Network issue still on 3.5.6 - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I didn't get the 3.5.5 update but directly got 3.5.6. Now I am losing network in sim 1 every now and then. I see this is a known issue and was fixed in 3.5.6 but I am still getting it. Any idea how to fix this?

Completely re-flash the 3.5.6 and wipe everything before doing that. I've absolutely no issues with OOS 3.5.6.

I got it through OTA update. Should I factory reset?

Hi there
I'd recommend to download a fresh full 3.5.6 ROM (check the OnePlus 2 General forum, I saw it there) and start from scratch, that's what I did. Hope it helps!

Flash 3.5.7 firmware?

Is safe flash 3.5.7 firmware to avoid random reboots on custom ROM?
I'm not having issues with IMEI or signal drops, but I'm having random reboots.
I read few people flashed it and random reboots have gone.
Someone who flashed 3.5.7 firmware can share if it works or not?
Thanks in advance

Do you care about voLTE ? If not, you could go back to 3.0.x - 3.1 firmware: I flashed too the newest firmware and experienced random reboots. I reflashed 3.1 stock ROM (so with 3.1 firmware) and now all is good.

Flashing 3.5.6 firmware gave me random reboots. 3.5.7 firmware not. 3.0.x and 3.1.x work also fine.
Use the firmware files from @Spannaa

I don't care about VoLTE, but I think better new firmware always
I guess it is so simply flashing the firmware that you want

Do you know if flashing 3.0.x or 3.1.x fixes random shut offs, not just reboots? As in, my phone will sometimes randomly not want to wake from sleep and I'm forced to force reboot. Happens at least once a day, and I wouldn't classify this as a random reboot since it doesn't reboot by itself.

Black screen of death does nothing to do with firmware, it happened to me from time to time on 3.1.x firmware as well. It's usually a ROM thing.
i had a lot of reboots with the newer firmware.now back on 3.1.1 en its al gone.rom that i use is tesla.

Oh, is that what people refer to it as?
I've gotten it on pretty much every ROM I've tried, and I have a feeling it's a problem with Doze, since it seemed to happen much much more often when I use Greenify.

I haven't tried, but I most certainly can. How would I go about doing that?
I also have reason to believe that it could also be a memory leak of some sort, or the battery begins to fail, as usually when I'm forced to reboot it I lose anywhere from 5-30% of battery life.

Just check this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/logs-t3533826
If your battery drains it seems like your phone got stuck in some sort of loop that kept your CPU/sensors/whatever fully loaded.

Alright cool, I will try and get these logs if I notice my phone do it while I have access to my computer. I have a feeling it won't detect the phone though, since my phone doesn't charge while in this state.

So my device did the black screen thing again. I plugged it into my computer to see if it would be recognized. It pops up us "QUSB_BULK" which a quick Google search seems to indicate that the device is bricked; however, this is obviously not the case.
Any ideas?
i had IMEI 2 - 0 issue on 3.5.6 and not any issues with random reboot or signal drop, after update 3.5.7 IMEI has been fixed and no problems at all
Is that an OTA for 3.5.6 to 3.5.7?
Is that an OTA for 3.5.6 to 3.5.7? I dirty flashed the 41mb 3.5.7 firmware zip file through TWRP, nothing happened, thankfully didn't brick the phone either!

No, not an OTA. I have dirty flashed serveral different firmware versions. No problems with installing them.
The firmware version on the phone doesn't change?
The firmware version on the phone settings wouldn't change? It's still 3.5.6 , not sure if that flash was successful, it did take a while to boot up though

3.5.6 is the rom version.
Flashing firmware from another version won't change this.
The only indication you'll get is that the baseband version will change (but not always as some of the firmwares have the same baseband version).

Hi,
Noob Question, But I haven't flashed 3.5.6 can I still be able to update with the 3.5.7 firmware patch ? Also I believe that this does enable our dearest OpenPlus 2 with VoLTE ?
(P.S. I'm on Nougat 7.1.1, I hope it doesn't mess with the firmware 3.5.7)

OnePlus 5 random reboots

I recently bought a OnePlus 5 with h2Os . I flashed it to oxygen OS using stock recovery. The problem is that the phone keeps on rebooting randomly from time to time.
I have tried several fresh flashes. Wipes. Factory reset but to no use. I wonder if there is any catch when flashing from H2Os to O2 OS . Or is my device faulty ?
I didn't check thoroughly if the behavior was the same on H2Os.
Any leads , help , guidance ?
Do you had this problem with the preinstalled h2Os?
I did not check. I flashed O2 as soon as I got home. So I can't say if it misbehaved on hydrogen os.
Have you downloaded the OxygenOS firmware from oneplus net?
Yes. From official website

Try to download even the official recovery and flash with that even if it seems equal... Otherwise i think you've to reflash h2os and test the phone and if the problem occurs again maybe the device is defective but without tests we have no answers :fingers-crossed:

Has there been reports of such faults on op5 ? I will probably be returning it tomorrow. But now I am afraid if the next op5 I get would be trouble free or not.

I've never heard about this issue before but i'm only one, maybe try at the support forum on oneplus net
I think it has to do with unlocking bootloader and root. I erased everything, went back to stock rom and relocked bootloader and no reboot today.

Lg g6 h870ds oreo upgrade bugs

So I didn't use the LG Bridge to update my LG-H870DS. I was so eager to update to Oreo that I used a VPN and tried over the air and I got this update V20a-SEA-XX which I obviously downloaded and installed. Everything was going well after installation except the camera. Since the update, using the flash has caused my photos to come out a weird colour, almost over contrasted. What can I do about this?
Please help because I use my phone camera a lot.
Dude how ???? I want oreo too in my h870ds

Since upgrading to Oreo I keep getting a no sim error. Rebooting the phone seems to bring it back but it's happening every day. I've done a bit of googling and it seems there are other devices with the same issue.
I'm not certain it's the Oreo update but it's only happened since upgrading.
*Solved* Downgrade from oreo on LG G6/H870DS
I experienced exactly the same issue.
LG pulled out the update for G6/H870DS.
I had to downgrade LG G6 using LG UP and Uppercut Tool

Thanks for this, since downgrading using this method I'm no longer getting the no sim error. Removing the passwords didn't help at all though, it still corrupted the data. Thankfully I made a backup before starting so recovered pretty quickly. One issue I am having is a few apps are crashing when I try to open them, clearing the cache and app data has worked for some but not all. Looks like because of the locked bootloader I'm going to have to factory reset as there is no way to clear the cache partition ?. To anyone else who follows this method I would advise factory reset once you've flashed Nougat, oh and take a backup using bridge.

Right now am on nougat and have adb removed all the bloatware and it's running pretty smooth and around 4-5h sot lasts me through the day. Want to hear if it;s any better on oreo before updating.

New treble roms for Honor 8 and P9

I have seen that nobody shared this informations: openkirin is working on lineageos, resurrection remix, carbonrom and omnirom. These are treble ROMs and openkirin has published beta previews that support our device, we have fully working cameras with stock emui camera app on every rom( with all functions), every rom works perfecly, no bugs, no issues, everything works, I only faced with overheating caused by fast charger that I fixed using a normal charger. You find links on openkirin telegram group, keep in mind that these are only previews so things could be even better. (Thanks openkirin)

No. No volte. The openkirin team will tell you the exact same thing. And sorry but those who pay attention to xda about Oreo know these images already exist. They've been discussed here for well over a month.
I don't think the Treble ROMs are working very well. I've Tried LOS Beta 5 from openkirin's website. Factory reset using custom recovery after Flashing the LOS system image didn't work. However the ROM booted and there was some issues like, random google error message pop-ups and both the camera apps aren't working. I've tried this thoroughly by following the installation guide on their website but still had these issues. Any suggestions or help is welcomed.
You should NOT use custom recovery at all.

You first need to update to Oreo, yes. Neither Marshmallow nor Nougat support Treble ROMs.
Depending on where you live and what model you own you probably need to rebrand though. Or you wait until Honor/Huawei rolls out the update for your region, which shouldn't take TOO long anymore.

I'm experiencing similar things.
SD card doesn't get recognized/system says it's corrupted which is obviously isn't, root via ramdisk method works but Magisk is buggy and modules just won't install, WiFi randomly turns off or disconnects with no pattern behind it... I've tried both LOS (twice) and ROS (once) and they both have similar problems. Guess I'll have to stay on EMUI then... *sigh*

Yup got it earlier today. It's weird cause it looked different than normal update app, and I'm on OB3 so I shouldn't get notif from stable channel. Tried to download it anyway to upload later and share on forums, but fails every time so I gave up.
Same. I try to install and it says failed.
I installed it. No problems so far.

I just got the notification this morning, but I don't want to risk wiping my handset or losing root. (I'm on Stable, rooted with Magisk. I'm new to OnePlus so am cautious about how I update...)

I was on OB3 (Beta). Looks like now I am on stable again.
Yeah, I got the update notification as well. I woke up in the morning, and it was already installed, couldn't do nothing. After restart, my device was wiped. I installed Magisk before restarting, didn't do anything.
My current firmware is 11.0.1.1.IN11AA. Is that Open Beta 3 or the stable 11?
Also updated to 11.0.1.1.IN11BA and the Oneplus Launcher, navigation gestures and the notification bar doesn't work...
Well done OnePlus :/
Very glad I didn't switch to beta. I need everything to work on my phone every day for work and restoring exchange email etc isn't a quick easy task, which is why I didn't go with beta even though people were reporting better luck with ob3 than the last stable.
That's a pretty bad screw up on OnePlus this time.
On the upside, no issues so far with the update on mine.

OMG
...you can't make this sh.. up
After my phone self updated and wiped lat evening; I downgraded to OOS 10, then updated to OB3 again, with full wipe; turned off Auto-download on wifi in settings. Thought that would fix any future updates...
HA! I just woke up to the same update notification. Saying phone updated please reboot. It's has now self updated and wiped itself again
FML and F.. OnePlus engineers responsible for this
Wow, this is one crazy roll out update!
hold my beer...
after my phone just wiped itself again, I was about to do the same thing from last night, when I downgraded to OOS 10 then updated to OB3 again
but now I'm looking at the About section of the phone and it still says OB3
Naturally, what did it it exactly download to update to wipe itself, if I'm still on OB3 right now
What did OnePlus push this morning..
And why was the not to auto-update flag ignored...
