Well I just got my honor 5 and wanted to upgrade the software, emui says it's 3.1 and when I put the check for updates it says there are no available. Nether when I check my lollipop 5.1.1 to got to Marshmallow. No upgrade available.
My cellphone was one of the Prime Day 120 bucks, KIW-L24c56.
Is there something I should do? I know very few of cellphones, but at least my moto g2 asked me itself to upgrade to Marshmallow which I did, apparently this has Marshmallow upgrade also but nowhere to be found.
Than you.
Wait for it its not fully out yet.. it takes some time.

Check out this thread. It gives detailed instructions to download the official update and install it.
im checking the hihonor website and there is no 6.0 upgrade
Is it just me or no one else can see it ?

Well... so far no luck upgrading.
I'm new in this subforum (just got my KIW-L24 last night) and have no idea what the "-c56" on your model number is so hopefully I'm not wasting your time, but
I was able to update mine to marshmallow using this update package that was provided in this thread.
Just make a "dload" folder on your internal storage and extract the update file from the zip to it. Then in system update on the phone, hit menu and local update... should walk you through from there.
Hope this helps!
well apparently Huawei pulled out the update because there were some issues with the phones, they are gonna work on it and put the update on L24 with Marshmallow 6 and Emui 4 back when everything is resolved.

Did you hear this from Huawei? I'm thinking the same thing and posted this in another thread, but was wandering if it was officially a problem.
See below:
They have removed marshmallow from the site. It's not official, but I believe they are doing some work to it. It was extremely laggy and had poor battery life and performance compared to lollipop. I reverted back after running it.
You guys would be better off waiting to see what repairs are done to it.
When you click on the support site, look to the right under manuals
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/
You will see how to rollback officially from Marshmallow, if there were no problems, I'm pretty sure that would NOT be listed the same day marshmallow was removed from the site

Yea, I wrote to them and they replied me that there were some issues regarding the update. One day there was the update and the other it wasnt, so I asked them and they said their engineers are looking into it and as soon as possible its gonna be back posted on the website.
amazing how these buggy updates make it through testing to get released, beyond belief & biggest drawback with current phones is crappy firmware & apps , programming, testing & design rules needs massive improvement ...
Android itself is big part of problem ...
Funny how CM has a better software compared yo such big brand Honor/Huawei
Just now at the Honor US support site.
There is this
KIW-L24, Android 6.0.1,EMUI 4.0,C567D003,United States

Hope it is the patched version.
yea I just entered the website and saw it too.
Im gonna wait a while to see if things are patched, apparently the patch is the same as the one before so Ill wait a bit until people test it out.

nothing changed in the about phone screen, I assume it's just bug fix for the memory leaks and bad battery

I am sure that this is what I put on my daughters phone yesterday, but it still shows as B331 in the about phone screen. Can anyone else confirm this?
well I got 6.0.1 and new Emui in my cellphone OTA. Just this morning I got an update and after downloading and installing it was the new version.
Phone seems a bit laggy and not as fast as 5.0, is this normal for 6.0? Or just me?

I think wait for some days to receive OTA Nougat bcz i don't think anyone got officially OTA Nougat...
I can confirm this. I had flashed MPJ24.139-63 earlier and received Nougat OTA Update. But since mine was rooted and had TWRP recovery, it failed. So I took the downloaded file and flashed MPJ24.139-63 again hoping I'd get the update. But now it tells my device is up to date.

This is nothing in plain sight for people in the United States as we get the chaft everytime. Good device but thought they followed Googles lead in their device updates. Here is what is received from Lenovo
My name is Mohammed from Motorola E-mail Support and it will be my pleasure to assist you with any concern that you might have. I hope that your day is going great so far.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience that we may have caused you.
In this case let me tell you that you can check for updates by going to Settings > About Phone> system updates. If the device says it's up to date, and you have not received the notification update, you should wait until the notification to arrive since it is sent via OTA, by the way let me tell you that we do not send system updates in this case you can also contact your carrier about this issue since they are in charge to send it.
I would also suggest you to please keep checking our software update page periodically:

I can't say for all carriers but I know that most have the final say on when the updates are pushed out. Since they field calls for problems their support people have to be up to speed on each release. Almost across the board you'll see the following when you put in your carrier "This device will be upgraded to the Android 7 (Nougat) release, pending partner support."
It sucks.

The only way to remain risk free let the update notification arrive and then update from there. Anything else has an element of riskiness involved.
But soak test otas can be flashed if you can bear the risk

Is there such a problem with waiting? I mean really? If you are so desperate for an upgrade install a custom ROM. It's not officially released yet and only reports of soak tests are not through Motorola. Please be patient. It's better to have it right than not.

My thoughts exactly. I can see the point if someone wants to install a custom rom, lord knows I've done it enough, but installing a soak test that could kill your real OTA or contain bad code, borders on ridiculous. If you don't have a chance of receving Nougat then I'd go for it, but AFAIK, all the G4's are going to get it. I actually had an official soak test on a previous phone and it killed my final ota.
Sorry for the stupid question. I have checked in the system settings for a new update but it says I'm on the latest patch. I've also heard that there may not even be a security patch available for the retail US XT1625 and it should still be on MPJ24.139-48, is that true?
I've checked the Motorola website and it seems there is an update that I don't have. I don't really know what I'm doing and I don't want to void my warranty by flashing a newer stock image, if that even does void it.
If there's anything I can do, I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

No, MPJ24.139-64 is the latest stock firmware. Not sure why you aren't getting it, unless you are on a custom recovery. That would prevent you from getting the update. I too have the XT1625 and I had to return my device to stock recovery before I received the update. There is a thread somewhere in the forum (might be in G4+) that tells you how.
However, if you are on full stock with no modifications then I have no idea why you aren't getting it.
I am indeed on full stock, I just bought this phone factory unlocked last week from a retail store and I really don't know why I haven't received an update for it. Is there any way that I can force it to update without unlocking the bootloader and just flashing the new stock image? I want to receive the Android 7.0 update when that comes out, but I would also like to update to the most recent build.
Can I sideload the OTA without voiding my warranty and also still get the Android N update when it becomes available? If so how?
If you have any answers I would greatly appreciate them.

If you are 100% certain the bootloader is still locked then the only thing I can suggest is to contact Motorola Customer Service and find out why it isn't updating. Or return to the store where you purchased it. But my phone downloaded the update even before I returned to stock recovery. I then saved it to my SDCard, returned to stock, and put the update back in the proper folder. When I rebooted it updated the normal way. Was it unopened when you bought it? Maybe the store did something to affect the update. Also, I am on the USA version and assume you are as well.
It is a USA version.
I already called Motorola customer service and they said that the Moto G4 receives updates in batches and that whether or not I receive the security update is based entirely on my carrier. I have Straight Talk AT&T. I've also tried it with a Sprint SIM card and it didn't update either.
When I brought it back to the store I purchased it from (Best Buy), they said that since it's an unlocked phone it will receive updates directly from Motorola, and it doesn't matter what carrier it's on.

Best Buy is correct. As far as Motorola Customer Service, the answer one gets from to any question depends on who you ask. I have never had to call them, but other users here on XDA have had a wide variety of results. Sometimes calling back and trying a different rep yields better results. Maybe clarifying your phone model/type and the fact you have an unlocked phone would help.
Other than that my friend, I am out of suggestions.
I'm also still on -48. Purchased from Costco.

Not sure why you came to that conclusion, but you are dead wrong. I do not have the Amazon variant and I received the update to MPJ24.139-64 via the normal update channel from Motorola. Also, here is a link to the Non-Amazon variant of the stock ROM (-64 version):

Furthermore, I have a copy of the -64 update blur file (non-Amazon variant) saved to my PC.
Any questions?
Can you share the blur file update?

Okay , but a lot of Moto G4 users are still on MPJ24.139-48 and not getting the update , especially the ones who are on MPJ24.139-49 . I have not read a single comment from a MPJ24.139-49 user that he/she got the july patch to MPJ24.139-63/64 .
There is a person on the official Lenovo Motorola forums where he wrote that he bought two devices from the same retailer and one of the devices got the update immediately to MPJ24.139-64 but the other one is still stuck on MPJ24.139-49 . Can you help me with that .
I have tried to install the blur files available on the forums but it gives the error because the update is for 139-48 users not 139-49 ones . I have also tried to install the Full Stock MPJ24.139-64 but still gives the " wrong footer " error .
Thanks !

I have no idea. All I know is that my XT1625 16 Gbyte USA version updated without any issues from -48 to -64 (back in October). The -49 version is a completely different animal (maybe the G4+) and I have no experience with it. You might check your Software Channel under Settings/About Phone and see which one you are on (I am on the retus Software Channel), but other than that I have no clue, unless the version hardware is different.
Again, you are talking apples and oranges when referring to the -49 version.

Hahahaha .....
Mine is also ( G4 )ATHENE XT1625 RETUS version , not ( G4+ ).
Available firmware versions for XT1625 are :
MPJ24.139-48
MPJ24.139-49 , and
MPJ24.139-64 . You can check on https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto G4 (Plus)/Stock/
For some reason a some users got update from -48 to -64 and some got -48 to -49 and got stuck with it . I do not know what is going on . Just hoping to get the NOUGAT UPDATE . I am also very confused about the number system .
I would love to keep this thread going. I am in the same boat. I have a Moto G4 (Non-Plus) XT1625 Retus version. I am still on MPJ24.139-48. If you review Motorola's website...it says the latest version available is MPJ24.139-64. However, I have never received this OTA update. As a matter of fact I have tried to install this firmware from their website before and while it installs I get error crashes.
As far as I can tell from my research, in the US... some users got 64 but a lot of people are still on 48. Any thoughts? I would love to get this solved. Oh! and before you ask NO i don,t own the amazon variant!

Hi all, I'm a US user with W09 and would like to get it to Nougat - I have read the entire "Update to EMUI 5.0" thread and there appeared to be several possible routes, but most were regarding the European version.
I have a US Wi-Fi model and have no allegiance in keeping it a US one, if there's a way to remove the regional aspect to gain access to the update (BETA or otherwise).
I would greatly appreciate if someone who has some experience with or is very confident of the correct path would shed some light for me.
Thank you!
Have you tried update via Firmware Finder? Witch firmware version do you have now?

I've just finished reading the entire thread linked above that mentions that method a number of times, so I'm certainly familiar with it, but haven't tried it because sprinkled throughout that thread are plenty of issues encountered. Also, there's no mention of US hardware/firmware specific instructions.
I'm on W09 as mentioned in the OP - thanks for the reply!
Install Firmware Finder from Playstore and post a screenshot with firmwares that appear there.

I'm away from my tablet at the moment but will do later on when I get home.
We will see after that what we can do. I have updated my tablet to Nougat, but I have BTV-DL09 (4G European version).
To change region I think you have to unlock bootloader.

Here's what's in firmware finder @33adi
What's the advantage to switching from US to EU roms? I unlocked, rooted, enabled 5ghz band for wifi, and now only need nougurt but much like the original poster not sure the best route.

The advantage of removing the US stock rom is that the European one has a beta available that is very stable. My thread is seeking someone who's confident of the steps to 1st going European & 2nd installing nougat once there, as there was some debate of complexity to doing even that.
I've been through exactly what you are wanting to do @dutchdoggs54 . Unfortunately I can't tell you step by step how I got to where I'm at.
I was on W09128BXXX out of the box . Read the topic that you have linked in your first post and decided to do it using firmware finder to force the update to Nougat as they described. It actually went very well and Nougat worked great with the exception of Bluetooth not working.
I have to say during the upgrade when it booted into recovery and it was TWRP I was concerned. Believe it had an error but it worked and replaced TWRP as I recall with a stock recovery.
So after all that I decided I wanted my tablet branded as a BTV-W09C100B006. Below is the topic where a member thought they bricked their tablet.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/how-to/bricked-m3-btv-w09-t3612699
They were given directions to download the Full update package for the version I just mentioned.
This member got their tablet working again and in the process found that 5Ghz wifi is enabled on C100B006 by default.
That was the main reason I rooted my tablet.
I followed the directions knowing I force install a different version of Nougat from your link.
Downloaded the full version software and dropped it in the dload folder on my US tablet and did the upgrade.
Tablet rebooted and shortly after it rebooted again going to recovery (I tried may times to boot). Don't recall the error but after I unlocked my bootloader again it reset the tablet and I was able to access it again. I did relock the bootloader so I can see updates without any problems after that.
In the end I got what I was after. My tablet shows as a BTV-W09C100B006 and can check for updates.
5Ghz wifi is enabled by default. As I said I relocked the bootloader so I'm not rooted. Overall it's works so well I'll wait for Nougat to get released and then do the official upgrade. After the scare of booting to recovery it was worth every nervous minute of it.
Try to talk to OP from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/...-root-t3374068
Maybe he can make this app available to Mediapad M3, then changing OEMINFO will be easy.
I posted a question there.
No luck
Ok, so I tried following @Samavb's great instructions and guidance in the other thread last night. Made it all the way to the point where he says to install 009 from the Huawei website - got it downloaded and loaded up on the tablet only to find that it wouldn't install because the 009 file on the website is BTV-DL09 not the BTV-W09 version a US tablet would need.
So I got frustrated and tried installing the B301 build that appeared on firmware finder when I was on the W09-006 build...this was nougat and was cool but no keyboard and the play store wouldn't install anything, so I was forced to revert back to 006.
So, long story short, hours of work have confirmed that there doesn't appear to be a way to get a US tablet to fully functional Nougat at the moment. If there was a 009 or 010 build like Samavb mentions for the US model, maybe it would work, but those aren't anywhere to be found - firmware finder, russian site he mentions or otherwise.
So, I'll happily sit on 006 and wait for a US OTA update. That is unless anyone can tell me exactly how to make this US model into a European model.
Same boat as original poster. US w09 on build c128b003. Firmware finder just finds the same version. Anyone know when there might be a us version update released. I thought it was supposed to be may so have been waiting patiently.....but may is over.

In Firmware Finder select the menu in the top left corner. (3 bars)
Right below your model number, select change model and enter BTV-W09C100 and then search.
You should see B301 and it's a full OTA. However, as I understand it this is just a beta/test release.
Only issue I had with it, bluetooth didn't work. Seeing as how I don't use it, didn't bother me.
I highly recommend you fall back to the other topic about forcing the upgrade to Nougat.
Only difference from my tablet and yours. I was on C128B002. I had already rooted and couldn't get that update.
Also US 64gb version here and hoping for an update to Nougat and EM5. Would love to see it!
Huawei have been quite attentive for updates in other markets which is great. Too bad the non-LTE version in US doesn't get the same love.
Buying this tablet was a roll of the dice for me, banking on the hope that Huawei would be attentive to software updates (for all markets) and custom ROMs could serve as back up/enjoyment. This tablet has solid hardware and with another launcher it is decent.
Sadly, my experiment to try out a non-Nexus device without the latest (or close to pure) Android version is coming to an end. The last M3 sold on Swappa went for around $300.

Yep.
Thanks Purple Lady!
Too anyone in this thread, I want to install the latest version available in Firmware Finder.
When I select download, I get 3 file choices. Which should I pick to download then what are the steps to update? Please point me to the best post to reference as there are a few.

from what i gather. if you're going from MM to Nougat, you need to install the Full OTA. for that, there are 2 files, you will need both of them. from there, i'm not sure.
My girlfriend bricked her phone when it died while moving apps over to the sd card. I'm trying to flash back the stock image but it throws a "bootloader security version downgrade" error every time I try to flash the latest rom we have posted on here. I know this is because her phone was on a later version than the image I'm trying to flash for her, but I can't find her version (NPJS25.93-14.7-5) anywhere, likely because she keeps it constantly updated and doesn't have her phone rooted or anything. If anyone happens to have this update image laying around I would be forever grateful.

I'm new so I can't post this link directly. Search for "Motorola-Firmware-Team" and then click on download androidfilehost. I just used it for my soft-bricked Moto G4 XT1625. I used the current firmware on my phone (ATHENE_NPJS25.93-14-4) to return to stock android. There are quite a few firmware choices on this site.

They don't have the newest file up yet, the latest they have is the 14-7, not 14-7.5. Still got the downgrade warning. Thanks for the site though, I'm going to keep an eye on it.
