Hi guys, I'm from brazil and I got my Moto G4 plus 3 days ago (32 gb + 2gb ram), well until yesterday the camera was perfect but yesterday I noticed that every time I took a pic it would stay half away through the screen for like 2 ou 3 sec until i could take another pic.
Well, I tought it was because I changed my launcher and put some music (2 gb of music) so I reseted the phone, now I have no apps and the problem came back.
OBs: its in booth cameras
It got better when I forced the app to close but came back again and I had to close again so I think its the camera stock app? any sugestion?
Thanks so much
Are you using HDR mode?

Hey guys I got my phone the other day and last night I had some issues with the camera. I was at a wedding taking a few pictures and I noticed that after a few pictures the camera would stop taking pictures. It wouldnt freeze but pressing the shutter would have no effect. If I was taking pictures with the flash on auto, then when this would happen the flash would just stay on (as if it were in video mode).
I bought two phones (one for my wife) and she had the exact same problem.
Anyone know what's up?

Mine did the exact same thing. I was using the camera pretty heavily and all of a sudden it just quit taking pictures. I rebooted and hasn't happened since.

same exact thing happened here... seemed to happen after a run of a few photos, closing the app (via the recent apps button, swipe to close) helped, but happens again after a while...
Yeah... rebooting or closing the app helped but it still happens. I even did a hard reset.

My wife is having this same exact issue - its driving her nuts (and me nuts, by proxy).
She's had success fixing the issue by rebooting. What I've noticed is that this seems to happen when the camera app is working really hard to track a face, or a group of faces with the face detection feature.
[Temporary Solution]
This is deffinetly a camera bug!!
We should open a thread in the Android Bug List if there isn't one already.
Problem:
The issue is with focusing in very dark environment.
It happens when the camera can not meter correctly and becomes stuck.
The entire camera app hangs and does not respond to user input.
At this point it's best to kill the camera app by pressing the Recent Apps button (double rectangle)
and swiping the app away. Restarting the app restores functionality.
One temporary solution:
The app only hangs when pressing the blue "Take a snap" button while the focus circle is absent.
To take a picture in the dark without problems first tap the screen to focus on a subject.
When the focus circle turns green it's safe to take the picture.
Yeah. Its a bug. I noticed it when taking more than five pictures.

Its not about the number of pictures you take. Try snapping a picture while the camera is in the middle of tapping to focus (before the sensor goes green) that usually does it for me. It's hard to reproduce immediately but I am seeing it happens A LOT when taking pictures.
It's Google issue 40996: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40996
Just over the past week I have been experiencing some trouble while taking a picture using HDR on my Nexus 4. I will open the app, activate HDR and my camera will make a few audible tick sounds and then the phone reboots. Now when I say audible, its a loud click which happens about 3 times. It doesn't happen every time and I can still take pictures, but randomly it will happen. I was running PA 4.5 with FK when it happened so I reverted to stock to see if it still happened and it does.
I have dropped my phone a few times but I have always had a case on it, using the Ringke Fusion. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

Well, I had my LG G3 swapped with a Meizu MX4 Pro a few days ago. A few issues have cropped up.
The other guy's FlyMe account is still logged in. But, that's ok. I can still update the phone without his password.
BUT, checking on the camera options, I see that there is no "Night Mode" as one of the options. Is there a workaround here? I checked the settings and I don't see it.

I see. I have to say, the G3 really takes excellent day and night time photos but the touchscreen issues I'm encountering with the Lollipop update is a dealbreaker.
I am happy with my MX4 Pro though. Looking forward to MX 5. :good:

I flashed cloudy rom as soon as i got, I didnt notice any issues with LP rom with it so far, its working without issues.
What probems did you get?
I rarely take selfies, but I noticed yesterday that when I tried to, I couldn't switch over to the front facing camera using the gesture in the camera app or by way of the icon in the camera app.
It acts like it's going to - shows the "flipping" animation, but then just shows the rear camera again.
I've gone as far as doing a factory reset on the phone and going back to all stock settings - same is still happening.
Any suggestions?
Was it after the latest Android update? I had a camera issue after the Android update was installed this morning. The camera gave me a "camera failed" every time I tried to launch it.

No it was before the one I got just 2 days ago as well. I installed. 3rd party selfie app just now and it just shows a blank screen for the front camera. Betting the camera is hosed...
A little more info - seems the phone thinks that the rear camera is both the front and rear camera....
I installed AIDA64 and the REAR camera is listed twice under devices - and no front-facing camera. Guess that would explain why when I flip from front to rear it always displays the rear camera....
Now the big question - how to fix?

in software updater on your phone, yes. might take a day or so to sync though. but it may solve the problem if your factory image to reset your phone is bad
Well I finally got around to flashing via ODIN - same problem on both stock AT&T Nougat and on the Unlocked Nougat :-/
Phone is out of warranty as well.
DOH!

Ok thanks - will try it today! If it fixes the camera I'll be coming back to the unlocked Odin - love the speed and lack of crapware from AT&T but miss the camera.

Let me know, I have never seen that issue. If your not able to do it take it to a Samsung rep at best buy. (I'm one of them)bro get it reflashed.

I've googled the hell out of it and haven't found one single peep about it - if it weren't for AIDA64 showing the same camera twice I'd be clueless as to what the problem was!
I put together this unboxing, and some first impressions for you guys in this video, but MAN it was a PITA getting it working at first. Check it out.

Got mine today.
Had to update soon as I put it on the phone.
The camera is why I bought the phone and its just a big disappointment.

why a disappointment???
Its got a lot of lag.
Boot up is slow, picture taking is slow.
Maybe I'm not doing something correct but the texted pics were a waste of time.
Havent tried emailing a video or picture yet, couldnt get a video to text.
