Random reboots - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hello, everyone!
Last week I received a brand new Xiaomi Redmi 3S. Everything seemed fine until I noticed that the phone tends to reboot from time to time. Sometimes, it can't work for a couple of minutes before rebooting and sometimes I can spend hours playing with it before the error happens.
I tried updating to the latest official stable MIUI and the problem persists. I switched to the developer version, to no avail.
Then, I decided to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM (from Xiaomi.EU) and it didn't solve the issue.
Reading through some threads in the en.miui forums I found some posts by a guy who claimed that the problem could be solved by using KernelAdiutor... But his method didn't work.
I made a video, as the vendor requested. There, you can see the problem: It rebooted my phone twice in less than 5 minutes.
I think that this problem isn't related to the battery, as the reboots have happened even while the phone is connected, and just before each reboot the phone freezes for a moment, like if a program crashed.
Any ideas on how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.

No expert here, but seems could be hardware error. Next time if you happen to have such thing, don't unlock the bootloader. But maybe you can relock it (if thats needed) and install stock and send it back to them. The device seems to have a defect.

same issue for ME also ! every day crying with redmi 3s ! F**k

Sometimes bricked phone? Strange problem

Hey guys (and girls),
I've got a strange problem with my phone.
Almost every time I have to shut it down it won't turn on again.
I can try everything like going in recovery or download mode, just nothing happens.
I installed JDC optimized cm 12.1 on the phone but the problem appeared after a failed factory reset in stock rom without anything flashed.
It helps when I remove the battery for a longer time, like an hour or so.
I installed a new bootloader and modem, I flashed a pit file but nothing helped. Flashing works without problem, once it turns on.
Generally the phone runs smooth and without any bugs or errors.
Could it be an hardware failure or is it a software thing?
Thanks in advance for any help! If you need more informations just ask. It's a i9505 by the way
It appears to be a software problem. If it is a hardware problem you would get the problem regardless of the rom that you flahsed.
Install the stock rom via odin and wait and see for two weeks whether the problem comes back or not. If the problem comes back then you might have a hardware problem.
I have the same problem. In another forum someone told me to be something relative to the power button but I've not tested that at the moment
Enviado desde mi Be Touch 2 usando Tapatalk 2
I have actually no problems once the phone startet, everything works fine.
It has had the problem first with stock rom, then i flashed JDC optimized Cyanogen and it was still present.
Then i thought it could be some problem with the Memory and i flashed a PIT, but that didn't change a thing.
Right now i'm without phone since 15 o'clock, its 00.15 now. That really ****s me up!

Restart in every 1,2 min .

I have some serious issue with my samsung m30s .
My phone restart in ever 1,2 min.
I tries flashing stock firmware through odin .
Still it wont worked.
I tried installing twrp and magisk.
After that i tries to install Prish os . But still before booting into system . Its restart every time .
I need help
Please help me.

Hey, sad to hear that you are facing issues, but it seems problem is something else, as you mentioned it rebooting on STOCK ROM as well so.
If you can share some screenshots of about device we can check BL version and few things also feel free to text me on telegram @neel0210 so that we can have proper convo and can help you as much as possible.
I too have freeze and reboot problem whenever I use device, its random and cannot be predicted when its going to happen,i tried all ROM ,still same issue persists
yes me too have freeze and reboot problem whenever I use device, its random and cannot be predicted when its going to happen,i tried all ROM ,still same issue persists
why we have same problem in same time? this is from samsung or what?
Hi, is there some new development yet?
Been having that same problem for the last few days now. There were short periods where I could use the device without any issues, but now it's restarting after just one or two minutes, if it even gets that far.
I have the same issue as well
For me the device fails to boot now.
The only way to get it to boot is force off encryption and using lineage.
Yet the phone panics in any app like even amazon.
Service people say it's hardware fault and needs the board to be changed costing 80% of what I paid for the phone itself.
Any help?
Guys, same issue is happening with my sister's A50 from last july(2021) and is still present. On stock rom it was not even usable but on lineage os i am able to use it for YouTube, songs and pretty much other stuff.
Looks like the issue is with the memory ic but I can't check it with anyone as in india even the people who repair devices are not well versed with knowledge and speculate on everything.
I've seen foreign repair guys, they have great knowledge when it comes to repairing of the devices.
I wish we had knowledgeable local repair guys in india too(went Little off topic but what can I do, I've been feeling this a lot lately).
If anyone knows anything or can point in the right direction then pls help.
Thanks for reading.

Random reboots after the last software update

My M30s (bought in September 2019) started rebooting randomly about a week ago. The last software update on the phone was in June 22nd (evidently the latest One UI Core update to version 3.1) . Device care did not show any red flags, but the restarts happen without any specific indication. I've sent error logs multiple times to Samsung support through the Samsung Members app, plus a log dump to a email address that was specified by another user on the Members site.
On the side I tried a lot of different things to try to stop these restarts, but nothing is helping.
I found out on Twitter that a number of Samsung Galaxy phones that came with same/similar Exynos processor have all faced this issue. And Samsung is apparently recommending a motherboard replacement.
https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1415681717919047700
If anyone else is seeing the same problem and has resolved this (without motherboard replacement), please reply with your solution!
But beyond that, I am trying to see if rooting the device and installing another will help. As a n00b, I have been struggling with that for the last two days. I've gone through the rooting process multiple times & patiently starting from scratch (flashing a stock ROM) every time.
But will rooting plus a custom ROM (Pixel Experience, potentially) get me past this random reboot issue?
Physically the phone still seems good and I have had no other issues before this random reboot problem started. So if persisting with a custom ROM install will help, please let me know. Otherwise, I will just shut this exercise and buy a new phone.
(P.S: Am a n00b. If someone can help me troubleshoot or can point me to a n00b proof rooting procedure), do let me know. The phone is no longer stock because I'm in the middle of another rooting exercise.)
I don't think you would have to root for that. You can just flash your original firmware to system which was working normally. You can find the files on the internet. You can use Odin and it'll be fine.

Rooting or flashing custom rom won't help as I've tried everything with my galaxy a50 but the issue still persists. It's related to hardware of the device. Maybe some loose connections in the motherboard. Unfortunately, we don't have skilled local repair guys in India(assuming you too belong to India) who could look into this.

If you under clock all cores below 1ghz and set selinuxe to permissive mode then magic happens.not even single reboot in last 26 days. Before it was restarting every 5, 10 minutes.
I am also facing the same issue with my M21, downgraded to android 10, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Freezing and rebooting with any ROM

Hi all,
since some weeks I've been facing an issue with my galaxy s7 edge.
I was using Floyd Rom (last version) for many months working great. Suddenly, the phone got freezed and rebooted. Since then, it's happening with my daily use very often.
It is like this: I'm using the phone with email, or checking something in browser (or with any other app) and then:
1. It gets freezed and unresponsive
and then
2. Temperature starts to increase until I reboot the phone
I've tried several roms with the same result: Floyd, Lineage, DotOS, Pixel Experience, etc...
However, and even without installing any rom, it happens the same.
Tried formatting as well with TWRP, and still the same.
Last week I tried installing the last version from the STOCK rom (android 8.0) of samsung from the official website with ODIN. The result is the same. It freezes and then raises temperature/reboots.
I'm starting to think this is a hardware issue, but before I'd like to share it here to see if anyone has any other idea before throwing my beloved S7 edge to the bin...
Any idea is very welcome.
Thank you!

The problem is in the hardware. The device must be checked to determine the problem
thank you for your answer.
Is there any app that tests/diagnoses the hardware?
I doubt if it worths to take it to tech service. It's a 4-5 year old phone...

I am facing the same issue after installing floydQ rom. Then I tried stock rom and the same freezes and reboots continued.

My device keeps shutting down.

Hey!
It's my first time to customize my redmi note 7.
Before I unlock the bootloader and install pixel rom, I had once an experience that it shutted down when I was playing a video.
Then I unlock the bootloader and install the pixel experience plus based on android 12 rom, at first I was hesitant to do it but then I was amazed when I installed it. I notice that my battery isn't accurate at all because it's too fast to drain. Then another day, I'm planning to play music or video in my device but it shutted down, then keep restarting but isn't booting at all because it was stock on "Redmi based on android" then restart again. I was thinking that it was because of the rom I installed, so I installed another pixel rom which has the same problem occurs. So after searching for the solution, I read one statement that it could be on the rom I installed so I change on the Havoc OS (I tried going back to miui rom but it was sucks, it keeps crashing).
At first it was ok (Havoc OS) but then when I reboot my device it wasn't booting up at all unless I connect it to my charger. (The restarting problem and sound problem still occurs)
P.s. I followed all the instructions and watched how to install it, the clean flashing of roms.
It was my first time, so, I was thinking if it happens in your device too and could possibly give me some troubleshoot to fix it.
Thank you in advance! I hope you'll notice this thread!

Do you have the same issue? First time in customizing rom? Did you follow all steps in clean flash?
