Yotaphone 2 reboots unwanted when switched off and USB cable connected - YotaPhone

Got a Yotaphone 2 (YD206) recently, flashed und updated it to YD201, Android 5.0, firmware EU1.1.124b.
Now, when I shut it down with no USB cable attached it shuts off as expected.
BUT:
a) As soon as I connect to USB (charger or PC) it would re-start immediately.
b) When I shut it down while the phone still is connected to PC or charger it would turn off and then on again immediately.
This is annoying as it means it will be on all the time also when I won't use it but just keep it on charge.
Any advise? Any app which would prevent this?

It is normal. It is impossible to charge when is power off. I.e. when you connect to charge Yotaphone power on immediately.

Hm, not for me. I would like to charge while device is switched off.
I intend not use it as a phone but as a navigation computer in a sailplane. And I would not want it drain the onboard battery unintentionally.

[Q] Note 3 Charging only when turned off

Hello, i'am from france and i have a Samsung Galaxy Note SM-N9005.
When i try to plug the charger in phone ( Turned On), it doesnt recognize it. I tried to use it's USB 3.0 cable ( from the box) , doesnt work.
then i tried another samsung charger micro usb one, doesn't work. Then i tried to plug it in my pc, the pc doesn't recognize it.
The only way to charge it, is to turn it off... but it still have a strange way to charge.
When i plug the charger,it vibrate and then show me the grey battery, then the green one ( Normal way to show that's its charging).
After around 10 sec, it vibrate again ( like if i unplugged it) and it comes back to the grey battery, then green.... over and over...
It does this but it still charge my phone, and that's the only way i found to charge it.i dont know why it is charging when it is turned off and not when it is turned on?
Thanks in advance for your help

i have the exact same problem!!! It just started yesterday.
Do you use the original charger?
If you use a other charger with less power, the phone will not charge!
You need a 2Ah Charger.

Yes i understand, but i use the one that came with the telephone. Its the original samsung USB Cable 3.0 + the Charger.
I tried with the Charger from a Galaxy Note 2 ( usb 2.0) it still doesnt work.
It's a hardware problem.

As said is hardware issue. If your Note 3 is under warranty use it, because they will fix it. If not, go to a phone repair center and they should be able to fix it as well.
It might be the microusb from the phone, a friend of mine had something similar with his s2.Good luck!

Okey :crying:, i have to save everything on my phone before sending it back, otherwise i will lose all my data.
What is the best way to save everything on my phone ? ( I can't use my usb if my phone is turned on)
It would be nice if someone know how to do it. Thanks :fingers-crossed:

Back up your data with your backup app of choice (Helium, Titanium Backup). Throw your backup file into dropbox.
Your photos should be backed up in drop box so don't bother.
Contacts are in your Google account don't bother with that either.
So I think it's just Music and movies if you're not using Play Music.
I would use sd card for back up, that's one of the reasons it's there. I backed up contacts on my old phone to Google and then for some reason couldn't recover it on new phone, maybe I did something wrong, but had no problem loading them them up from sd card. If you really hate to send it back (I would) you could open the back (search youtube, there are few videos how to), I think it's 8 screws and check if the charging board connector is loose. I wouldn't go much past that and would make sure there are no temper proof seals to disturb.
Hello how you solved this problem? I discover exact the same problem with charging on my n9005 today.
Pretty sure this is related to the software on this, not the hardware, unless they are all broken. I have recently sent mine in for the same reason, got new note 3 had it for a week now. But before sending it in i got a new battery, new cables, nfc charger and a cradle, to rule out all the chargers as a possibility. After getting the new one it worked fine until I updated after all updates came down now it wont charge again. I found that If I remove the battery and put it back in it will start charging from time to time but currently its off and charging sort of, Keeps starting to charge for about 5 min and then stops for about 10, and keeps this cycle. If anyone else has a new one and still getting this after Updates please let me know.

Problem fixed!
I had the same EXACT problem for a couple weeks. It clearly isn't a hardware issue if the battery actually is charging when off (FYI to anyone who needs a refresher on how technology works). Clearing the system cache took 30 seconds and worked! Here is how to do it:
Turn off the Galaxy Note 3.
Press and hold Volume UP + Home + Power buttons.
When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
In the recovery menu, navigate to ‘’wipe cache partition’’ with the volume buttons.
Press power button to confirm.
Once this is done, select reboot system now.
Requesting your help!!!! pls... Super urgent

So after a lot of reading online and understanding logically that if the hardware is screwed then the phone will not charge in the first place, I followed your steps and wiped my cache. I was literally keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the end of my long haul with this problem. However, the phone did not start charging after that and the problem still persists. I strongly believe that this is a software related problem as the phone functions fine and the battery life is also as it was before. Given this, I kindly request you to tell me if there are any other solutions or ways through which I can fix this issue? Your response is most appreciated and urgent.. HELP!!

Ok, wiping the system cache worked for about 2 hours. I was a little too excited. I just replaced the charging port and so far, so good. Make sure to buy the proper charging port; each one is different per carrier (e.g., mine is a SM-N900V for Verizon, SM-N900T for T-Mobile, etc.). The charge port was $11. You can find all carriers, except Verizon, on Amazon. I googled Note 3 replacement parts and picked the most legit looking website to order mine. Good luck.
did any one found out any solution for this
i am getting same grey battery sign over and over again when plugged into charger (Wall/USB 2.0/3.0) and its not starting with battery power, last time battery was charged to 86%

[help] nexus in car, auto power on?

hello guys
i got my nexus 7 today to mount a card dash system. i have no problem with the power source because i have usb in the glove box. my question is, is there anyway i can make the enxus turn one when i turn on the car?
the tablet will be all the time conected to the usb cable, so, my idea is when i turn on the car/power, the tablet will power on instead of going only to the charging screen...
thanks in advance
If it is off, that is - powerd down-, it will not switch on. On standby, you can use 'tasker' app to switch the screen on, or start car-mode or any other app or function. Also you can try the docking - function in the day-dream settings. When worried about battery life, 'tasker' can switch connection off, set screen - timeout and kill running apps when power is switched off.

I am pretty sure the tablet will wake automatically every time power is introduced or removed when in sleep mode. (by default)
This is how i currently have mine setup to do. i use a push button toggle switch to wake the tablet.

I have just recently bought tasker and am trying to figure it out for my needs.

[Q] Meizu mx5 new wont charge and startup

Hello dear Forum members,
ive brought a new geniue Mx5 phone.
the phone worked perfectly for a couple of days.
yesterday i forgot to charge it and it completly drained its battery.
in the morning i connected the phone with its original charger and cable and nothing happens.
the phone wont charge and wont start, i've tried different chargers and cables and even connecting it to my comp via USB and still nothing happens..
theres only a led notification light blinking, the phone and the charger are COLD even after a couple of hours connected to the charger..
i also tried to remove the simcard and enter the recovory mode ( tired pushing the volume buttons [+ and -] with the power button, and all the possible combinations and yet nothing...)
i didnt drop the phone and didnt put it under extreme wheater....
what can i do ?
i'd be very thankful to have your advice and ideas
yours,
Elitemagix
Hello!
Have you tried to let the phone charging some hours? When the battery is fully drained you need to do this
Enviado desde mi MX5 mediante Tapatalk
hey iicc thank you for the reply,
after i read your comment i charged the phone for the whole night, and still in the morning nothing happened the notification light is still blinking and the phone is cold
any other ideas???
Ive had the exact same problem, just ordered the phone came today... let it die then charged and now its not charging! I don't know what to do! Did you find a solution?
Hi, I've the same problem with a Meizu MX3. Have you found any solution?
Hold power till stops blinking, should just boot after that.
hi i have this problem too has anyone fixed it ?
I had and have the same issue with my Meizu MX4, with the Ubuntu Touch (OTA-14) OS.
I have changed battery and connector and the problem still remains.
Taking out the battery and charging it externally works, but charging it through the connector and micro-USB plug does not work.
As I suppose other people higher up in this thread have Flyme as OS, it seems to be a motherboard issue to me.
Any solutions found meanwhile?
Since I don't have the necessary equipment at home to perform the external charging, and I have so far relied two times on a repair shop to do so, I would also be interested to get references of universal or Meizu specific external charging equipment.
Thanks.
I had the same problem with my meizu m5c
Idont know if it will work on your meizu models bu i fixed my by just pressing the volume up and power button then it showed “battery lower than 25%,update available” then i pressed restart and placed it on my charger and it was fixed

Phone won't charge if it's turned off

Hi, I've installed stock debloated rom by battlehero (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3216390) and I have a problem with the battery. Developer says it's not rom related but I can't figure it out.
The phone won't charge if it's turned off. If I plug it the battery icon with the lightning in it appears, with a yellow sentence on top of the screen saying something about the kernel, but that's it. The phone doesn't charge and it's stuck there, even if I unplug it. The only way to turn it on is by manually removing the battery. Can someone help me?

Nexus 10 does not turn on or charge

hi folks! Lovely Nexus 10 Found Almost Dead. Please Help
Have an Nexus 10 well used for several years. Love it so much.
Firstly it stopped (or very slow charge and very sensitive to the charging cable) charging.
The power button looks weak, like pushed into the body. And does not click.
I bought a new replacement battery, install , everything was the same.
Symptoms: When plug in the wall charger the short vibration start, then battery sign appear on the screen, then changes to Charging Battery (moving indicator), then in minute or so screen back to black and nothing happens.
Does not react on any single or multi buttons press.
What can be a problem?
USB port, Power button or something else?
Thanks in advance.
