can anyone share whether they see a decryption option after performing a full device encryption on Marshmallow?
I am talking about a whole device encrypt/decrypt within MM and Not just an sd card procedure...
if i update an unencrypted LL Note 4 to MM, can I then encrypt and later decrypt within MM itself?
I am tired of searching for root in marshmallow version. Can anyone guid how to downgrade to lollipop with steps to backup appropriate partitions so i don't loose imei or any other key parameters and also enable VoLTE on lollipop.
I think its very difficult bcz lot of reference files for volte is present in the kernal which is inside the boot image , and marshmellow boot img and lolipop boot img has lot of difference

I'm going to follow the above tutorial but I’ve seen other tutorials on xda on how to root s8 after oreo update. None mention RMM State Bypass and anti removal tool but they do say you still have to flash dm verity zip which there is no mention of in this video. Just to mention my device has always had the oem unlock option since upgrading to oreo. Do we now not need to flash dm verity on oreo?
Also to add, I think I had already enabled oem unlock before installing the oreo ota update coming from nougat
Can anyone help with this at all?
Does the KingRoot app work to the S8 with Oreo?
Gone are the days where it was easy to root and even encrypt androids. Now with these locked boot loaders, not no downgrade its becoming a hassle. Thankfully, its becoming obsolete to root.
Ive been trying to root and encrypt an s7 edge but its near im possible always push one thing and another pops out. Iv tried various roms on nougat, tried a few when i was on MM but i flashed the BL and now downgrading is a hassle. The idiots even use solidrars so you cant modify the roms to use different sets of BL.
Ive not come across ANY s7 edge thats rooted and enrypted even on custom roms.
Its either become rooted with the risk of data in rong hands through flashing recovery, should it get stolen or no root but stay completely stock which is just as bad.
Anyone have a guide or anything that will make the s7e encrypted and rooted? I not bothered about not being able to flash throu twrp as lng as it cant decrypt it. even better if twrp could decrypt with password but thats probably asking too much lool !
I dont want to go on 8.0 yet, as it could flash BL and no more nougat.
Any one have a guide or anything thatl make it encrypted with root ?
This custom ROM is as close to stock as possible less the unnecessary bloat, with root AND has the ability to encrypt. There is an earlier version (5.4?) which is Nougat and the current version is Oreo. Make sure you follow the instructions and then you'll have an encrypted rooted phone running Nougat or even Oreo:
[ROM][G935F/FD][ALEXNDR] * U2ERF4 (Oreo) * DevBase v5.8 * Encryption support [Jul-03]

I've got a bit of an odd issue with my VS995 (Verizon v20). I'm attempting to root the device, but I can never manage to flash anything in TWRP. Everything gives me a "zip file is corrupt" error. I've tried using the alpha omega rom for the VS995 and a stock oreo rooted rom for the VS995. Both of them result in a "zip is corrupt" error in TWRP. Neither one of them have the "assert" line in the update script.
Another oddity that may or may not be related to this is that I could not boot after doing dirty santa. It always told me the kernel crashed. I'd love to be able to use some custom roms and root now that LG has given us the middle finger, so any help would be appreciated. I've gone back to stock oreo from a kdz file for now, because I need to have a working phone, but I plan on trying again once I get some information on what's happening.
Do you know what your Android security patch level was? I recently got a V20/VS995 that was SUPPOSED to have Android 7.x Nuget, but arrived with Android 8.0.0 so I checked the security patch level and it was Oct.2018, and the dirtysanta will only work up to the security patch level of Sep.2016 for Android 8.0.0 at least that is my interpretation
