After rooting my s7 edge apps started crashing (now that I think of it, I think supersu got automatically updated by the play store messing things up) so I restarted my phone. It kept getting stuck on the logo so I tried wiping everything. That didn't work so I tried booting into safe mode and after a bit of messing around the phone actually booted up normally. Then like four to three weeks later to today apps start crashing again. So then I tried flashing the stock with odin 3.12.3 and odin 3.10.6 but they both gave me errors and now i can't even boot into the at&t logo to go into safe mode. I think my phone still has the custom ENG boot from rooting it but I can still go into recovery and download mode.
I got my stock firmware from This thread
I also got Odin 3.12.3 from here if you guys need that.
I have tried a lot of things already and may have completely screwed my phone up but any help is very much appreciated

It's been awhile since I changed anything on this phone, I've been running CM11 with no issues. The wife was playing with my phone which is on cm12 and wanted me to upgrade it. Great, I hate having to touch her phone but ok.
1. Did a straight upgrade to CM12 nightly (couple nights ago build) with gapps from CM site. After the install everything crashes on the initial load, it's like the baseband is jacked and doesn't know how to handle the new google play services because everything crashes.
2. Went back and wiped internal everything this time, re installed nightly and gapps. No change.
3. Tried step 2 a couple more times and different gapps from PA and other random sites (micro, light, stock versions) and then TWRP just died on me. It's asking for a password when I first go in so now I'm stuck there. Tried to use ODIN to install the latest TWRP after converting it with another script found here (i'll find the link).
so, I'm probably going to have to use ODIN to restore some stock version of S4 ATT but I really don't know which one is stock that would work with CM12. I don't want to get caught in the safestrap crap of dual boot and whatever else. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You'll need to Odin the mdl firmware in Odin. Be careful as it will want to update itself after you flash it. See sammobile.com for the firmware.

Awesome, thanks!
Flashed the stock, towelroot, twrp from google play and cm12 nightly. Perfect and back where I left off. Thanks!!
Ok.. I did a bad thing I guess. after working for a couple weeks I tried to reset the phone while cm12.1 was installed. All it did was keep restarting TWRP and was stuck there. So I figured there was an issue with the twrp install or something whatever, I went to flash back to stock mdl in odin. Instead of selecting PDA I selected Phone and it failed on the first attempt. Then I selected PDA and it installed correctly (Said passed). Now I'm stuck on the AT&T logo on boot. I tried to reinstall the stock rom again and the same results. Where do I go from here??!?

Boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Ok, factory reset worked on the second try. Sent it in to a boot loop on the first go around, odd. Thanks!
tl;dr phone is in some kind of bootloop, tried flashing stock firmware (successful but can't get past start splash screen), plz halp me
So I was just simply browsing on my phone on reddit is fun app, some Google Chrome sites, and 9gag. So then I saved a gif on 9gag and the phone just gives up on me. It went straight to shut down without any warning whatsoever and proceeded to restart. Thinking that it was just an unusual one time thing, the phone kept rebooting and I started really getting worried. I kept getting the Samsung Galaxy S4 splash screen and after that a black screen and then it vibrated twice and I saw the splash screen again. Didn't even get to see the menu for SafeStrap. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally accessed SafeStrap after restarting the phone from download mode pressing the volume down button. To make as much precious time as I had, I made a backup (although I checked enable compression which I shouldn't have but I didn't have a lot of space on my SD card) and made an advanced wipe cleaning everything except the SD card. I then proceeded to flash a different custom ROM (GoldenEye if you were wondering) and hoped that it was just a custom ROM error that kept giving bootloops. No such luck. The different ROM didn't even help. So I went back to SafeStrap and made another advanced wipe. At this point, I decided to flash stock firmware via Odin from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642) with NB1 base. I remember having flashed the non-rootable version successfully and restarted the phone after that. Got past the Samsung Galaxy S4 splash screen and went all the way to ATT splash screen but then it crashed right there. After that, I couldn't figure out the problem and I couldn't flash any more stock firmware (at least from that link) via Odin because I kept getting a fail notice. I asked this question on reddit and the responses kept saying that I may have a defective power button but it doesn't stay shut down and instead bootloops. Should I try to find a new GS4, get another phone or try sammobile firmwares next to see if there's any luck? I really need to save this phone as it is super dear to me. I'm at the point where I can cry right now :crying:
If you guys need any pictures or videos, I will be more willing to do so

I'd say try redownloading the firmware and make sure your cable is good, try a back USB port, etc. I'd guess the firmware files didn't download properly and so it didn't flash properly. Before you do anything though, try going into stock recovery and wiping everything you can from there.

Thank you for the reply. As for the firmware, where should I acquire them? The link I posted has only one firmware (NB1) and I cannot access stock recovery AT ALL. When I do, I can see the blue text in the corner "Recovery booting..." and then the phone restarts again. This is really frustrating

NB1 is the only one you can get, just try downloading either one again.

When you plug in the phone in Download Mode, does the blue box in Odin light up? If not, reinstall samsung drivers
Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
I recently rooted my S7 Edge using Odin and it worked for about a day. It was slower than my stock Android and I was tinkering with it, but it eventually froze and when it rebooted it booted into Recovery Boot. Every time it reboots it tries to install a System Update which I presume fails and goes back into the recovery boot. I tried running the graphical test but it just says error and tries to install an update and the cycle repeats. I have ultimately decided I just need to reinstall the stock firmware, and have wiped the Cache and Data using the recovery boot options. However, when I plug it into my laptop it does not recognize my phone at all now. This causes quite the issue as I can't flash anything if it doesn't recognize my phone. I need help as to how I make it recognize my phone again and any other steps I might be missing to reinstall stock firmware.
Just odin Full stock Sprint firmware... I had that happen once, and it took care of it.. I'm re-rooted for about a month and it works flawless.
Hi Everyone
So i have had my s7 edge ages now had a few roms on it such as helios rom, batman rom and superman rom never had any issues about a month ago it froze when i was using it and when it rebooted it just froze on the Samsung logo.
I messed about with it for a day or 2 and managed to get it to boot in the end by formating the data through TWRP and then i used Odin to flash the stock firmware, then i put TWRP back on and was enjoying the use of custom roms again.
Yesterday my phone froze again when i was using it and then froze when it was rebooting and i have been doing different things since to try and get it going again i have tried using Odin to flash the stock rom i have tried putting TWRP back on and flashing different custom roms i have tried formatting the data again, And now with stock firmware on it after freezing at different points during the boot process for half an hour and rebooting its just got to the start screen :/
Sound like a hardware problem

I managed to get to the home secreen and start the first stock update but its so strange the update installs it freezes on boot and reboots like 50 times and finally comes back on then does the same with the next update.
Im currently still in a boot loop after installing stock update 2 so that sucks lol
So after several days of flashing stock fimwares etc I managed to find what was meant to be the official 7.0 firmware for the g935f so I installed that with odin and it booted fine now I have put TWRP and Helios Rom back on it and it seems fine
I am so confused lol
Thanks in advance for any who can offer help, and I'm sorry if I missed something obvious.
I did a stupid thing and started playing with Odin, attempting to switch from Unlocked firmware on my 950U1 to T-Mobile firmware, in an effort to get RCS support. Before flashing I was running the latest available snapdragon pie beta.
At this point I have flashed all sorts of things in an attempt to restore my device, but I am fairly sure that I flashed a Factory Binary for my device that for some unknown reason would no properly boot and would then crash, rebooting into a kernel panic screen. I decided to abandon my project and flash back to stock and now my S8 will not completely boot. It will go through the Galaxy S8 splash screen, through the animated Samsung screen, then into a Starting Android screen were it will almost immediately freeze the animation and reboot.
I can't remember how exactly I got here but what I thought was that flashing stock firmware via odin succesfully should result in a complete restore. I have always chosen the CSC file as opposed to the HOME_CSC file in order to make sure that data is wiped. I have wiped the cache and data via recovery which resulted in no change.
Any thoughts on how to recover this device? I'm at wit's end with it after several hours of trying everything that google brings up so far as I can figure.

Flash stock firmware with nand erase all
Tried flashing stock firmware with Nand Erase checked, no change.
