Does anyone faced the same issue?
Camera works properly for first couple of photos but after that apps just keep processing last clicked pic and click button is not shown, pic is never saved in gallery and camera app needs restart.
I am using latest official Android nougat 7.0, not rooted, default camera app and using memory card for storing pics..
Update : same thing happens when using internal memory for storing pics.
Mention ROM, camera app, memory used for storing photos etc etc

Why factory reset is needed?
Upgrade an OS sometimes brings bug(s) to it.
Factory reset will make your phone like a fresh install.

I'll keep factory reset as last option as It will wipe out everything...is there any other way to solve the problem?
You can try to wipe cache in recovery mode.

Hi Folks,
My phone doesn't seem to lock my exact location on any of the mapping apps. I have tried downloading all possible GPS apps but nothing seemed to work. Is factory resetting my phone is the only solution? I have a Verizon version.
I have couple of questions:
1. I am rooted and I have TWRP installed. if I factory reset, am I going to lose both?
Your help is highly appreciated.

Factory reset wipes the data partition, not system. You won't lose root or TWRP.
The only app I use for GPS is FasterGPS
It might help with the speed. Hopefully you can get it working.
Hi scottdanpor,
Thanks much for quick reply. I am going to try the app you suggested, if that didn't work. I'll factory reset it.
Will post back if it solves my issue.

Sorry!
Hi guys,
A week ago, I spoke with a great friend that works at Sony in my country, about all the issues faced with the .266 (android 4.3) update. He has said that we will be getting another system update (that will still be based on android 4.3) within the next 4 months, but that an android 4.4 update was not planned .
He did tell me of a great fix to most of the issues I've faced with the .266 update, and that is to do a repair through sony update service, and then once complete, factory reset the phone making sure to tick reset internal storage. I followed his instructions, and my xperia sp is now running very smoothly, even while multitasking. I advise you guys with heaps of issues to try this for yourself, and see if it works well for you to!
That's a great news.. How long have you been using your sp since su repair and factory reset? Does it still heat up? :good:

Repair with SUS then turn on the phone, go to settings Backup&Reset, factory data reset, check reset internal storage tap reset.
Repair with SUS will reset your phone setting but then you have to do it again manually from Backup&Reset menu and that should help?

I have to confirm, after doing factory reset, phone runs much smoother than before. Apps with their data are back, but there is definitely a difference...

How do you update
Once you have received your updated
Screen Shot؟؟؟؟
I flashed CE ftf via flashtool including DATA partition, which performed wipe of internal Sdcard.
Clean install is always better than OTA update. Factory reset just like clean install a ROM

Solved this by installing SUS in Bootcamp instead of VMWare. Not sure why only a few devices are listed when installed in VMWare.
Anyway it's my first time using SUS. I can't find an option to repair the phone. It just says I've the latest software and asks if I want to factory reset it. If I say yes then it downloads the FW and flashes it...

Whenever I try to open the stock camera app it instantly closes then the message "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." pops up. It does this every time even after multiple restarts. I have tried downloading multiple different camera apps as well however it only opens the front camera and has no option to switch to the rear one. I am running 6.0.1

did you root? update? flashed firmware?
Did you flash a modified boot.img when you rooted? It has been known to break the camera. I would switch to systemless root. I had the same issue where nothing would work for the camera (stock, Snapchat, Instagram, etc). I don't recall mine crashing, but it just showed a blank screen and never loaded the camera picture.

weird, try factory rest I guess that is the only option you have. Try to disable/force stop the camera app in setting>app before.

How would I do that and would doing so void my warranty or my ability to return the phone?
No, you won´t lose your warranty
1) go to this link and read the flashing instructions : https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
2) download this image : https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/angler-mmb29p-factory-25ed9560.tgz

Thanks for the instructions but I do not feel confident carrying out the task and I have a feeling it might be a hardware rather than a software issue. At the moment I will just take the phone back to the shop I got it from.
Thanks for your help though
Unable to connect to the camera because it is being used by other apps or disabled due to security policies.
This is the error message I keep getting whenever launching my camera. I've tried factory reset but the error still persists. I can try and get a logcat but I'll be completely honest I've never done my own logcat before.
Any help appreciated, thanks for looking.
Does your camera work after a fresh reboot? Does it stop working after awhile? There might be a runaway app hogging your camera. Usual culprits are camera apps, face unlock and custom lockscreens.

I added the line to add navigation bar to phone (it doesn't work)
From my experience so far with the Axon 7, tweaking certain things on the build.prop crashes the phone. When I tried to make enable multi-windows by changing the "user" to "userdebug", it caused the same problem you were having. Nothing fixed it; not restarting, system wipe, changing the build.prop to its original setting... nothing. I simple had to restore my phone from a previous backup. Hopefully, you did do a clean backup of your device. If not, then that is a common rookie mistake. Sorry to break this down to you. I hope that this was helpful.
Only time I've seen this error, is when I downloaded a different camera from the Playstore and tried to open it the same time my stock camera was running in the background.
You don't have any other camera's installed or have an app that is open that uses your camera (like Snapchat, ect..)?
I'm sure you don't, but just throwing something out to try/check.
Just restore system from previous backup like B4oE said, if you did not make a backup just download one of the twrp backups uploaded by the users around the forums. make sure to download the correct version either b20 or b20_boot. what version are you on? did you root using tenfar + locked bootloader?

Hi, I was on stock unrooted OB3 and today updated to 8.1. But since OB3 I have an app called "Files". I can't open it as it keep closing itself. Clearing data does not help too. And I cannot Uninstall it.
Anyone faced this before?
I can't attach my screenshot from my phone as XDA app keep trying to open from this Files app.
I will try to attach from my computer when I get the chance.

No I didn't. I did OTA. I did however revert back to OB3 from LOS and relock my bootloader.

I tried factory reset and was happy that Files worked. But after I restored all my apps, it stopped working again. In the end I had to uninstall my apps one by one to find the conflicting app. It is working properly without the problem app.
Thanks for the help!
