LS997 White screen with vertical lines after installing custom rom - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey Guys, I am rooted with twrp via Dirty Santa. My issue is that When I try to install a custom rom it passes but automatically goes to a white screen with black vertical lines during boot and remains that way as the phone is turned on. Im kind of a newb and dont understand how to erase this issue. Please help. I can provide any info needed to try and help this stop. I would like to install a custom rom for a hotspot hack. The only rom that will install is the deodexed rom that came from Dirty Santa. Any help is appreciated. Sorry if im vague, im just trying to do this at work! Thanks in advance.

Read the OP from the ROM you flashed you are getting static boot.... Let it boot completely turn off screen... The second screen will show static then cover the sensor by camera and unlock the phone.... Every time you reboot you have to do this... Read

[q] issues with recovery

hello all. so i have a rooted mytouch 4g that im loving but having issues with. i permarooted it with Visionary and everything works great but when i try to boot my phone in recovery, it goes to a black screen with an exclamation point and i have to pull the battery. I also tried it through Rom Manager to do a backup and it gets the same screen. any ideas would be of great help. thanks in advance!
Seems to be stock recovery, with rom manager flash clock work recovery
Some times rom manager doesn't like to flash recovery on our phone. Theres an option after you enable advanced features to delete recovery before flaashing. Use that. May help. If not, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852905
^^ That should help.
thanks im gonna try that and see where it gets me! i did do my research before doing this and re read everything but i guess im still not quite too learned yet ha.
tried after enabling advanced mode and it didnt help so when i get home and have a computer available ill try the adb way and see if that helps. seems pointless to have a rooted phone if i cant flash a rom onto it haha. hopefully i can fix this!

Sounds like CW didn't install right. Many users have found that flashing CW twice or even 3 times seems to clear the issue up.
Try that.

Glad I was able to help. Seems CW needs to be flashed more than once in order to 'take' and install correctly on some devices. Anyway, glad you're up and runnin.

Problem when modding
Hi, I have managed to get my Adam to start but it is stuck on "Cynogenmod7" screen and just keeps running the start up animation and doesnt do anything else. The screen goes blank after a while and the only way to recover is to reboot the device which gets stuck in the same place again. Can someone please help?
Thanks

If you haven't already be sure to clear system data+cache in the recovery menu.. That usually solves boot loop issues..

Go back to recovery, re-wipe and re-flash your desired ROM. You can even re-download the ROM as well in case it was caused by a bad DL.

Yeah... To kinda piggyback on what ionic said, you also have to give us a lot more info than what you're giving us. Like what ROM you tried, and the process you did to flash it.
If your ROM ever messes up or doesn't boot, the general answer you'll always get is to just re-wipe and re-flash.
Need a little bit more info. Do need the process that you went through to flash.
you probably have to boot into recovery, do a full wipe and reflash the rom again, i remember this happened to me , sometimes its the rom, sometimes you dont flash the rom right, good idea to either keep a backup of another rom or keep an extra rom on your SD card

Alert icon on boot screen?

Hey guys, I just got a S2 and flashed cyanogenmod7 onto it. All works fine, except after flashing clockworkrecovery, the phone boot screen has a small yellow alert icon on the bottom of it.
The phone still boots and works fine, but I'm just curious what this icon means, and if there is a way I can get rid of it/fix it?
Cheers,
Dan
Dont worry about it, move on. Or get a usb jig to get rid of if it bothers you that much.

Flash a stock kernel to remove the icon then flash your kernel of choice via CWM etc. This should work as I use the kitchen app with checkrom to achieve the same thing. Alternatively do as above and use the usb jib to reset your flash counter.
It doesn't bother me much at all, was just wondering what it was and if it was a simple fix to remove.
Cheers,
Dan
Try to read the FAQs and stickies before posting, yeah? This is mentioned multiple times. Otherwise, remember, the search tool is your friend

Download flashify and choose reboot to recovery.. Or you can use any app that has a reboot to recovery option. And yes you are good to flash.. Make sure you make a backup tho lol
