Please Give THANKS!

Everyone, go, do as you're told, donate if you can, and at the very least "thank" the devs of our Atrix. With the leak from the mighty epinter we have been given a new lease on life!
Thanks given, even though it's a bit too late for me. :good:
Nice to see development on the Atrix 4G will continue, still hope moto and nvidia will do the right thing and release the source though.

[Q] Plans OmniRom for Android L

Hi OmniRom Devs,
I just want to ask, how the plans look like to offer the great OmniRom for the coming Android L Release?
Do you have already a timeline etc.?
Thanks and kind regards,
Chris

Initial release on Bloomsday 2015, final stable release Dismember 2016.
Pray tell me, how dafuq do you expect anyone to give you any information on the timeline when nobody has seen the L sauce code, mainly because it hasn't been yet released?
You think that Omni team is clairvoyant or something?
God must love intellectually challenged people, he created so many of them.

Thanks for the friendly answer.
As I'm not a developer and have no glue how it works with android but I like OmniRom very much, I asked myself what's the strategy of this rom.
I don't want to be a stupid user - I want to understand also the backgrounds.

Also, this question has been answered before.
And as you hinted, "we won't have the slightest clue until AOSP source drops, and we have no idea when that will happen"
Absolute earliest for more news is November 3 - but sometimes AOSP source can take 1-2 weeks or more after the first OTAs start rolling out.
We won't have any clue how much work is going to be needed until the source drops. But I expect that this integration cycle is going to be a ***** - LOTS is changing. We'll pretty much have to redo UI/UX stuff for example. Kinda reminds me of when ICS first dropped.

[Unofficial]Sailfish Development Announcement

I think I'm going to uptake this as my first project. I'm just curious if anyone else is interested in it. Here's the disclaimer:
I'm an amateur. I will make stupid mistakes. Do not expect a stable port. I'm here to learn. That said, I know very little, however do know where to start
I plan to port the ROM from the Oneplus One and use MAs CM 12.1 as a base. This will be a long project. I'm a student and maybe have a few hours a weekend to work on this.
That said, I'm going to get to work.
B.O.L buddy... .. It's every developers 1st step..and u have taken dat next step..
We are longing to see your work
So as it turns out I was able to find a user who has a few things on GitHub. I may be able to get a build up in a couple weeks. Don't hold me to that though.
Good luck mate! Hope to see your work soon, and also I hope this can be useful for you
@RJDTWO if you need any help go to irc freenode and check with #sailfishos-porters most of the time there is somebody to help. And as I said there are a few sailfish related repos on my github. https://github.com/taaem/. Maybe even I can help out or at least point you to the right resources. First of all check the HADK https://sailfishos.org/develop/hadk/
Good Luck!!
Yessssssss best of luck mate hope to see sailfish soon
cool! I always wanted to try sailfish os!! keep us updated, please^^

COS 13 On TWRP! (cm-13.0-ZNH0EAS2JK)

This is just a regurgitation of a previous post by @Spannaa I apologize for being misinformed, but I hope it benefits anyone out there
Hello!
So I've been running SultanXDA's CM13 mod for quite a while now (4+ months), and I've found it to be very satisfying. Super stable, smooth, the underclock was a good idea too, but I've found that I'm getting less than four hours of SOT, and as my work days become longer due to BST (British Summer Time), I need my battery to last much longer. No disrespect to @Sultanxda though
Now, with the release of COS 13, I've really been debating whether to flash it or not, since I would have to go back to 100% stock, and start from scratch again, which is a little scary seeing as I would loose my TWRP nandroid backups.
But NOW
I have found a forum on the Oneplus Forums which has every single update to come out of Cyanogenmod and Oneplus, including:
Signed fastboot zips
Signed flashable zips
Boot-debuggable images
OTA incremental update zips
And yes, COS13-ZNH0EAS2JK
I have left the link below to the entire list, and you can use to your heart's content!

You should have checked if @Spannaa has a thread here before duplicating his content with your post. Seems you're still misinformed because you're careless

I don't see it as duplicated content - the OP just found my threads useful, promoted them and tagged me :good:
It didn't need a new thread though
So does official COS13 really have better battery life than Sultan's CM13?

Battery life depends on your usage.
A rom that has great battery life for one person may not have for another - there are so many variables involved.
There's only one way to find out which is better for you....

Never in my entire time working with the opo have I met a user so hostile. I made a mistake, tagged the correct developer, and tried to make amends. I guess even the nicest places have problems. Learn something new every day.

Wasn't trying to be hostile. Telling the truth nowadays is being rude. What else should I call it if not careless, for you to make a thread without looking in that same section if the user who helped you made a similar thread? There are way meaner words I could have used but you got the point. Look before you leap my friend

Really!? Because it boots on another Xiaomi device you decide to post it here...!?
The XDA Mi Max 3 forum gets worst and worst every day... It's neck to neck with Xiaomi official forum already... What a shame...

I think such reply is uncalled for @nijel8. However true your reply may appear to you, It neither inspire people here to do better nor yield better understanding.
I would suggest that you start your own thread and exemplify what XDA should be. If people here find your way to be better, then hopefully they will follow suit.

Have you red the flashing instructions? Ridiculous... I can't waste 1GB of my mobile data to take a look but I am pretty sure this is a TWRP backup from mido device and the fact that it boots straight to fastboot after restore it even includes mido boot partition with mido kernel!!! Now tell me how ridiculous this thread is... Oh, and this is not the first time this OP posts guides and stuff of this nature...
Users comes to XDA for help from knowledgeable people and they trust the information they read here. When misinformation, misguides and alike from people who don't have basic knowledge about Android development and how things works in general then how are we better from anything else out there...
We used to have those people who misrepresented themselves as advanced users throwing "advices" and roms and stuff from all over the Internet back in the Max 1 days but they disappeared very fast after publicly exposed from guys who knows better. I hate it when people gets advantage of the poor user!
BTW not to give any hopes but you will see soon what XDA is really about... Like this weekend soon(I hope...)

I agree that misinformation and misguides are not really helping, and may even cause confusion to most people. However, the OP was actually honest with his observation and goal for this thread. And isn't that part of learning experience?
Anyways, I'm hopeful that you'll also be able to come up with a reliable custom rom just like on mi max. Till then, I believe encouraging others to experiment will yield better results in the long run, not just for the community but for the person him/herself.
