APK1 Files for G930A - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Should have enough posts to include links now.
These are the stock files I purchased from a persian site for 12$ since nobody had them posted on the forums. Flashed with the latest unmodded Odin. I also had the benefit of suddenly getting data toggle with it after flashing the AP file. Not sure if everyone else will get it too.

It works. However, you REALLY need to run the V15 fix script.. The older builds ran like crap, even with the fix script, however with APK1, my phone runs normal and doesn't overheat. However, if you don't run that script with APK1, your phone will run sluggish and hot.

yeah i do aware abt bad lagging after rooted.. anyways my phone is on rooted with Fixes V15 and xposed install with XtouchWiz module so i can use tethering for my laptop/tablet while i am away from home. but no Toggle Data for me.. maybe bad luck but i did odin 4 files and factory reset..
Thanks for this files!

Is this the Stock AT&T PK1 that I have on my phone with the last OTA dated Nov. 1

I downloaded all these files, deleted .rar off the end so Odin would recognize the files (did i do that right?), plugged all 4 files in to the right spots and tried to flash them. I’ve used Odin plenty of times and haven’t had any problems before but I am far from an Odin master. This time I just get stuck at file analysis after i click the start button. Any idea what i could be doing wrong?

You need to decompress the RAR files first using something like 7-Zip (it will extract files with a tar.md5 extension). Those are the files you use in Odin.

[Q] MF3 suddenly cannot get into safestrap recovery.

Searched but and found similar posts but with different phones or different firmware, so the file references were of no help.
Basically I had safestrap working, had flashed google play edition ROM and it was working great with the exception of the play store not wanting to connect. I was in the process of messing with that and read (here) that I needed 4.3 edition of that app, I checked and I had 4.2, so I loaded 4.3 to the Sdcard and installed it..
Phone rebooted and just stays on the samsung custom splash screen indefinitely . I can get to ODIN on the phone, soI tried using https://builds.casual-dev.com/jodin3/ to get access and see what I could do, but it keeps telling me to unplug and plug in the phone, and gives an error that it cant mount the device.
So, im kinda stuck, I didn't use ODIN to do anything previously, But considering its the only thing I currently have access to, I guess its my only hope.
Been fighting this a few hours and getting pretty dejected, I had almost everything PERFECT.. and now back to WORSE than where I started.

The 4.3 edition of SS doesn't work on 4.2. Does it stay on the splash or does it go to the actual boot animation? Also, you don't need to boot into the phone to use odin, it's a PC program. You can google "mf3 tar files" and you'll find the thread with the ODIN files, use them to get back to stock.

It sits on the Samsung custom screen, that's it.
And how do I use the ODIN files.. When the ODIN program won't do anything except tell me over and over to in plug and plug in the phone?
How do I "use the Odin files" ??

Did you install the Samsung USB Drivers? Google that and install them, then plug in the phone and run the program.

I *think* I already have installed them but I'll double check just in case, I have android file transfer installed, it does the same, I'll try it under windows in instead of Mac as well.
Ok, ODIN sees the phone, under windows, Downloading a MF3 TAR file as seen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504311
(1.5gb?!) once thats done Ill see what we have![/QUOTE]
Well, im a little stuck
I downloaded a the MF3 TAR file from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2504311
Flashed the bootloader: BOOTLOADER_I337UCUAMF3_812098_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.mp5
That went through properly, the phone rebooted..

That went through as well, after reboot no change.
Tried flashing the phone file: PLATFORM_I337UCUAMF3_812098_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

You put platform tar in the PDA slot right? Also, you might have to restart between flashes or just load them in all at once.
There's a picture on this post with what options you should have: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46955352&postcount=7

Make sure the file you download was full and that it extracted the whole platform file. Other than that i'm not sure why it wouldn't work..

Ive downloaded it twice, Ive tried flashing it under windows 7 and OSX. Same result.
I would be happy to try a different platform file, but I cant find any others.
One oddity, the ONLY Odin program that can see the phone is Jodin3, the web based version.
Ive downloaded 1.85 and 3.07 (windows) have updated the samsung USB drivers, have updated the heimdall software... they cant see it.

Seems like it's not installing the drivers right. I'd try installing again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555 or just manually go into device manager and point it to where you installed the drivers. Also, you might have to wait a while on any version of ODIN (even the we version) for it to finish checking the file.
OHHHH ****!
You were right, it was the USB drivers, I had to do it via method 3, I.E. manually select them.. for some odd reason the installer DID install the drivers but the device showed up as someting totally different than when doing it manually.
flashing now... will see what happens:laugh:
ITS ALLLLIIIVVVEEEE!!!!!!!
Ok. so, now I cant start over lol!
Thanks for all your help, everyone!!

Stock Odin Flash Issue

Hey guys I am having an issue currently.
I am like 100% knowlegdable with Odin, and how to return a phone back to complete stock, but right now I am at a slump, and for the life of me can't figure out what the issue is.
Last night I went to flash via odin, and I made sure I have the correct files. In fact they were correct because I used them before. I for the pit file and put that in, and then I went to put the tar file into the ap slot, and it didnt show in the folder at all. I went back to the folder and it was there, but the phone for some reason odin doesnt reconize it anymore.
** Another question is I also have another laptop that I use ubuntu on. Can Odin be used on this to do a flash stock or not? Or is there another method? I just want to make sure that when it comes time to sell the phone that I can flash it back for the next person.
I just flashed last night with Odin and one thing I noticed was that the files usually have an extra .md5 or .zip at the end . Once I renamed file and just deleted the .zip and .md5 Odin then recognized the file. I am not sure if that could be the problem , but it was in my case. So my file ended in .tar

just tar and nothing else?
Well it was named n900vvrucn4.tar.zip.md5 or similar and I deleted the extra file extensions so it was just .tar at the end.

i need to check that because the one I downloaded looks like this:
n900wrunc4.n900wrunc4.n900wrunc4.tar.zip.md5
That's the same one I used . I just deleted the .zip, and .md5 and it flashed just fine. Mine was 2.34 g from grompy on android file host.

Why is 5.1.1 rom always "corrupt" ?

Hey guys, sorry I have been away for so long and am not updated... anyway, I have been downloading different 5.1.1 roms (samfirmware and sam updates) for my N910C and everytime I try to unzip, it says the file is corrupt...
Can anybody please tell me what has changed? Whay can't I unzip the downloaded files?
I only want the official rom, and am not rooting my phone for now.
Thanks

I recommend using Samfirm
thanks for the recommendation. My question has not been answered though, what has changed, and why do we need to use another tool now? Thanks
If you want to know the changelog for stock 5.1.1 then I strongly recommend you read it. Google is your best friend. What are you talking about another tool?
There is only one tool for Samsung to flash stock roms and it's called odin so nothing has changed there. If you are using kies to upgrade then expect the worst as the outcome seems like random events. 25% of the time kies ****s up.

I am not asking about changelog, I am asking why are the downloads from samfirmware and samsung-updates , when I try to unzip them are all corrupt.. then someone recommended the tool above to download the firmware... that is why I am asking what is changed, and why do I need a tool to download the firmware now??? Whay can't I just download straight from samfirmware and unzip the file like it was before?
BIG thanks
I had the same problem, the zip file corrupted while trying to unzip. But I just waited until WinRAR finish unzipped it. And successfully flashed the md5 with Odin.
I had the same problem with Winrar.
With 7zip no problem.
And I install the new Rom.
Everything is Ok.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
No problem with WinRar here. Check your Internet Connection: if it's unstable, the file will be downloaded and even MD5 hashes could match, but the file still will be corrupted and if you manage to unzip it it could lead to multiple errors in odin.
Thanks to those who tried to help... I donwloaded the new WinRAR and donloaded the 5.1.1 "SEE" and flashed it on my phone... worked perfectly and I have not wiped my phone after flashing, seems to be working great...

Soft bricked from failed ota update, odin failing me, any help for a noob?!?

Been having an issue with my ATT S7 when it goes to do some kind of OTA update and fails, then my apps start randomly crashing and of course I decide to reboot. When I reboot I get stuck on the white att screen. This is the second time is has happened, first time I just did a factory reset and was back up and running. Well today it went to do an update, update failed and I am back at a white screen again. I decided to start researching what the newest firmware was and can’t seem to get a straight answer. I also have no idea what bootloader I am on and so on…From what I can tell is PK1 is the newest firmware am I right?!? No idea where to check what bootloader I have…
So I decided I was going to just install everything from this thread in hopes to cure my issue https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/pk1-odin-files-t3522168
I downloaded all the files, deleted .rar off the end so Odin would recognize the files (did i do that right?), plugged all 4 files in to the right spots and tried to flash them. I’ve used Odin plenty of times and haven’t had any problems before but I am far from an Odin master. This time I just get stuck at file analysis. I’ve done the normal dumb stuff like latest drivers, get the same error on Odin 3.10.6 and 3.12, ran Odin as admin first then set phone to download and plugged it in. Odin is definitely recognizing my phone as it says added. Just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong and want to get this damn phone on the latest everything so it will quit downloading updates and taking a **** on me. Any help is much appreciated!
Sorry about this replied to wrong phone.

When i flashed the APK1 files it hung on file analysis for about a good 5 min. I was fixing to reset and try again and it finally got past that part. I'm not sure why it took so long. The APK1 files are the latest files for the G930A. It is bootloader 4. What version of odin are you using.

I've tried using odin 3.10.6 and 3.12.3...both always hang and i've waited way past 5 mins. I'll try again though and let it go for a long time, you do all 4 of them at a time right? Or do you do BL first, then AP and so on?

I thought you just extracted the zip files to a folder and used them then to put into Odin slots. After unzipping they are MD5 files. At least that is what mine say after unzipping. CORRECT????

I figured that was the case too but odin doesnt recognize .rar files. I looked at the files i downloaded and they were named '.tar.rar'. Odin recognizes .tar files so i figured id just delete the .rar and it would work but nope you have to open the rar files in WinRar or whatever program you like and extract the MD5 files. Then plug those MD5 files in odin and it will go through just fine. PK1 feels pretty sexy so far!

Stock bootoloader for Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V

Hi community
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V with Android 7.0. I tried to get root but first I had to unlock bootloader. I flashed the "Engineer Bootloader" (a file named Samsung_G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR) with Odin for engineering bootloader and no problem then the phone reboot. There comes the problem, the phone is on a bootloop, it shows the screen "Samsung Galaxy S7" and restart again, over and over.
People suggest to go to recovery mode and wipe data and factory reset, I already did that but it didn't work.
I'm sure that flash the complete ROM again will solve the problem but the ROM is 2.50 GB and my Internet connection is very very slow so I can't download it. Maybe flashing just the custom boot.img the problem gets solved, can somebody bring me just that file? Please I need it really much.
Thank you very much.
From the way the file name is written, it looks like the Marshmallow kernel, which is not the correct one for Nougat. Try flashing this in the AP slot in Odin. This is the correct root kernel for Nougat. The phone may bootloop a couple times after flashing this before completely booting.
Note: We are talking about engineering kernels, not bootloaders.
dude, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! you saved my life. I don't understand why people post tutorials with wrong files. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AGAIN.

Hi I was just experimenting with the Verizon Recovery Utility tools on windows 10 on the computer and noticed it was temporary copying ALL BL, AP, CSC ext. Well I selected it and copied in another folder before it could erase the files when done flashing my S7 verizon back to stock. It worked! I got all the files straight from Verizon's official tool. Since windows will throw a error message to anything trying to delete files in use, when verizon tool tried to erase the temp stock files, it denied it since the file was in use by me. Aka copying to another folder as the verizon tool downloaded the files I was right there copying the files mid download and the computer let the files finish download complete and it ended up being I got the files. Im proud of myself. Lol! Being new at this.
So someone just tell me what I do to get you all a copy. They are the most current stock files from verizon. I uploaded them all into Onedrive already so files are safe just waiting for the moment someone needs them and tells me how to upload them. I see androidhostfile or something site. Can I use that one? Even though Im new at this?
Here is my screen shot of my new files.
