lock screen?
When my lock screen is active and I long press my power button the phone plays the default notification sound. I have Xposed installed and maybe one of the tweaks has turned this notification sound on, not sure. Anyways, its annoying and I would like to disable.
Any ideas?

When I go into the system settings and pick sounds I see the standard notification sound. I do not see a place to turn off notification tones.
I do see how you can select a default notification sound and I can pick silent but its weird this seamed to just start happening.
I'm i missing something?

Just follow the below procedure,

Its not the unlock sound. If I turn on the unlock sound it makes a little blip sound.
It's actually the default notification sound. And it only happens when I long press the power button when the lock screen is on.
If I long press the power button with the phone unlocked it doesn't make the sound. If I change the default notification sound to something else it plays that sound. So its definitely the default notification sound.
Sometimes I'm at a movie or in a work meeting and want to quickly mute the sounds on the phone. So I used to just long press on the lock screen. Now it plays the sound which is distracting to everyone around.
Any more ideas?
Here is another interesting thing.
If I go into gravity box and click power twaeks there is a disable power menu on locks option.
If I check that option the power menu does not appear like expected but the notification sound is still there when I long press the power button.

I was all ready to factory reset and noticed there is now a system reset option. So I performed a reset settings. Everything is now back to normal. And I did not have to load my apps again, very nice!

Yes all fixed, and it was very strange. I think it might have been xposed additions. I was playing with re mapping buttons and might have triggered an app with the long press on the lock screen.

Check Settings-> Accessibility -> Accessibility Shortcut if its on, you may want to try switching it off. Should fix your problem.

Thank you so much buddy. It worked!
This is the best work around I've found. I've tried this with power toggles but it should also work with other apps.
On your power toggle widget, add the volume toggle.
On the widget, press the volume toggle once. Your phone will go into priority mode. Press it again and you should be in silent mode.
Reactle's Light flow will also push LED's in this mode so its just like the silent mode in KK.
I've tested most of the social networking apps plus incoming phone calls, Google messenger, Whatsapp and Email. Phone remains silent, screen does not light up ( have ambient display enabled on my N5 so that lights up) and LED is pushed through.
Let me know if this works
Cheers
J.
Doesn't work for me, I can only switch between Priority mode (I guess, the star symbol appears in the notification bar) and ringer+vibration. I have to use the hardware volume button to bring up the volume menu, then choose priority mode (click it away without doing changes) and then I can use Power Toggles to set it to vibrate only or completely mute. This works only one time, so when I get back to vibrate+ring I have to go through the whole process again when I want the phone to be silent.
But this is the second time I installed Lollipop. The first time I did a rollback to KK shortly after, but during the first install the sound noticeably crackled during toggling and I also could get it to vibrate only, but not mute completely.
Since then Power Toggles received an update which brings the behaviour I mentioned first in this post, I reported this to the dev.
Good thing now is that you can toggle data connection with the actual version which didn't work before (needs Root).
Can you tell what your Power Toggles settings are or maybe upload a backup file?
EDIT:
I just tried out the Power Toggles Volume Slider and this one is working! You press it and it brings up a window with all the volume modes to choose from, it's two clicks and you have the phone in silent, vibrate, ring or ring+vibrate!
Two drawbacks though:
-Doing this leaves a card in the recen app slider
-The Power Toggles widget doesn't change so you only know if you're in priority mode (muted, star symbol in notification bar) or on vibrate (vibrate symbol in notification bar).
If you're on ring only or vibrate and ring there is no hint on the homescreen or the widget. You kinda have to open the slider menu again to be sure.
I have to try out later if all this really works and isn't just some optical feedback without any function.
That's strange, clicking on one of the toggles on the widget should not leave a recent app in the slider. It doesn't for me, never has.
I can tell I am in silent mode by looking at the PT Toggle. When in silent, it will show a struck out speaker. Otherwise it appears as normal.
Once again. this is the best workaround I could find and it's working flawlessly for me, so I thought I should share.

The recent app appears in the slider when I use the Volume Slider Toggle. This is also the only way I can mute the phone.
Maybe you can upload your PT config so I can have a look how you did set it up?
Attaching a screenshot. The rightmost toggle is the volume toggle.

Yes, for some reason I am having a different effect than you have, I can only switch between ring only and ring+vibration...I hope PT gets antoher update pretty soon.

Same here
Tried it on a couple of Nexus devices. Worked on all. Tried it on the OnePlus One today and worked as well.
Toggling the switch once is priority, what happens when you toggle it again? Does the volume icon strike out?
Notification toggle works like a charm.
I just found out you actually have to DEACTIVATE the ring+vibrate function in the Power Toggles "Volume Toggle" settings to get it working "properly"
Now I can switch between vibrate+ring / vibrate+ring in priority mode (star in status bar, no idea what kind of use this has) / silent (also with star in status bar) / vibrate only (with vibrate symbol in status bar)
Even though PT got the hiccups this week for some reason, had calendar notification sounds when it was on vibrate only and some other weird behaviour. A couple of reboots solved the problem so far.
Still, PT needs a huge update.
