No water damaged
I just changed the camera with a original brand new one.
When ready the screen didn't switch on any longer.
Touch screen and everything else seems to work. Just the screen
I would like to Factory Reset before flashing a stock rom, to see if it will fix the pixel.
Any idea how can I factory reset it when the screen is black dead?
No need to factory reset the phone before flashing a stock ROM with Odin.

I tried (and failed) to upgrade my ROM today for my ELF.
I took a backup of the ROM first just in case but I can't even get to apply the old ROM.
The screen displays a grey/white colour which can only be removed by taking out the battery. Pressing the on/off button does nothing, maybe a flicker sometimes of the grey screen. Soft reset turns the screen black while its pressed and goes straight to grey again when I release the button.
Trying the 4 methods of going into bootloader (all related to pressing the camera button) have no effect. As if the button is not pressed at all. So having a goldcard or sd card with rom won't work either.
Hard reset does nothing either. Still the grey screen.
As far as I know its not a clone as I was able to register it on the HTC site. I bought it off ebay 2nd hand. (Edit - Its not a clone. Read up and its definitely a HTC Phone)
Is there anything I can try to get this phone working again? Thanks
So as the title says i currently have MIUI 1.6.10 demonSPEED v1.1 ROM and it is not booting, just completely unresponsive to everything i could think of. Im just throwing this out there to see if this has happened to anyone before or if there is a way of fixing this issue. I don't believe it has anything to do with thederekjay's rom just some unfortunate event. Anyway i fear it is possibly bricked and that i am gonna have to shell out the $150 to get a new mt4g from the insurance. Details follow...
So have had this rom for about a week now and has been working great. However this morning i was on the browser reading the news and it became unresponsive. After i let its display turn off (i just left it alone) i used the track pad to wake it. It was slow but it did show me the lock screen. When i attempted to unlock with a swipe down i felt the vibrations but the slide lock didn't budge. I then tapped the power button to turn the display off and tapped the power button once again to turn it on but nothing, just stayed black. I tried a soft reset by removing the battery, placing it back in, and powering back up. When i did so the t-mobile mytouch 4g boot image w/ the white background came on then went to an android image (lighting up a through d, looping) but then it just remained at the android image for five minutes! So i tried a soft reset again but the same thing would happen, act like it was gonna boot up completely but then gets stuck at the android image. So then i tried removing the battery and booting into recovery (via power, vol down, trackpad) that time the t-mobile mytouch 4g image would appear but after that the screen went black and after that every attempt with either the soft reset or boot into recovery wouldn't do anything at all, just a black screen as if the battery wasn't in at all. Its been like that all day and i can't figure it out so if anyone knows some info i would greatly appreciate it thanx
My s4 is stuck in boot screen. Recovery doesn't work and i dunno why. Download mode works but I don't wanna format my phone(got some important apps in there). And it really heats up to the point there's moist on the camera lens(?)
What did you do?
I haven't really done anything. Just while charging I'd turned it off. Then turn it on to find out the it is stuck on boot screen. I will try flashing a stock firmware
I did now flash a stock firmware.. but still not working. at first boot some green dots covered up the screen. then it became white then i was forced to remove the battery. I think it has something to do with the heat that made the screen green-white

Seems a hardware problem.
Yeah. :/ i want to really know what causes the problem
Hi,
After Xmas I made factory reset with TWRP and I made an upgrade to CM13.(6.0)
It was working fine.
When I was trying to make next daily update, after reboot, screen became black and nothing shown up.
I was trying a lot of things since that moment.
When I was going back from service point (I really want to sort it out) when they told me it is probably LCD broken (i have broken glass, but 1 year ago, so I do not believe it can be screen),
when I take phone out I spotted that keys are highlighted so I swiped and it locked out and shown screen! it was working perferctly fine,
so I decided that it is best moment to flash newest CM to solve issues, but after reboot screen was black again.
I can enter download mode so it is visible in Odin, but screen is black in every mode.
There is only quick flash on screen when turning on and also really short moment of Samsung Galaxy logo which becoming dark quite quickly.
I flashed stock rom(5.0), but nothing changed, despite of that I know phone is turning on somehow because I hear music on turning on...
Can someone help?
I really doubt that it can be hardware issue.
Can it be something with BL ? How can I solve it...?
So i once took my phone to charge before going to bed and the next morning the screen was just black and the phone was "dead". The screen was black, nothing reacting. Rebooting was possible, but screen still black. I went through a whole night trying to figure out whats wrong and lastly i flashed the stock rom using the recovery tool and accidently ended up locking the bootloader with a non working screen.
Today the replacement screen arrived, i connected the new one, restarted the phone and still its just the screen lighting up a few seconds then turning off as soon as the redmi should appear. It does look like its not the screen but still something in the software. Is there anything i can still do to rescue the phone or is it just dead?
greetings

Try going into the stock recovery mode through hardware buttons (Hold Vol+ and Power) and try and factory reset.
