hello
i unlocked bootloader and rooted my p8lite, twrp is installed. im on 6.0 marshmallow and want to downgrade to 170, when i bought it it was on 171,but i want dual sim. the problem is how to unroot it and install stock recovery, than install b300. i tried already but it said no update.app found. what could be the problem. i had supersu on my homescreen could not delete it after unroot. i searched all xda and google for it but cant figure out what to do next. i realy need this badly to do,because i cant open anything on my phone its like a tablet. if anyone can help me wth steps to try. i will try again to unroot, install stock recovery nad try again to force update b300 "UPDATE.APP".
can i install 170 on b300 or it must go, b300-b190-b170 and than b534 6.0?
pls help and thanks
Make sure the name is "update.app" and not "UPDATE.APP" for me b170 worked just fine after that last night.
Also b300 does not visibly change anything. And install the b170 from the dload by boothing the phone while holding all the three buttons on the right side and release when you see huawei logo.
you need to flash stock recovery. Then flash v052 via fastboot commands. (info and links you can find here on xda). Then you can do upgrade through EMUI updater (by local update files) - info about upgrade to dual sim you can find here, on xda, again). Those are my steps, tried few times. Good luck.
Probably you need unroot the phone.
i fixed it. thanks anyways.

Hope this helps, nice of him to share it.
(I'm new to this) So, I bought a P8Lite, and I have no problems with it, but it comes with Android 5.1. I'm in Greece and everywhere in this forum and elsewhere people seem to have at least Android 6, EMUI 4.x and hoping for Nougat.
I have not gotten any Marshmallow update, and on Huawei's official firmware site, checking for the ALE-L21, the closest thing to Marshmallow is a rollback package to Android 5.
What should I do?
Thanks
what is your build number? Since you're on Greece, you must have ALE-L21c432bxxx. If the value of xxx equals to 170 or 188 then you are eligible to get Marshmallow update. If, by any chance you're not getting it and you're already above b170 then i request you to follow this link

Yeah
It's been a while, but yeah, I downloaded b170 from the site and tried local update with its update.app. I get "Software install failed". What should I do? Should I try flashing b560 or something? The mega thread says I should have b170 and above (204 > 170)
(Late) UPDATE for anyone that might stumble upon this: Just local update with B560 and OTA to the latest

you can't install MM from a certain LP builds.
for example B186 doesen't get MM
I'll make it easier for u.
unlock your bootloader, download the MM latest firmware (update.app)
extract the system.img, boot.img, cust.img, and recovery.img.
flash it via fastboot (i.e "fastboot flash system system.img e.t.c)
and DONE! your p8 lite has MM

You should only apply updates with the same Cxxx as yours.I thought that you have C432 from the other guy's post so I'm sorry.
And I've found B210 with C469 so you can update to this first with extracting the recovery from it with Huawei Update Extractor and flashing via fastboot and then updating via dload but i don't know if there's EMUI 4.0 for C469.

Hi,
What happens if you update with the wrong Cxxx?
I just got a used p8 that's got GRA-L09C02B191 on it. I'd like to update it to Android6 before starting to screw around with custom ROMs. I've got FirmwareFinder running, and it's already found 200+ options, none of which appears to be C02, despite that being my range setting. Is my model unupdateable?
TIA!

Thanks for the lightning fast reply!
That's not so bad, I don't care about themes, don't use Android Pay, and doing the updates manually isn't a huge pain. Is there anything else that I lose? Presumably I'll be able to roll back to gra-l09c02b191 to restore full functionality?
So can I then just go directly for the latest firmware, which I guess is B370?
Thanks!

Extract the files...
Then put the update.app file in folder named dload and copy that to your local storage..
After that, power off your device and then hold vol+, vol-and power key for atleast 10 seconds..
Then, the phone should start in installation mode..
Note: Check the update.app file size.. If its gratee than 2GB them the above process should work. If its less than you can do it by OTA...

amangeek, being a rooted phone, I don't think that is a wise choice. Unroot first, & then perhaps yes.
----------------------
Anyway RautMike, if you have done as above & everything is fine - well, great.
If you haven't attempted yet, do as advised in these threads instead - similar situations, so apply the same principle:
How to upgrade Huawei P8 lite [rooted+twrp]
[P8Lite] Twrp + official update
I couldn't find the full version of C432B188 firmware to download, which is required to extract the recovery file(s) needed. So, if you cannot either, you can extract the necessary file(s) from B170 (one firmware before) - the full stock rom for B170 can be downloaded from here directly via Huawei's servers.

Did you not read the threads I posted? Just follow them - no TWRP needs to be used in those methods.
Doing it that way you'll lose root, so after updating to Marshmallow you will need to re-root by reinstalling TWRP (for Marshmallow) & SuperSu: TUTORIAL - Huawei P8 Lite Android 6.0 Marshmallow B574 Root

Yes, you're right - I forgot about that!
You can get it from here perhaps: Install TWRP Recovery, Backup Full System, Android Rooting and Recovery Back to Stock (works on both Android 5/6 + L21/L23 models)
If that doesn't work, a 'forced' update does apparently (could be risky though, so make a full nandroid backup with TWRP before attempting): [INTERESTING] Updating system while rooted
Also, according to the op, "When you install update by this method, you lose TWRP, root access and all what you have flashed by TWRP."
Alright, thanks, before i flash the stock recovery, how should i make an backup? I already have one of system that i made with twrp, is that enough?
Oh, anyways, all good Thank you very much, i just flashed the stock recovery with no problems, so happy lol, thanks again!

from what i can see, this is probably the OTA use to update from MM to N in the chinese variant. so meaning you must be in the software require to be able to update from MM to N using this file.
still there is a few partitions i'll need to create a Stack for the Chinese variant, cuz here in this zip they are in a form of Patch and not full.
Can someone port this for TWRP for chinese version?

Could I ask you some questions please?
I installed this package and this seemed to change something in the bootloader. I can boot up, use my device with no bugs. But I can't enter bootloader.
Trying to flash twrp recovery from EDL caused me a soft brick. After that I can't even enter recovery.
Then I managed to flash the recovery.img, extracted from your pakage.
Now I want to go back the stock Zte 6.0 rom. But the recovery cant flash the update.zip, which I got from zte china website. It said that my device had a blank "ro.product.device". Trying the DrakenFx system zip failed the verification.
Could you please guide me how to go back? This rom has root app but press Root button does nothing. And I cant enable OEM unlock under Developer Option.
Thank you in advance.

1. Why did you installed this package?
2. Did you have the device for this package?
3. Did someone told you was OK to flash this package?
4. Which variant to you use.
@savior333
Got the file, I'll check today and see if N stack can be done for LineageOS. Thanks again

1. I just cant stand the Mifavor anymore so I take the risk and install it.
3. Nobody told me it was OK to flash it. But in the end my device boot up and run flawlessly.
2. and 4. I have the A2017 4G/64Gb Chinese variant.
Curiosity cant kill my device but it leaves me no way back.....
Ps: As I looked into the build.prop inside the official A2017 B11 package and this pakage, I saw the stock has "ro.product.name=P996A03" while the N pakage has "ro.product.name=P996A03_N"
