I'm wondering if there is a proper java runtime available to be able to play pogo.com games on the G1. Well, at least my wife is hoping so...heh
Please search before posting and try posting in the correct sections, thank you.
I did search but did not yield a proper result. It seems some java does work but I want to know if it fully works and will allow you to play on pogo.com. Sorry for putting it in the wrong section but can anyone confirm if you can play the games on the site?
I couldn't get any games to load
I was just wondering if anyone has downloaded java apps yet on the new hero rom. I searched through getjar.com and couldn't quite figure out which apps would work on our phone. If you have, can you make a list of your favorite ones?
Hi everyone. I am starting a new Open Source project using VB.net to allow the community to build Adventure Games ala SCUMM / SCI / AGI etc... Users will be able to create games similar to Zak McKracken, Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Space Quest, Kings Quest, Police Quest, Full Throttle, etc...
Some Key Engine features:
*Point and Click game play
*GUI's
*Inventories
*Control of Multiple game characters
*NPC's
*Cutscenes
*Sounds
*Pathfinding
*Hotspots and Masks
*Lighting effects
*Z-Buffering
*Saving/Loading game states.
*And more
Game editing will be done eventually through an editor. But the files will consist of editing:
*Directory structure to contain images and sound and scripts
*XML Scripts
*Engine- Game Player
The game engine is open source. Although with every release, the compilation code will be modified as to make sure noone can get into the game contents.
The project is in design stage currently. So its fresh. What I need is a few experienced VB.NET developers. Not necessarily in .NET CF or Mobile development. But just in VB.NET. In particular I need help writing pathfinding functions.
I am also in search for a mobile VB.NET programmer who can help with the development of reading XML files more efficiently than I know how to write and also for someone to help with game compilation functions and Z-buffering. If you are interested, post here and let me know your sourceforge account and what your applying for. The site is here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mobilemage/
cool~looking forward to it!!!
Thank you. In a few days I should have basic Room loading done. That will probably be the first release for it.
How can i install Java to my Galaxy S for working some websites that they need it???
for Browser there is no plugin available yet
but if you want to run say Java games application or software made for Java, then there is a software that can convert it from java into android apps
but it's not free
I'm going on the assumption that the OP was referring to Java SE 'applets' commonly used on the web, such as used for games like Minecraft or RuneScape.
I can't see any software in the immediate future allowing compatibility for this unless somebody voluntarily hacks something together although for what it's worth I had a look over to see what ARMEL compiled packages the Debian repository has:
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/openjdk-6-jre may work in a chrooted Debian environment if anybody wants to try it assuming all the dependencies are available for ARMEL too. I have no idea if this would work and I may have a go at attempting it some time myself. This of course probably isn't what you want but it technically would mean you could run your Java applets in a browser - just not the browser you'd probably want.
I have noticed a fair number of posts on the web for annotation programs for android, which is severely hampered by the lack of such programs. I have downloaded and installed the Wireless ToolKit 2.5 and am attempting to rebuild a Java program called Jarnal as a .jad to eventually convert to a .apk install, but having NOOB problems as I am not a Java programmer. It would seem it should be very very easy to build a midlet from this program as the .class and .java source files are all available for download with the .jar and install progs, but I am having no luck. If someone out there knows a little about the WTK and can help me on how to place the files in the project directories I think I could get something going from there. So far, attempts have left me with .class strings not found or errors in java.lang calls. I really would like to get this going not just for me, but for all the folks that have been crying out for some kind of annotator. There are all kinds for Iphone, Nokia, Windows desktop....but none for Android, which is kind of stupid considering the large usage and Android just an offshoot of Linux and Java is so widely accepted. I attempted to get the developer of Xournal to jump on porting to Android, but no success. So far, I have tried Jarnal and attempting something with Notelab as of this posting, but doubt with lack of java experience I will get anywhere. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated by many I am sure.
I totally agree-I've been looking for Android apps to replace my pen-and-paper notepad. However, no apps even remotely close to Xournal or NoteLab are available.
Having those for Android would expedite purchase of a tablet (I was waiting for the NotionInk Adam, but am not very confident anymore; now the Archos 101 is higher on my list)
Any one available to create this winning app??
