Hello everyone,
yes i tried the search, but i really could not find anything matching my problem
I want so gift my S4 to a friend for christmas and wanna do a full wipe + new custom rom (currently sitting on Ressurection Remix Remix 5.5.5)
When i try to enter TWRP i get stuck at the teamwin screen
I've tried the following:
- flash older TWRP again via Odin
- install newest TWRP again via TWRP Manager App
- flashing Stock Recovery (could not even get into anything, bootloop)
Any suggetions how to solve this problem?
Sorry for any grammar/vocabulary mistakes. English is not my first language
Try flashing stock rom. That also includes the stock recovery. Then reflash twrp.

Unless you want to stay on the stock rom, or want to backup some apps, then no. Rooting will not be necessary if you plan on changing to a custom rom again.
rooted my s4 again,
twrp is finally working
but i cant flash the rom
Error executing updater binary in zip
anyone has an idea?
i allready downloaded the rom again but the zip is not broken
Are you using the latest version of twrp?
Yes 2.8.7.0

That error is caused because the recovery thinks the rom is not compatible with your phone.
Make sure your phone is compatible with the rom.
Or try these steps I found online:
1. Advance Wipe > Wipe cache, data, system, dalvik partitions.
2. Select ZIP file of your ROM and flash it.
3. You will get E:Error executing updater binary in zip (Don’t panic!)
4. Go to Reboot menu > Select Reboot to recovery.
5. After rebooting in recovery, flash the ZIP file of the ROM again WITHOUT WIPING.
Then it should work, according to the site I found it on.
The execution error indicates that the phone may not be supported by the ROM you're trying to flash..

Autorec is just the first step to twrp. Go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/twrp-twrp-2-8-0-0-kernel-f2fs-tools-t2898705 and get the bumped version 3.1.0-1.
Then put it in your phones memory, boot into twrp you got from autorec and flash the new version.

Hi,
It seems I have the same issue :
I tried to install LineAge, using TWRP 3.2.1 (from CM12.1), but nothing is working (I tried 20180425 and 20180404 nightly versions). After reboot I can see the backlight on the lcd screen but nothing else. Then I tested the installation of a CM12 version, all is right, normal boot. No error message written in the console. i tried also a CM13 install, same as Lineage.
Do you think I have to flask back to LG "OS" ?

Are you clean flashing? Make sure to factory reset, wipe system, data and cache before flash. Never wipe internal storage. Swipe factory reset again after flash. Try flashing gapps later after confirming that Rom boots fine.

Hi,
yes I wiped Dalvik, system, data & cache through TWRP, before flash. But I don't wipe after, I rebooted without GApps...
Maybe, because I read that somewhere, I need to flash a bootstack. I don't know when I have to di it, if I have to do.
Thanks

Yes, you don't wipe after flash, but you swipe the factory reset, it does not wipe but resets the flashed Rom. Give it a clean shot again. Check MD5 of the all files you downloaded with original MD5 to confirm the file didn't get corrupt.
Boot stack flash not needed. Please read the first post thoroughly in lineage thread
"""
Requirements:
Custom recovery (TWRP or any other)
KitKat (KK) bootloader (included in the lg-devs LP bootstack)
KitKat (KK) bootstack minimum; Please read the entire FAQ for important bootstack information. Installation of bootstacks is NOT recommended.
Clean flash if coming from another ROM or CM 13 (no dirty flash, wipe system too check you bootstack(needen bump support)

Hi,
what do you mean by "you swipe the factory reset", I'm not sure what it is, either "give it a clean shot again".
Sorry I'm not very aware of all those processes ^_^, and I'm french so not very aware of some vocabulary words
Thank you
Hello friends I am trying to install Custom rom in my Lenovo K6 power phone but due to some error it can not be installed. I request you to help me as soon as possible and tell me the reason for this error and if possible then suggest the correct rom for this phone.
I think you have not flashed 64bit version of twrp. Flash the correct twrp and the issue will be fixed.
Please provide me right trwp download link as well as way to install. Currently no os installed on my phone.

Download and install TWRP below, it's the 64bit version and you can install via TWRP. In the menu of installing ROMs in TWRP choose the option to install .img, choose TWRP and install, then choose the ROM you want and install. Remember that you must erase everything and format the data.
TRWP: https://dl.twrp.me/karate/twrp-3.1.1-1-karate.img (ARM64)
Opengapps: http://opengapps.org/ (ARM64)

Yeah
Flash 64 bit twrp . And don't forget to reboot into twrp again after flashing 64 bit twrp .
This problem is because of your 32 bit twrp.
Try installing 64bit twrp recovery . Then u wil b able to flash rom. Please note that twrp 3.1.0 is 32 bit and twrp 3.1.1 is 64 bit.
Please tell me marshmallow rom

I think its a very common mistake everybody does.
before installing any custom ROM make sure that u wipe Dalvik cache and cache of the device then flash the rom and gaps also.
And another major issue with the custom ROM requirements like that ROM support in one minimum version of TWRP recovery
if u install that ROM bellows the version of requirements the ROM will not install properly.

Download twrp updater from playstore, download 3.2.1.0 the latest as 3.1.1.1 will not mount your storage use twrp updater to flash official TWRP that i mentioned above
Then if you are on stock rom then take backup in some external drive and place रोम and gapps too,
Then do format data in wiping section, do it thrice and then wipe delvik, cache, data, system and internal storage too now mount external dtive(either OTG or SD card) and flash rom followed by gapps 7.1 pico
As I writing my experience as I am currently on RR ROM
Error on installing custom rom
Error 7 will be displayed while installing custom roms

Did you try to flash a stock firmware ? To install Rom you need the latest available stock firmware (because it contains new versions of Modem & stuff). Then wipe system/cache/dalvik-cache/data and flash your Rom.
This happend to me one time on a phone, I did not have the latest stock firmware before flashing Rom and my phone bootlooped to recovery.

I have been trying to install a custom rom on my 6t but i always end up with a disappointment.
The rom installs but keeps crashing or i keep booting into twrp and not the system.
The method i use is below-
Flash Oxygen os on slot a
Flash twrp
Reboot to recovery
Factory reset
Flash Oxygen os on slot b
Flash twrp
Reboot to recovery
Factory reset
Flash the custom rom
Flash twrp
Reboot to recovery and flash gapps/magisk
Reboot to system

Flash ZIP on recovery.
It's basic , Before flashing you should know how to flash stuff on recovery (TWRP is recovery you install form fastboot)
Just boot from TWRP , download the zip of your rom you wanted , flash it/sideload it and you good to go.

I did flash everything from twrp as written in my original post.
I've rooted my phone multiple times without any issue.
I know how to flash but I'm not sure what's going wrong.
Try this:
-Flash OOS on both slots and twrp
-Format data
-Flash the rom + twrp
-Reboot to system
-Go back to twrp and format data again + flash the gapps and/or magisk
