I've read in another thread that the user over clocked to 1.6......have you tried this? I'm wondering if that overclock is stable

I tried, and it freezes after some minutes on my device... but this happen since 4.0.4 when I overclok it up to 1.6 or 1.5
I believe it may work on some devices, you can try it just not apply it on boot

Does rooting and installing a custom rom make these devices faster?
I really am looking for a rom to improve Google Chrome browsing-and only that.

if any of you are running some old ROMs please post Antutu score, then we can compare the ROMS to each other, because after to many flashes it's hard to find point of reference.
If you know any other bench stuff, plea post it as well and remember to as info about CPU speed that you are using.
I will post Nougat 1,5Ghz as soon as I get home.

OK, Antutu doesn't work on Galaxy Tab 10.1 Nougat, you can install it but can't benchmark, we need a diffrent app to compare ROMs.

[Q] Which ROM would you recommend?

Hello,
I am trying to flash a better ROM for my sister's Galaxy 3, currently the one came with the phone is super laggy and slow. I am coming from the X10 Mini Pro forum, and we only have like 3 custom ROM there, but it seems Galaxy 3 have quite a lot more choices...
I am wondering which one is the currently most stable ROM here that have the lag issue fixed? I flash my X10 quite often, but i don't plan on flash and re-flash my sister's phone. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
i would recommend jpm+jit enabled.....
i am cureently using the same....and i am quite happy with it....
I am a advance user, like i said, i flash my X10 pretty much every time the xda developer come out with a hotfix or a newer version of their ROM, the current ROM that i am running on my X10 have stuff like hybrid Foyo/Gingerbread, overclock, undervolt, jit etc. Is not 100% stable, and i need to force close some stuff once in a while, but i have no problem with it.
I don't mind flashing a custom ROM, as long as one of its release is stable (since this will be for my sister's phone, which is a noob).
However, won't the "stock XXJPM or JPN" still have the lag issue though? I thought all the OEM ROM have the lag issue?

Can't, glanced through it,
"This ROM is fast.. no known bugs(only the camera bug), restarts, laggs etc.."
My sister uses the camera for SURE.

hmm... i really tought it was stable... then you can make your own custom rom via Team Lambent Corrosion kitchen and if you want ROM without problems, a "buggless beast" then dont flash any ROMs
I suggest it too, it has Fugumod, the latest firmware and some bug fixes...

Shouldn't you be plugging your own ROM?
That aside, I think stock JPM will do her a treat. Or then deodexed + JIT + Fugutweaks. The camera is an issue pretty much in every rom and it can be avoided by disabling the location stuff. Or it could be someone has a fixed Camera.apk laying around somewhere. If so, let me know, I want it.

no i was thinking that destiny might be the most stable ROM here and thats why i suggested it and as i said EVERY rom has bugs but i tought destiny didnt... and people should just try GreenMods ROM i dont want to say its the best, i know when people test it they will love it i dont have to recommend it

Hum.. i know X10 Mini Pro's ROM has Camera.apk that came with it, and works, but i prefer the Sony Ericsson's SECMCamera.apk instead. So i swapped it out. I wonder if that Camera.apk would work on Galaxy 3...
I think i will try to download and gather up the above mentioned 2 ROMs, and try it out this weekend then...

Guide on ROM ratings?

I remember seeing a guide awhlile back with ratings of each ROM, how it rates on visuals, battery life, etc and overall. Ive been on the latest Trigger for a couple of months now and would like to try a Gingerbread ROM. Im trying to find out which one is most stable with all features that Trigger has.
the only way is to flash them and try. but each GB has problems and so you'll have to figure out which problems you can live with and which you can't.

I run CM7 right now and like it, but you should know your way around how to Odin, how to use adb and shell stuff, and how to make sire partitions are formatted through cwm.
As for the Samsung gb roms, I haven't touched them.

im running simply honey and its so smooth that i can watch 720p on any website :0
Yes... the browser is that smooth... and its really stable...

To be honest CM7 nightlies are no more difficult than any other ROM. Knowing how to Odin for sure but that's if you have problems or want to come back to a pre-GB ROM. And if you do any kind of messing with ROMs you should know how to Odin anyway. I've never had to use adb or anything shell related outside of my own tinkering just to learn more.
Although right now I believe the CM7 nightly builds after #8 have call audio issues. I don't know if that has been fixed yet.
There's no way to have a definitive source for ROM comparisons because no matter what, it's going to come down to personal preference and your device.
However, the fun is in flashing and trying new stuff. For the most part, ROMs will have screenshots associated with the ROM thread.
Just go flash happy as long as you are familiar with Odin.

What's the battery Life with that rom?

Please, the fastest and responsive rom...!!!

Hi guys, can you tell me wich is the fastest ever rom for daily use?
Thx!
My champion ROM now is Acudroid. Today I am using it with Red Pill 2.0.1 kernel.
Smooth and slick.

No way to tell. Only try it yourself. The choice should not be / and will not be made on by the fastness...
Definitely AOPK or CM9. Much better than any Gingerbread rom I've tried.
Gesendet von meinem Galaxy Nexus mit Tapatalk
CM9 and Hyperdroid are my 2 favorite ROM's. Hyperdroid doesn't work with 1 game though (T-Aiko!), and CM9 isn't supported on an app I beta test, so I tend to switch back and forth between the ROM's
My favorite roms BOCA rc1 final project ( fastest benchmarks)
i get myself root then use spareparts+ and cf-root tweak manager, and i get myself a smoother and faster response.
mine is build number dxjpi, root using kernel cf-root 3.3 jq1 (android 2.3.3).

Overcome isn't bad I guess, but I much prefer Hyperdroid over Overcome
My favorite ROM is OVERCOME (Overcome 7 Series v4.1.0) .
I am using it with Overcome Kernel v4.0.0 and lsherif's RTL patch.
CM9. Tablet UI beats anything gingerbread can pull even if you lose the rear camera for photos, still it works on apps like angel camera but no flash. I installed cm9 and won't go back, ever.

Not sure it's the fastest, but certainly not far from it. The difference is the user interface; so user friendly that I'm finally really using my SGT.
I tried the CM9 2 days ago but I find that it's not quite smooth when viewing web pages whether I used Dolphin browser, Opera, Chrome or the stock browser. Any way to overcome this?
I'm mainly using Opera mobile (not mini) on CM9 + latest humberos kernel and browsing is pretty smooth.
I have tried a few different roms on my Tab and IMO Overcome 4.1.0 and 4.0.0 are my favs as far as speed and stability its the best for daily use I have no probs on my Tab at all...
For me, its a toss between hyperdroid and boca rc1.

Get CM9 here.
Flash ROM, then the kernel for your tab version and then the Gapps for CM9. You're welcome.

Kernels

can someone list which kernels work with the 0.014 ICS update for the a500? im sick of the stock kernel that came with cm9, i believe and want to flash another one.
my tabs unlocked, cm9 installed, but is laggy so i think OC'ing it may help a tad.
ty in advanced as im new to the world of flashing kernels

Currently, there are no known OC/UV kernels for the 500/501 running ICS. With the exception of TegraOwners, however it only works with the Tegraowner rom as best I know.

Look in my thread , they are not OC kernels , the tweaked ones but they improve smoothness big time.
One thing they are build for 1.031.00 based rom , they will work on older versions but it is possible that camera fails.

I dont know what it is... But I cant get a good run with your kernel. Day to day use its nice... But as far as benchmarks I cant get the results that I "feel" from your kernel.
Could also be "my" ROM tweaks just dont like your kernel, **** happens

Both kernels are smooth. Good job to both of you! :good:
But like any device you have CPU Bins... My bin may be the same as Flar2's and your bin may be different...
Case in point... I cannot O/C my Nexus 6 with Flar2's kernel but it runs smooth. Agitates my I cant O/C but its smooth so I cant really complain.
Benchmarks are just for bragging rights anyways! How the every day usage feels is the important part. I think the two kerenls (yours and his) are equal for daily usage!
I would recommend either. They are both great!
Wish I had Kernel skills like that! Im just a ROM guy
I have stock nexus 9 decrypted, elemental x kernel OC to 2499 an GPU of to 984, deadline scheduler... Can't ever seem to get more than 58k....
So weird that the USB host guy says "stock ROM with elemental kernel" and Gert's like a 67k out the gate.
I cant even Check the CPU BIN because this is an Nvidia chip and that info isn't stored in the same place in android as it is ith Qualcomm chipsets.
