[Q] How do I know what custom roms are compatible with my phone.

how do i know which custom roms are compatible with my phone i have the samsung galaxy note 3 and i want to know if i download a zip file for a custom rom does the baseband version have to be the same as mine. Or does it only have to have the same Android version. I would be grateful if anyone can help me. Thanks.

Can't tell you exactly but it depends on custom rom.
The safe approach is getting to know the correct info about your device (using 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app), and then search for a right rom or you can ask in the developer's thread if it is compatible for your device.

Easy.
1) Where did you download your rom?
2) At what thread?
3) Does it mention for your phone model ex N9005 or others?
4) At the thread you downloaded the rom again, there are search button and use it to find either it can be use on your phone or not.

There are stocks roms but all on 4.4.4 android version,there are not for the moment custom roms and there aren´t at this moment lollipop custom roms,neither stock of this version. But is normal,the phone is from 2014 finals,and even on some more famous phones there isn´t still lollipop stock version.

Several days ago i read on another forums that stock lollipop por prime ,s3,s4,duos,grand 2,etc its coming on april. But in my opinion this is not sure.

SM. G531H 5.1.1 Lollipop

People, I've searching in web and I found out that a new version of Galaxy Grand Prime have been released, but this new one has Android Lollipop. Mobile spects are the same in both, except for the OS.
This mean that the ones that have G530~ version aren't getting Lollipop?

OP seems to be referring to the above link. It appears Sprint is roling out the same device with lollipop for some $60-100 more than we paid Cricket to get it with KK during the initial release.

Hi, I was ready to install CWM Recovery on my Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G531H phone which I guess it is running Lollipop but I started reading about Lollipop.
Now I have a question. What is the problem if my phone is running Lollipop? I don't understand if could be a problem if I want to install CWM and then rooting it.
Are you so kind to tell me about this?
Can I use the same CWM files that is made for Prime SM-G530H?
Can I use the same files made for Prime SM-G530H if I want to root it? Or where I can get these file?
Of course all of these question don't need to be answered. I just need to figure it out what I need to do.

Dont know about CWM recovery..BUT..I'm sure..TWRP recovery and Root exploit must match to OS version..the files are not interchangable between OS versions..unless it just happens to work out that way in development..but that'd probably be a RARE case..
I ALWAYS update..AFTER know good TWRP and Root has been developed for the next update..before I step to the next OS version..
But..like my device here..came from the box with 5.1.1 THEN one is stuck with no TWRP or Root..at the mercy of development..
You may try to revert..to the OS..when all your files were compatable..and wait it out for the next development..

Custom ROM for Grand Prime SM-G530F

I have searched the forums and other places, but there does not seem to be a custom ROM for this model phone.
I have been told that it is possible to do an upgrade to Lollipop 5.1.1 but also have not found it for this model.
Any help ?

I have Root access to my Fone and also twrp recovery installed.
Currently Running on stock OS Android 5.0
Model No: SM-N900
Baseband N900DDUEBPF1
BOOTLOADER N900XXSEBPL3
KERNEL 3.4.39 -576410
I tried to flash my fone with aryamod 6.4 but it failed to boot. So flash the backup image again. Request any member on this forum to create simple step guide as to download which version ROM for this variant.

You have Exynos chipset, so pick custom roms from the Note 3 Exynos development forum.

Stock rom is stable otherwise read the exynos rom threads and decide yourself .

want to try the android latest version on the note 3.Also the 5.0 android is slower comparatively.

Hi there,
Before you root your fone take a backup of your current version.(In case it fails you can still recover you phone else it will be brick!)
To root you fone u need to follow the videos from YouTube.
I suggest use tools/app like Nandroid manager, busy box,Root checker, Official TWRP app also other app are available.
Follow exynos thread only. As other variant firmware are not compatible.
