Tasker would probably be your best bet.
http://tasker.wikidot.com/failedloginphoto
That is old school, but you could modify for your case.
first, i don't have root now.
second, i can start the app before and then to close the screen and to take pictures with pattern or press some place...
Wait, what?
Are u an spy or something? haha ;l
There are Gallery apps in the playstore that have a "private" function that require a password to view and some are just hidden?
Also with apps like QuicPic, and many others, you can long press on a folder and "hide" it... Then it's not visible while using that gallery app, but you can find it using a file explore or you can re-enable the view of that folder.
this is how upskirts happen
no .. i don't s[y or something like that even not something that rude, just want to take pictures and to send them to a specific number but...without opening the locked phone
there is something here
http://android.wonderhowto.com/how-...id-without-launching-your-camera-app-0163357/
but...i want it without even to open the screen

but WHY?
you have to understand why ppl find this EXTREMELY sketchy. you're admitting u want to take and send pics without someone knowing about it
example?in test, or in meeting, more?

You're not supposed to take pictures when you're taking a test, that would be wrong. And what comes to meetings, there's really no need to hide what you're doing with your phone.
i have my porposes i don't understand what these doing with the question? if you can help, help if not so not..belive me i don;t use it for illigal porposes, for thet there is special spy stuff
this is a funny post to read so far. But yeah i would not post stuff like that in here since i would make you seem very sketchy regardless what reasons may be. And good luck to find one
This is not going to go anywhere. Nor do I see anything good coming out of this. Thread closed.

hi, im wondering if there was an app that could password lock certain applications?? im currently using wm 6.5 please help
Would be nice since first thing people do when they wanna look at ya phone is click on pictures
I'd really be surprised if there exists such an app. Most developers would make an app to make accessing your apps easier. I doubt someone would make an app to stop you from accessing your apps.
The TP2 is an expensive device. So a sound suggestion would be to keep it away from kids (if that's what you're worried about).

Well, a smart thing to do would be to not keep "sensitive" pictures on your device! If you insist on having quick access to such pics, perhaps you should check out encryption software. Or simply just move them into another folder so they're not easily accessible via the album.
I can't believe that even on my beautiful sleek Nexus One, I can't view embedded email pictures. Does anyone know why this is? And if not maybe some one knows how to fix it? This is actually ridiculous if you ask me, its the Gmail app that has been made by Google for a Google operating system on a Google phone but it can't display embedded email pictures? Whats going on here?
It works fine for me... Did you push the "Show Pictures" button near the top of the email?
Sometimes they show up for me. Usually they don't though and I always press 'show pictures'. I love the phone bit its the least of my issues: I can't send mms to any phone bit android, I get 'uportal error' on a common site that the iPhone 3g and 3gs access no problem, and I often get a quarter of an inch of orange load bar when clicking a link in the browser which sometimes is only remedied by a phone reset. I have loved all 3 of my android phones though and Its google we're talking about. They are all about te internet and I trust they are diligently working to improve te average, albeit fast browser experience.
I just read my post and good God this keyboards tough to type on.

I have pressed show picture, all i get is a question mark in a little blue box and i can see the frame of the picture that is spoused to be there. I know im not the only person people. Don't make me feel like im the only one here..
Currently, the gmail app does not support embedded pictures in emails. When you see pictures it's because the person attached the picture to the email. The only way to see embedded pictures in an e-mail on your phone is to log into gmail through the browser. This has been like this since 1.5 and has been submitted to google numerous of times. Hopefully they will fix this problem.

/agree with mgorman.....
Embedded pictures is working just fine in the Gmail app, had some ad-spam from Direct2Drive, Apple, Impulse etc in my inbox just now and they all had embedded pictures. Clicked show pictures and it worked like a charm, this was also over 3g network.
As far as I know I can't take screenshots with an un-rooted phone, so I've attached a picture.

You can use the Android sdk to take pictures of the phone:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Make sure USB debugging is on, plug in phone to PC
C:\android-sdk-windows\tools -> ddms.bat
Not sure what you guys are talking about. Embedded pictures work absolutely flawlessly on my phone
Ah of course via the SDK. Been developing for Android for some time, but I've only been using the emulator since I've been too lazy to actually hook up my phone

This is the first I have heard of it but lets see if we can find out why. First we need more info to help you. Are you on a custom rom or stock? Is it crashing as your scroll at around the same place? Do you let it load completely before you scroll? How many pics?

I am running the stock rom. Sometimes it crashes when I load sometimes it crashes when I scroll around but its never at the same place. I got 32 photos.
Thanks for trying to help me out man I really appreciate it.
edit: I just deleted some of the pictures off my memory card and it seems to be working fine now but this is very crazy to me that I cant have a lot of pictures on my memory card without the album crashing.

Sounds like one of those pics are corrupted, I hate to say this but there is only really one way to find it, that is to move the pics to the pc and add them back one by one and see which one it is. (at least thats what I would do) were the pics taken with the camera or where they ones you downloaded?

I think your right about some of the files being corrupted because most of the files I deleted they were downloaded else where. Thanks for your help man!!!
I have read that some people when they get over 50 pics thats happens. It has never happend to me. Usually when I download pics and I don't put them in the DCIM folder thus they dont show up when I am scrolling through the picture in the album.
Hi guys,
Is it possible to change the contact's default picture which you can see below in the attached file to an green android man like in other phones? I am sure it is, I just would like to know how.
Thanks in advance,
Go into contacts. Select the contact. Menu/edit contact. Tap the picture space in the top left. Follow prompts. Save.
Swyped on my rooted MyTouch4G
Well, I know that much, that's not what I meant. I want it to be changed systemwide, not per each contact. Like the one in the attached image.
There is no default picture. The image in the OP post is the default. No way to change that (that I know of). The droid contact pic is something somebody added to an individual contact.

That's incorrect. That is the default when the contact don't have a phone pic on a lot of full sense ROMs. We would have to dig in the contacts apk and change the png for it. Let me look..
OK, its in there. It's called
common_icon_default_avatar_300.png. we'll need the one from the evo, I know it has the Andy avatar. And maybe it's as simple add replacing it and naming it properly

Thanks man. I was going to correct the other person about him being wrong but I was not 100 percent sure. I would think it should just be a simple fix.
Ninja-morph?
I was gone try last night, just got track down the png we want. I'll probably have to download a evo rom and get it there
After downloading 3 evo roms, I found the png needed. Changed em with ninja morph but they didn't stick. Idk
thanks for trying man.

ADB Push attached Phone.apk to /system/app and let me know if that's what you're looking for.
Make sure to nand or at least save your original phone.apk

K, I tested it on outgoing calls... it's a little too late to ask people to call me.
It's not a full screen pic neither, like OP has, that would require some serious xml edits, and then, people with actual pics would look all stretched, that happened with G1's dialers back in the day. Looks much better then that bogus original pic.
Good job bro, it works for in call. How about the contact default. Without a assigned pic?

yea just annoying when u send a msg.
Could try making sure you have your phone number set on your sim card.
Yeah, I had to make an entry for "me" with my phone number to get it to show my picture. Not really a big deal.
Named it "WHOAMI Phone Identity" so it's more or less out of the way. Inculded y address and additional contact information, since it can serve a second purpose in the event that you leave your phone somewhere and a person who isn't a complete douchebag tries to get in contact to return it.
