I used both twrp 3 and twrp 2.8.6 to flash latest supersu. But Its not booting.
Can anyone tell me the right version for twrp and supersu for moto x play xt1562 with marshmallow 6.0.1
Supersu: https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/
Go to terminal in TWRP - Advanced- Terminal type command in your phone
echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu
Then flash supersu and reboot.

I just updated to Indian marshmallow firmware. Is it possible to install root and recovery to marshmallow?
you can boot temporary with twrp recovery and install SuperSU 2.62 or install twrp and then SuperSU 2.62
Your guidance give my mxp root and recovery. but renaming without img as twrp and fastboot flash recovery twrp.img command flash the recovery. then flashing supersu via recovery is very easy, and dont install supursu if twrp prompt ask to install.,again thank you very much.
Not having much luck with this guide. I came from a PureNexus rom/ElementalX rom before flashing the factory Nougat. Tried following the guide step by step, but the Magisk toggle doesn't do anything for me.
Did you used supersu or phh superuser?
Try again, flashing stock system and boot images in fastboot then follow the guide.
What I did was factory reset, then fastboot flash everything except userdata (there's a guide in here) from M to latest N NRD90U,
Then fastboot flash twrp
Then rebooted to twrp
Flash magisk
Flash phh superuser magisk version
Booted phone
Downloaded phh superuser app from playstore
Installed magisk manager APK
Granted root, then I was able to unroot/root with the toggle
*later I flashed custom kernel but I first flashed stock boot.img then EX kernel, then magisk. As per instructions in magisk thread

Just bought a XT1575. I followed this link to get it unlocked, installed latest stock rom (6.0 MPH24.49-18-4 from here), and I installed latest TWRP recovery.
Then I tried to install root and Xposed framework. I tried several methods from this link :
Install superSU 2.62-3, my device goes bootloop. I have to recover from my TWRP backup.
Install SuperSU 2.78 with "echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu" before install. bootloop again.
Please help me on this, thank you so much!
Try this for forced systemless root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/help/wifi-wont-root-t3463656/post68764815
Then flash Systemless Xposed by topjohnwu, attachment named "xposed-v86.2-sdk23-topjohnwu.zip": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67074428&postcount=2
Or romracer's version named "xposed-v86.1-sdk23-arm64-systemless-by-romracer-20160928.zip" in sdk23 > arm64: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979
The systemless method you noted is correct. Did you boot fully on the 6.0 ROM first, before trying to flash SuperSU? If you did, verify in the TWRP terminal 'cat /data/.supersu' contains only the SYSTEMLESS=true string, and when you flash SuperSU the log says something about systemless installation.
@acejavelin I did checked there's only SYSTEMLESS=true before install. Very weird.
@pshadoww I know it works... I literally did it this morning to test the lastest 2.78-SR1. It will bootloop twice, then boot after a very long wait that seems scarily long.
@Spasticdroid Greate resources. I tried the systemless root installer you mentioned and it works.
That might be it, I guess I waited for too long and think it's not working. Anyways I used the forced systemless root installer and it works now. Thank you!
how to root stock 7.1.1
flash twrp recovery with adb then flash magisk from recovery.
which magsik file?
Always flash the latest:

I trying to have root with this guide but it won`t work to me.. I go to Google and XDA forums and found easy sollution for it.
1. Sideload 8.0 soak test.
2. Flash lastest TWRP. Boot to TWRP.
3. Flash Magisk 15.3 with TWRP
4. Flash this with TWRP
5. Flash this with TWRP
6. Go to the terminal in TWRP and run two commands:
Code:
- mm
- f
Reboot. Prifit.
After this you can go to Magisk manager and flash Xposed with it.
Can you make the tutorial for dummies (like me haha) to get root, Xposed and first of all to get unlocked bootloader in soak 8.0?
