Install the following app. Download from my dropbox account.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38673648/apps/HoneyBar_v1.0.5.apk
Needs root access. Press on the white box in the middle of the status bar to hide it and press on it again to bring it back. Enjoy!
I know you had good intentions (haha) but it's been mentioned . Idr where the thread was though.
I'm sure it's been mentioned. But I thought it's nice to provide another source for this app. Besides, here is something that you might not have thought of.
A friend of mine is lecturing at a university. He's starting to use his TF hooked up to a projector and write notes using writepad stylus, the only note taking app for android that has palm rejection. It's great.
The problem is it is very easy to accidently touch the notification bar and pops up the notification window when you're writing. Writepad stylus solves this by having a flip screen to upside down feature. But when you have it hooked up to the projector, everything is upside down. So, he recently asked me figure out a way around this.
Hence honeybar.
Now, you don't have to flip the tablet upside down to write. Simply hide the status bar and you're set.
I think that was the point of me starting this thread. It's not just for hiding the status bar. It's what you do with this ability.

Is the source posted somewhere?
If not, no problem, I can run baksmali and take a look. I ask because I have heard similar requests to put stuff on the status bar.
Thanks!

Here's the thread discussing HideBar, which is a similar app and also requires root (sorry).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265860
I apologize if this has been discussed, I really did search and only found one place where this was asked, but there was no answer. According to the Samsung 7.7 features page it says this "Mini Apps : Upgraded so you can choose and edit your own Mini Apps tray. You can easily access favorite features such as Calendar, Email, or PenMemo as a pop up over full screen applications. " So obviously my question is this. How is this done? Or is it even possible on my model? Thank you and again sorry of this has already been addressed.
If you look at the bottom bar on your Tab you will see an icon that looks like an upside down 'v'. Click on it and it will bring up your mini-apps tray. You can launch those mini apps over the app you are in.

I think you misunderstood my question. I know about the up/ down arrow and the mini apps. But it says that is is Upgraded so you can choose and edit your own Mini Apps tray. So Im trying to figure out how to change them if its possible on the wifi only 6810. Thanks

I was able to get it to work by applying one of the systemui.apk files from here. I am able to edit the mini apps now on my 6810. Thanks

Im not totally sure which one I used, but it might have been the one in post 19. But that one will change the icons as well. Im not sure where you might get one that is stock. The same author of that thread "Ssaass" makes an app called "Wizzbar" that might help you. I may be able to make one for you. Upload your systemui.apk and Ill see what I can do.

Ok, didnt think I forgot about you did you? I think this is what your looking for. The edit function shows up when you press the mini apps button. Lower right corner, cant miss it. This is all stock icons with edit function built in. Hope this is what you wanted. I tested this on my rooted stock 6810. Let me know if it works.
PS: For anyone that might want to know how I did it. All I did was use the "layout" folder in the Res folder from the apk that has the edit function. Then rezipped, changed name and permissions, and put back into system/ app.
Awesome... Thanks for your time. I'll try it when i get home tonight. I'm thanking you now anyway...

Yes, it works, thanks... But what I didn't expect is that you can't add any app you want, it's just limited to some samsung "mini" apps which really su**s!
I wonder if there's a way around that...
Thanks again I really appreciate it anyway.

Hi all
Apologies if this has already been asked but I couldn't find anything. I just got my G2 last week and have discovered today that the Voicemate app is missing? Or at least I can't find it...
Any ideas? It's a UK model on EE network.
Another question if I may, the quick access menu that you get to by holding your finger on the home key then sliding up (where voicemate is supposed to be) Is there anyway of changing which apps are accessible here.
Thanks a lot, any help appreciated.
Is there nobody with the same issue? Getting worried here...

Don't think that Voice Mate should be on that menu on D802? Don't you find it if you search for apps in the phone either? Note the space in the name if you search...
Don't have time to try right now, but I think this app is what you are looking for to change the menu: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dynamicg.homebuttonlauncher

It was more a curiosity thing, I can't believe that I'm the only one with this missing so wanted to see if there were others... Who knows what else is missing...
I suppose I can live without it until such time as I root.

Tasker would probably be your best bet.
http://tasker.wikidot.com/failedloginphoto
That is old school, but you could modify for your case.
first, i don't have root now.
second, i can start the app before and then to close the screen and to take pictures with pattern or press some place...
Wait, what?
Are u an spy or something? haha ;l
There are Gallery apps in the playstore that have a "private" function that require a password to view and some are just hidden?
Also with apps like QuicPic, and many others, you can long press on a folder and "hide" it... Then it's not visible while using that gallery app, but you can find it using a file explore or you can re-enable the view of that folder.
this is how upskirts happen
no .. i don't s[y or something like that even not something that rude, just want to take pictures and to send them to a specific number but...without opening the locked phone
there is something here

you have to understand why ppl find this EXTREMELY sketchy. you're admitting u want to take and send pics without someone knowing about it

You're not supposed to take pictures when you're taking a test, that would be wrong. And what comes to meetings, there's really no need to hide what you're doing with your phone.
i have my porposes i don't understand what these doing with the question? if you can help, help if not so not..belive me i don;t use it for illigal porposes, for thet there is special spy stuff
this is a funny post to read so far. But yeah i would not post stuff like that in here since i would make you seem very sketchy regardless what reasons may be. And good luck to find one
This is not going to go anywhere. Nor do I see anything good coming out of this. Thread closed.
Hi.
I don't know if I'm in the right place because I'm in canada and have the 900w8 (with Wind/Freedom) but anyway, just bought my Note 3 recently and I see no Mobile Data shortcut on the Notification panel and it seems this was a common problem after some update and I couldn't find any fixes for this. Also, the phone has Android version 5, which I know isn't the latest version but looks like there will be no updates for us.
So, any way I can get the Data shortcut, or maybe the android 6 version? My phone is stock everything.
Thanks.

I found a screenshot of Lollipop and it does show the mobile data shortcut.
Best I can tell you is to flash with Odin stock 5.0, but other than that, I do not know how you could fix it. Or just root it and try a custom ROM if that is something so important to you.
Thanks again for the reply and the suggestions, man. Yeah I don't know why this is happening with the Note 3s but like I said this was a common problem after some update. I've never rooted or flashed any phone and I don't know if I want to do this. So, looks like I have to live with this inconvenience. It also looks like I won't be able to swipe down to access shortcuts unless I unlock the screen. On my Moto E (Android 6) I'm able to do that without having to unlock the screen. That's another inconvenience.

Is that the case? I am not on stock anymore, but I think I remember it was possible if I just had the lockscreen to "swipe".
But then again, it could be a difference between Android 5 and 6
Flashing is an intimidating task and requires a lot of research but not as much as you may think.
Anyway, I'm not going to grind on that suggestion. Best I can tell you now is, enjoy your Note 3 experience

Yeah I guess I'm stuck with what I have for now (no Data shortcut and no swiping with locked screen) but I don't know why I can't get an update (Android 6) for the Note 3.
