How do I test this SD - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Bought this SD card for this phone:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung...ard-white-black-white/4713100.p?skuId=4713100
Wondering how to go about testing read write speeds to make sure it's not defective. Do I test on this phone or use a pc? Should I be seeing around 100mb/s rw?

Using SD insight, it shows size and manufacturer but 00000 for model number. Fake?
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

You should be seeing around 95mb/s read speeds and 90mb/s write speeds. And if you really bought it from BestBuy, it's not fake.
If you wanna test the speed use the app "A1 SD bench". Find it here.

SD Card Read Speed

Running AnTutu benchmark and comparing to others my read speed for sd card is 21mbps.
The others are all easily 100mbps+.
Does anyone know if this is the external or internal sd speed?
I'm just using the 32gb card that was in my Dell Streak.

It should be the internal sd, I haven't put one in my SGS2 yet, got read write speeds of 440/14 MB/s
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Got 80 read speed without sd card. Nowhere near the 400s!
Still getting consistently low quadrants 2800 ish when the norm is 3500.
I wonder if I have inferior internal sd or just a duff unit?

[Q] The Best SD Card for X8?

Anyone?
Any card from a known brand bought in a retail store (to decrease chances of getting a fake one) is good.. Class 4 and above is fine..
But if you want THE BEST, take a look at the samsung plus extreme speed, they are quite nice.

i bought a 16gb class6 sd card samsung and is very fast: 13mb/s write speed

Sorry for this, but what is Samsung Extreme Speed?
Edit: Yes, it's so good. Thanks. BTW, where's the Thanks button?

Galaxy S4 killed my 16GB Kingston microSD

Ok so I turned on my p hone the other day and it says "SD Card damaged, please reformat". I ejected it and put it back in, and now the phone acts like there isnt an SD in the slot. Wtf. Anyone know why Samsung phones destroy SD Cards? And could anyone recommend a card it wont destroy? Ive heard good things about the 64 gig Samsung card but idk..

Can you read it on your computer/laptop?
I would try reformatting on the phone after dumping any data to your pc.

agreed
Did you get this card on eBay? Or from a reputable store? As others said - make sure you try the SD card in a computer or elsewhere.
I believe this is just a fluke issue. I had the same problem. I shut phone completely off for 5 minutes turned it back on and everything was fine with me. So before you go panicking try shutting phone off then back on.

I also have had this happen with two separate cards. The last time it happened the data was a complete loss. Unreliable if you ask me.

16gig any brand should not be having issues at all, format fat32, and it will work, now 64 on the other hand, s4 and 64g have serious issues playing together.
I have an 8 gig and 16 gig card that I have used for YEARS and my S4 runs them just fine. I don't really think it's the phone.
I've had this issue a few times on my SanDisk 64GB. I panic at first, then just reboot and wait and it comes back fine... No data loss (yet) but I have everything backed up anyway..
only one thing to do, kill the S4...

I have never ever had any issues with the micro sd card on any of the Galaxy's phone. It might be a bad card. It's not your phone that killed the Kingston micro sd card. If your phone was a killer, it would have killed internal sd first before even killing this innocent 16 GB Kingston micro sd card.

OP I TOTALLY feel your pain! I've killed 2 64GB SD cards with my S4 since it was new. They were both sandisk ultra class 10 cards. I finally got a Samsung brand, and haven't had one single issue! It even runs faster than the sandisk ones.
Kingston SD cards .... the *** NEW Kingston SD *** cards are now working with Samsung devices.
My first Kingston 64 GB SD card stopped working months ago and asked Kingston for a RMA and they sent my new card. Now this new card has stopped working as well ... i asked Kingston what the problem was and they mentioned the the last batches of 64 GB SD cards were not compatible with Samsung Phones. I have two (2) Kingston 64 GB SD cards. Check the numbers on your Kingston SD cards NOW...
the two cards i have now are being returned via RMA and the numbers i have are

I also use a SanDisk Ultra 64gb but had mixed results.
The card usually performs great (half-full) but I have seen 2 types of issues, probably tied to the water-damage on my S4 and now trying to see how it lives on a Note 3 (which has the infamous boot-loop issue, apparently solvable by triggering a reboot through recovery).
My old device randomly ejects the card (especially during intensive access, like Spotify reading cache) and can also popup a write error message when copying files through Solid Explorer : when this happens the data will be lost and on reboot the card reverts to it's last state.
If, after a few weeks, it still works fine on the Note 3, I will try to update this feedback with results.

I received my card and did few videos, both 1080p and 4k. Zero issues so far. Will do some more action shots when I have a chance.

How much space does it take a 5min 4K video on the sd card?

My Galaxy S4 burns SD Cards

Hello
My Galaxy S4 burned 2 SD Cards( I was rooted with custom roms, but no custom kernel or sd mods) so I got mad, installed the stock rom with no root.Just bought a SanDisk Ultra 32GB, to make sure that the problem is not from SD. This SD card is not burned yet, but my friend told me to install just to check the speed of the SD card, the SD Tools app or something like that. I got extremely big write and read speed, and I think that my phone has a motherboard problem. I still have warranty. But do you think is because of the big scores, I mean with the same SD card, on my tabled I got 47MB\s Write and like 50MB\s read, or something like that. This is the screenshot with my result on S4. Any advice? Should I sent my phone to warranty? Thanks!
Which model card is to achieve such results?

It is SanDisk ultra, but this are bad results, because the score should have been 12x lower, so my SD card will burn 12x faster... Already killed 2 sd cards with this phone

No, that is the speed of the internal sd card

Ah, thanks. I thought that this is the reason why my sd burns. Found a way to switch to sd in advanced mode (mnt/extSdCard/)

My GT-I9505 have just burned the third 32GB SD Card. The last one was a Sandisk Ultra Class 10. One of the other 2 was a Kingston 32GB Class 4.
Seems like S4 is a bonfire?
