Removing "Swipe Screen to Unlock" Message? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, is there a simple or straightforward way to just remove the message on the lock screen that says "swipe screen to unlock"? Is it possible without rooting? If not, is it possible without changing to a different ROM? Thanks!
I mean, it's been a decade of constant new smartphones without changing that feature now, I think most people don't need the instruction to unlock their phone anymore...

Yes, if you use Good Lock. Go to Lock Screen -> Display Guide Text and turn it off.

Possible to remove the "Lock Keyboard"

Hello Guys..
I was wondering if it is possible to remove the "unlock keyboard" screen? Because when you also use the lock pattern, u have to unlock 2 times - that sux... Much better just to remove the standard lock and only use the pattern?

ZOMG. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
I'm going to contact the developer and find out if I can get the code to the lockscreen disable portion of the app. Would love to see if I (or someone with actual Android programming experience) could tweak that into something that disables the swipe lock but can keep the pattern lock enabled.
-edit-
Email sent, though BIP's developer is out of town this weekend. If anyone knows of any other apps that accomplish this, I'd be interested to know.
lock 2.0 disables it, as well as the app "no-lock".
problem is, even with the new version of battery indicator, every app ive tried the stock slider still manages to come back someway somehow , battery indicator seems to be the best solution so far, and im wondering if its lock 2.0 that somehow brings back the stock slider.

Hey have you ever been able to receive a response from the dev?
If you are seeking a "new" lock screen, or the "no slider" look.
I highly recommend Widget Locker.
It has a root bypass of the lock screen "5 second rule" which starts up the "old" lock screen.
I bought the app, used the root bypass option, and i havent seen my old lock screen yet.
They even have a keypress unlock, if you want a very simple lock screen, and you can hold your back button down for .5-2sec or so to unlock.
Though, I dont use the pattern lock, so i have no idea if it works in combination with this or not?
Edit: Disregard, I didn't realize the age of this thread D:
Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread. Funny thing is that I actually did start using WidgetLocker and I DO sometimes get the stock lock screen before it starts, so I was looking for a way to completely disable the stock lock. There are some apps out there that remove the stock lock but it causes every hardware button to wake the device up, which is no good. (This includes battery indicator as I just found out)
Yea, thats no good, it kinda defeats the purpose of having some sort of alternative lock screen when it wakes up on key press like that
I'm not sure why, but i have never got the lock screen to pop up again, unless i kill widgetlocker myself.
Well, if you indeed find out how to get rid of that lockscreen, i would love to know, it would be nice to not have a app constantly running pretending to be an alternate lockscreen, you know?
I am using the Extended Controls app from the market.
With it you can enable & disable just about everything the X10 uses (including the lock screen).

Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but maybe try the No Lock app from the market...
hmm let me explain this I get the standard lockscreen display before I can unlock the phone, so it goes:
On/Off Button -> Lock Screen -> unlock pattern
i want it to go On/Off Button -> Unlock Pattern
is that possible?

Did you try the app I suggested? I think it does exactly what you are looking for...
There are also other apps on the market that disable the keyguard.
yes i did but it remove all unlocking...even the unlock pattern...i just want to remove the sense lockscreen not unlock pattern

Ah sorry, I forgot it did that (I use WidgetLocker now to actually replace the lockscreen). I also don't run Sense, so there's normally no lockscreen anyway when pattern lock in enabled.
Looked online and seems like it is a common complaint among Sense users. No good solutions appear to exist from just my quick searches (short of switching to a different). Maybe someone else will have some ideas...
k thx for ur answer i hope someone have a solution

Lockscreen N00bish Question?

Hi,
Just wondered, is there a way to have a pin on the galaxy s, but also still get the lock screen before the pin screen appears.
At the moment i found a nice lockscreen, had it all set how i like it, but then when i set a pin code i only get a pin screen when i unlock the phone.
I hope you follow what im asking?
Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Could you be litle more detailed with your question????
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Go to:
Settings > Location and Security > Change Screen Lock
I hope it´s this.

I know that! But i dont want to go back to Miui. I find stock ROM with a good kernel responds and works better with better battery life IMO.
My question is this:
Set lock screen works great
Then set PIN and you ONLY get a PIN screen and NO LOCK SCREEN at all.
I hope that makes sense?
No one at all?
I use Locale with Password lock plugin they just working as you need, only password/pin requested, no screen unlock action required.
Ops, sorry, I was wrong. It also needs a screen unlock before the password/pin.

Any way to keep fingerprints without Lockscreen?

I'd like to keep fingerprints to use with App Lock and such but without using the lockscreen. Any way to keep them?
I also want this, so it works like a password for apps
but I don't like to unlock my phone at all, just swipe on the lockscreen
I searched a lot, found another thread someone wanted this too
but nobody understood him, they thought he wants only Fingerprint without pin?
but why is it not possible to use Fingerprint (and backup pin or password) ONLY for applock, and not on the lockscreen

In addition to the FP, use on body detection and face unlock.
That should reduce if not eliminate the need to unlock the phone manually.

But then I can't swipe on the lockscreen, there's no lock at all, so if I was previously in whatsapp I would be instantly online, instead of just reading messages on the lockscreen

Try using the app No Lock :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock&hl=en_US
I don't use the FPR,or,any lockscreen for that matter,so,IDK if this will work.
I used it on other phones where you had to use at minimum a swipe to open & it bypassed that requirement, perhaps it'll do the same in this situation.

It was only a suggestion.
I don't mind a lock screen on my phone.
I want my phone to lock.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it, but still have to swipe to get in. I'm not sure of other OS' but TouchWiz allowed for it. I'll write OnePlus Dev's to hopefully include it on an update. Also, native rear flash notification since we don't have a led for it.
