Hi guys,
I ordered my galaxy s7 edge online, it was a refurbished phone from America but came unlocked. Everything works okay with my Vodafone UK sim but the phone still has a lot of the AT&T carrier stuff and automatically sets my billing address to the US and my currency to dollars when I downland an app.
Is there a way I can totally wipe the phone and load Vodafone UK's version of the software onto my phone?
Thanks
Ross

As per the information provided by you, your device model is G935A which is ATT Model. In order get rid off all the stuff(Bloatware), just flash G935U Firmware through ODIN
Will Samsung Pay still work with G935U?

Hi thanks for the reply. How easy is that to do?
I have samsung pay on installed on this phone but unfortunately samsung pay isn't available in the UK yet. Android pay does the job though.
I just read a bit into it... Am I right in saying that flashing it to G935U that will give me a carrier free firmware but that will still be USA software so only solving half the problem?

hi
I am originally from Switzerland and always bought all the galaxy's there in a regular electronic store with no branding or carrier on it. I was always able to use my phones internationally with every possible carrier. a year ago I moved to the states and currently using my s6 edge from Switzerland on cricket (at&t) network. Though i don't get great data speed and connection cause of some frequencies differences between the european and us network. I want to get the s7 edge in the US so i can enjoy perfect connection and speed, but cant find any reliable information regrading the global version SM-G930F, i need one that will also funtion worldwide and especially in switzerland as i travel alot. Unfortunatly in the US people are forced to suscribe to the major cariers to get a the s7 now. i would love to pre-order to get the VR for free. Can anyone pls help me ? what are my possiblities?
Thank u
I don't think you can preorder unless it's through a carrier. You would have to wait until amazon and Samsung begin selling them directly. Which means no VR. Also I can't guarantee that the USA version will be able to fully function abroad. Sorry buddy.
European retailers have been taking pre orders for the unlocked sm-g930F and sm-g-935F international versions since February 23. Unlike US, where carriers dominate the market with their own variants.
The problem is the EU retailers I came across don't ship internationally. But if you have someone in Switzerland, you can order it with their (or your own address in Switzerland) and have them send it to you. You can go to (Google Samsung Switzerland) and on their site you'll see a dozen retailers, such as Steg Electronics, simply offering the unlocked SM-G935F for 818 CHF. Nice and simple!
I preordered mine today without a carrier. The only ****ty thing is that here in Norway a carrier has got the rights to silver color. So i could just make the preorder with other colors
Thank u so much for the info, will I get a free VR ? And also can I use the global version in the US and still enjoy the same data speed and connectivity on att network as I would with a US version? Cause my Swiss Galaxy s6 edge is slower here than an American one, something because of different frequency usage
Cricket is part of at&t, but the way at&t differentiates its plans with its prepaid business (aka cricket wireless) is that Cricket's 4G LTE data speed is limited to 8 mega bits per second, while a native at&t LTE plan speeds go much higher. Cricket clearly states this in the fine prints under their plan as a link "Important data usage ..." As "High-speed data access allows download speeds of a maximum of 8 Mbps for compatible LTE devices and 4 Mbps for compatible HSPA+ devices.".
So if your Galaxy s6 is the international version (SM-G925F), then it has all the right bands to operate on any GSM carrier in the States. All you need to verify is that if your phone has the correct APN. Every US carrier has instructions and FAQs on their APN. For example here is the cricket page:
https://www.cricketwireless.com/sup...ice-byod/customer/bring-your-own-android.html
Thank u very much but I called them many times and they weren't able to fix the issue. What do u suggest I should do with getting the S7 edge?
I would suggest waiting for the galaxy s7 "unlocked" international version to be available in the States.
Places like bhphotovideo.com have the page set up and ready for it. It should be a matter of short while for us to be able to purchase it free of any carrier related restrictions or bloatware. Hang in there.

Lol thank u buddy... It's just that I really want to get that VR for free

I'm under the impression that Straight Talk branded phones usually don't work well with other companies' SIM cards... on the flip side, they advertise themselves as being able to bring your own phone to straight talk by having them provide many different types of SIM cards for your unlocked phone. If you find a solution to this, can you post a reply, as I am curious about this as well.
Hello. My friend's mother, from India, is here in the states and would like to buy an S7.
My other friend has a Verizon S7 (SMG-930V) that she wants to sell for cheap ($350). It was her old phone, and she has since switched carriers and phones. She hasn't fully paid off her old S7, although she's still on the hook for it. I think she'll pay it off with the money she'll get from the sale of the phone, but I'm not sure.
My questions are this: Will this phone work well overseas (mostly in India)? Will the fact that the phone isn't fully paid off affect whether it will function? Will flashing the SMG-930U firmware, instead of keeping the SMG-930V, offer any benefits when used overseas?
Thank you in advance for any help!

Check on https://www.frequencycheck.com
I got a Sprint SM-G935P got it factory unlocked and turned it into a SM-G935T. Mine works perfectly with T-Mobile.

How did you do that? Did you just flash the 935T firmware?

Yeah, it's easy to do. I can flash anything on this phone that is US now. Samsung got my phone listed and registeredas unlocked now.
Could you let me know how to do this process?

1. Make sure your phone passes and clears all the checks like Blacklisted,Activation, and FED (Financed) You can find that information at http://www.swappa.com/esn
(It's got to pass all these check for it to be registered as Unlocked with Samsung)
2. Find someone that can do factory unlocks on your phone. [ I had a friend do mine at his house with a Z3X box], I would suggest Z3X seems to work the best from what phone techs tell me.
3. Insert a SIM card that is active from another carrier it should work without it asking for a code. If it works your unlocked.
4. Flash any US Rom with Odin, You can find the Roms on Sammobile.
5. After a few days check on Samsung.com and check your account and look for you phone with the imei you should see it Unlocked on the site. If you see others with the same imei delete them.
I think my phone is already factory unlocked, since my unlock was done using USB.
Check samsung.com
It should look like this
My phone use to be a SM-G935P
Prepaid:unlocked, Postpaid: sprint
.As long as it is unlocked and you are not on any post paid sprint plan. i.e a contract. If you are on a prepaid sprint plan then any unlocked s7 edge will work. If you are on a contract andjust want to switch phones then you have to buy a sprint version. My story is that I first bought a iPhone 6S on two year contract. I wanted to switch to the s7 edge so I bought a tmobile unlocked version. I went into a sprint store and called in and they both said that unlocked models will only work with prepaid. So I ended up having to buy a sprint model, luckily i found one with with a 200gb micro sd, samsung vr and wireless charger for 550 on ebay.
To answer your question in the simplest terms: post paid plans (on contract) require a sprint s7 edge while prepaid plans (pay as you go) can use unlocked models.

Yeah Sprint is only network you can't really bring in unlocked phones. But you can bring their phones to other carriers that accepts them. Like for me I was a customer with sprint for 15 years on a post paid account . I haven't had a plan contract since 2013 which expired in 2015. I had a phone contract with sprint when the S7 Edge came out and paid it off back in December. I got sick of all the taxes we have here in Chicago. I got my phone connected to MetroPCS for a month. Now I'm on a Tmobile post paid plan with the $70 unlimited plan with an unlocked Sprint phone.
First of all I want to clarify that I am new to this, so I would be very helpful to help me understand this world, I am from Mexico, let's begin.
Good companions I previously had a galaxy s7 model SM-G930T, the device was with the T-mobile company that is from the USA but it was unlocked so I could use it normally in my country, the device had its T-mobile bloatware so that everything normal, well I decided to use samsung pay on that mobile, practically everything worked perfectly, then I sold that phone and bought what I now have that is a galaxy s8 model SM-G950U1 out there I have informed that it is an unlocked mobile from United States with CSC XAA, I find that I can not use samsung pay, when wanting to make a temporary transaction of my card to activate it does not do it, the truth is confusing to me as if I could use sPay with the s7 and now with the s8 No, if both were from the USA, they could help me. :crying:
I am very new in this of Roms of other countries, csc, etc ...
Thanks for your attention.
