is any one experience slow LTE/WCDMA speeds - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

is it me or anyone else is experiencing slow LTE speeds
the miui is gives the highest speeds..
because of this VOLTE thing our LTE speed got compromised.... i am hardly getting any 1 mbps in ookla speedtests where other people at same place getting over 20-24 mbps.
any fix?

I don't know, I'm getting over 60mbps on 4g LTE, but I don't have any VoLTE option in Lineage 14.1

It depends on the band which their phone is working on. I was too surprised by this that my k3 note gets ~5Mbps and Redmi 2 only gets ~0.3 Mbps. But in some locations it somewhat goes to 42Mbps. There are many factors on which speed depends.

My 3G is pathetic

I've even tryed the EVRC thing
Mine is very spotty. Sometimes I get 1.5mbps and other times (like right now), it looks like this:
Wifi is ok, but its results are slower in the browser vs. the actual Speedtest app:
Mine is also as horrible here in Phoenix.
I've been happy with my service in Jacksonville. Usually in the range of 1.3 - 1.5 mbps, upwards of 2 mbps

Ditto. Either way though, my 3G connection is still faster than my home's DSL.
Then again, what would you expect from AT&T?
If you're using the SpeedTest app to check speeds, just be aware that it is inaccurate as all get out.
Same,
I just switched from ATT(St. Louis) My ATT 3g speeds are similar to my 4g Sprint speeds at times
3g on ATT in a rural area tested from 1.2-2.3mpbs, sprint 4g has topped out at 2.0mpbs downtown.
Very sad.

What do you recommend? DSL reports?
EDIT:
Here's the results
4g
Speedtest - 1.56
DSL Reports Flash - 3.8
3g
Speedtest - 155
DSL Reports Flash - 556
You may have something there sir
Seems for this app it either doesn't throttle or is using **** servers.
Well i dunno what to blame. I do live in a completly brick house. All though i can go to walmart and have 5-6 bars but go back to my house 5 blocks away with a good signal all the way untill i walk up my steps (garage appt) and into my door and drop to 0 to at best 4 bars. Its almost like my house is made out of led or something because it seems to block out any kind of signal, even the "new" digital tv signals. But even when i do have a full signal the best i get is 100kb/s
what is really stupid for me is that my upload speed over 3g is oftentimes faster than the download speed with full bars.

That happens when you use the speed test app. It won't be the case with anything else.

AT&T turned on 7.2mbps?

I was tethering via wifi with my RHOD300 running Energy 21911 Titanium/rigged the way I like it and downloaded my friend's Pure's shipped ROM @ 350-450 kilobytes per second. Bytes, not bits. I ran several speed tests @ http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest and they all averaged out to 3.5 megabits per second and I hit 4.0 on 3 separate tests out of Atlanta, GA. I'm in Little Rock, AR and BandSwitch is reporting signal strength @ 80%. 4.0 is higher than 3.6 so I think po'dunk AR has 7.2 HSPA and it's either just a test or this goodness is permanent until they roll out 14.4, 21, or full-on LTE.
Yeah, I can get 4-5mbps during off peak hours on my USB dongle too (AT&T). Though, I still prefer T-Mobile as with them I can get 5mbps peak, ~8mbps off peak
The problem with Tmobile, at least in the area of Utah where I live is that you pretty much have Edge in most places where ATT give me H.
Yeah, their 3G can be spotty in some areas unfortunately. But in NYC they are excellent.
lucky lol looks like im headed to nyc lol

Inconsistent 3G speeds

Has anyone noticed really inconsistent 3G speeds?
Often I'll get well over 1 mbps download rates, but sometimes its disgustingly awful.
For example, 3G(not 1X) just netted me this:
68 Kbps or 0.1 Mbps (8 kB/s)
:|
(Sprint btw)
Speed depends how many bars show up when you're using Ev. Zero or 1 bar could get the result you listed, but it will be awesome if you have full bars.
That really isn't true on a cdma network. I also have seen large variance in mobile network speed, probably just from heavier traffic on sprints network.
I've had ranges from 2.1mb/s to 300kb/s on 3G.
Sent from my bathroom, with toilet paper.

Yeah, I get that every day. Most noticeably Mon-Fri.. I live in the Detroit area which in my opinion, barely has 3g as it is. Forget ever getting 4g here.
Anyway, after 9am my internet is unusable for anything except gmail telling me I have new emails. Even then sometimes the connection times out. Pings of over 1000ms and speedtest speeds like I'm back in 1994 on dial-up (3.4 kB/s).
2 other co-workers of mine have hero's (both stock, i'm running cm 6.0 nightlys) with the same problems.
I've called and complained a few times to which they tell me it's my phone. But no, it's not. It's your network!

faster 3g speeds in south orange county C.A.

Well I did a speed check last night and it was a lot faster. 200-300 kbps down and 100 kbps.
It had been sucking really bad like at 25 kbps down and 10th kbps at my house. The ping is better so I tethered the xbox and played cod with yellow bars with no lag that I can see.also launched netflix and got 2 bars and five mins later it kicked to 3 bars, saw like 600 kbps down listed on the app.so it soooooo much better. Any one else see this?.
Hey,
Could you tell me how you managed to get those speeds on your EVO? I'm in costa mesa and can't get anymore than 1x = 120KBS
thanks!
I used to work in dana point and I agree the 3g speeds there were pretty decent. Didn't have 4G but downloading roms really didn't take all that long.

What kind of download speeds are you getting with your Samsung Galaxy s10 plus?

As far as m.b.p.s. on down and uploading speeds? Where I live inside my home I get 50-80 m.b.p.s. on downloading speeds and 10-30 m.b.p.s. on my uploading speeds with my T-Mobile samsung Galaxy s9 plus device.I was just wondering if you guys we're getting roughly the same speeds as I'm getting or if your are receiving aloe faster speeds than I'm getting. Thanks In advance!!!

Depends. On my carriers network (Freedom) my phone displays lte and I pulled 100Mbps down with 25Mbps up yesterday. Today, I was roaming on either Telus or Bell and my phone showed 4G instead of lte and I got a whopping 5Mbps down.
On Wifi, I can max my 350Mbps internet connection and my lan speeds are usually upwards of 800Mbps.
On my home wifi, i max out my bandwidth. 220Mbps down and 20Mbps(Virgin UK). Mobile data on 4G at home, 197Mbps down and 49Mbps up (EE UK). I do get slightly higher download and upload speeds sometimes whilst out and about in London. Had similar speeds on the Note 8 as well, so for me, nothing changed.
Hope this helps.

30 Mbps Download (Max 50 Mbps download) and 96 Mbps Upload on my Wi-Fi.. I dont know whats the issue with my wifi.. all my phones give similar speed (a bit less than s10+ though). Over ethernet I get around 70 to 80 Mbps download and 85 Mbps Upload. I'm on 100 Mbps plan.
My lte has been turd slow, like 30mbps no matter where I'm at. Verizon, anyone else having this issue?

Check the bandwith of the channel (20/40/80) and if you are using channel aggregation, your downstream channel is probably too crowded for your current settings
Topic:
240/20 (my plan) on wifi no issues,
Average of 60/15 on LTE, some locations are way less (10mbps) some others are way more (200mbps), but thats the normal stuff here
I found though that this is the best modem i've used (including phones and actual modems) regarding agreggation, my S8 drops aggregation faster, generally once it reaches 1 bar of signal (like indoors), while my S10+ just keeps going along, it generally drops it only once the signal is really poor
But because of that ,it is much more hesitant to drop to HSPA+, which is a technical problem per say, as here HSPA+ as really good coverage overall and its clean (constant 20mbps) due to everything moving to LTE.

Well, I tried everything possible for a possible increase in download speed but nothing worked. Everytime I did a test from Ookla it showed around 30 Mbps, but when I download something from PlayStore and Calculate the time using stopwatch, the speed comes out to be 83 Mbps Download.
I have 500MB/s at home and my S10 gets upwards of 350± . Newer ASUS router, 5GHz using Ookla Speed Test. It's a beast of a phone and Beasty bandwidth capabilities! Love it!
