Does the HTC One M9+ support ethernet adapter with stock ROM? - One (M9+) General

I want to connect the HTC One M9+ to RJ45 ethernet, using some micro-usb to ethernet adapter via OTG. Android supports it starting from marshmallow, but no idea if the feature is present on the One M9+, I think it depends on the kernel.
Anyone knows if it's possible or got it working?

No, I want to surf Internet on a smartphone using a wired connection with wireless disabled. The Nexus 6P is a good alternative but a little bit expensive currently.
Some non Nexus devices may work too provided that you root and install custom kernel:
AndroPlus Kernel for Xperia Z5 / Z5 Compact
Surprisingly, you can connect to internet using a wired connection on iPhone and iPad, but you need the official Apple adapters and a usb hub which is powered externally.

Forget this phone, LG V20 and Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ support OTG USB to ethernet adapters. See more here:

Whats the Usb for?

I have not seen or heard what the micro usb will be used for on the NP....
The ADT-1 has a USB port and all it can be used for is a keyboard/mouse currently. I'd kill for OTG support. That said though, the ADT-1 also comes with a splitter for the power that adds an additional USB port to connect to your computer to access it via the SDK. So, it could be very much the same setup, or something completely different.
Interesting... You would think they would list the use for it.. maybe these OTG cables i have will come in handy..
It's been said that usb to ethernet adapters will work.

You can connect an OTG cable to it. I connected a USB 3.0 HUB + Ethernet adapter to the OTG cable and connected my keyboard & mouse to the hub and a 64 GB micro SD card for extra storage. I also used the the ethernet port so now I don't need to connect through WiFi

I'm using a Ugreen OTG cable. I bought the 2 pack. The usb 3.0 hub is from Inateck. Links are below.

Ethernet connection using a Dell usb-c to ethernet adapter

Hey guys,
just wondering if anyone knows whether you could setup an ethernet connection directly to your Oneplus 2 using an adapter like this?
Hi,
I've actually tried this for fun just 2 days ago with this adapter, I'm usually using it for my Dell XPS 15:
http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=de&l=de&s=dhs&cs=dedhs1&sku=470-ABND
And no, it won't work nor detect the adapter at all.
My guess is that the adapter is connected using USB 3.0 internally, which is not supported by the OnePlus Two.
Do we figure it would work if it was USB 2.0 inside?
Not necessarily, because quite a few USB Type C to Micro-USB B 2.0 adapters won't work with the OnePlus Two either.
To my knowledge only the original (overpriced) adapter and a Xiaomi one are actually working, so either them or the other manufacturers are differing from the standard USB Type C 2.0 pinout.
If you want to save yourself some hassle I'd say you should go for an Ethernet to Micro-USB B one and add the Xiaomi adapter to it.
A kernel with proper Ethernet-support is also needed, LordBoefflas Kernels include a kernel-module for this, you can enable it inside the "Boeffla-Config v2" app.

Does the Xperia X Compact support ethernet adapter with stock ROM?

I want to connect my Sony Xperia X Compact to RJ45 ethernet, using some micro-usb to ethernet adapter. Android supports it starting from marshmallow, but no idea if Sony introduced the feature on the X Compact. Even iOS supports it, on both iPhone and iPad.
Anyone knows if it's possible or got it working?
I tried one and it didn't work.
Not much chance to debug why without root.
I tried connecting my Xperia X Compact to the following Ethernet/LAN adapters:
- USB C to Ethernet (EC Technology USB 3.1 Type C zu RJ45 10/100/1000)
- USB C to USB A 3.0 OTG (ivoler) to to Ethernet (CSL)
but I get no IP and no Internet connection.
Should I adjust a software setting or get a specific hardware adapter to make it work?
Thank you!

I think it's not possible. Try the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, they support ethernet with the Dex dock and probably without it too. I'm not buying Sony anymore. They just copy and copy badly.

I am not sure if this may help.... Enable Developer Options and there is one of the settings under USB Configuration called "RNDIS (USB-Ethernet).... Feature to connect USB/Ethernet adapter should be Android feature, not Sony specific...

I think that is to share the data connection of the smartphone with the computer over usb, also called tethering. What we want here is reverse tethering.

oneplus 6T hardwired issues

a question?
I have oneplus 6t and i have had to tried to connect to internet via OTG but i couldn't make it work, and I heard that 6T is does not support hardwired connection, anyone knows anything about it?
OTG to USB hub with Ethernet did not work for me. The USB ports on the hub worked, but not the Ethernet. I don't think the phone supports it.
