Answer:
It is not possible. Because according to a statement of support Asus is necessary processor purchased with support functions that you want to run. Additionally, it is no longer possible.
Thanks Asus! :crying:
Z.
Sure? Because I read the ze520kl Snapdragon processor is supported.

Did you read what I wrote? Asus did not pay for this function. Therefore, it is locked permanently.
Z.
Yes, I understand but since the processor is supported perhaps by changing rom you can enable
Currently only two smartphone are enabled
BQ Aquaris X5 Plus and Huawei Mate 9
But the ze520kl chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625

Yes, the processor supports it but also supports additional features such as Quick Charge, NFC, etc... this also can not be subsequently put into operation.
I give only information obtained from Asus services. I'm glad to be wrong.

RE: Touch Pro 2 Overclock
Last time I had a windows mobile based device, I had the ability to change the cpu speed of the processor of the handset. Considering this isn't an ARM based cpu, and is made by Qualcomm. Would it still be possible, or can it currently be done to (software downclock/overclock) the current cpu within, Touch Pro 2.
Thank you in advance for your advice or input.

Th Qualcomm chipset has been a nightmare for that...
But it seems were are quite close to be able toverclock it

Hi ! Someone know anything about it ? Asus gonna release Android Marshmallow on Zenfone 2, and the GPU (PowerVR G6430) is compatible with this new api but do you think they gonna release this update with last build of android with Vulkan ? (Google announced this API will be compatible Marshmallow.)
Vulkan really increase performances with our GPU (PowerVR G6430) :
And a technical demo (real time) of vulkan on smartphones with Unreal Engine 4 :
No, asus has never been good with optimizing gpu, camera
But they are changing , who knows. , well if 820 also supports it, because s7 has it why does not lg g5 and mi5 have it.
Either its quite new to do developers or they aint interested in it
Wow, that demo video is jaw dropping. It's incredible what mobile devices are capable of these days.
I hope this happend
Maybe you can write this in here

Only the U.S. version on s7 has the 820 everyone else will be using the exynox chip
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using XDA Free mobile app
Exynos is just hyped overloaded trash. No CPU documentation No SRC is worthless to us XDA users. Even QSD820 can barely make the AOSP or CM make work properly..Oh and the Bootloader, It's got a chastity belt from samhell...
I suppose this opens up a lot more for smartphones in terms of graphic capabilities, hope soon I will be able to play a ported version of Star Wars Battlefront 2 on my phone (yeah I could use the PSP version but that version of the game sucks).
And yes more than likely Vulkan support is coming in the Marshmallow update.
hi, I'm very interested in everything about vulkan since i could see some videos about it. But my knowledge about api, android and rom's is not that good, so i would thank you if i could get some answers.
1 - Is this implementation of API a work for ASUS or Intel?
2 - Since i saw that PowerVR Rogue has now SDK(i dont know what it is) for Vulkan, Is ANYONE able to make a custom rom that could use Vulkan?
3 - I've heard that Android N will have native support for Vulkan. Does it mean that if i download a custom rom, like a cyanogenmod, for Android N to my Zenfone 2 i will have the benefits of using Vulkan?
4 - Does anyone know if that Galasy S7 that had 135k+ on antutu was using Vulkan? Because my Zenfone 2 is a great phone and only scores 65k, it's scary to thing that a S7 should have more than the double of hardware capacity that my Zenfone has. I thing that should be because of vulkan, but i need to hear it from someone who knows what's talking.
I hope to get answers for this questions. Thank you all.

1) Both Asus need intel to update graphics drivers to implement Vulkan
2) Nope still need drivers
3) This means it's implemented but not compatible with every phone running N version as SoC makers and OEMs need to update the source code
4) Galaxy s7 is superior in any way to zenfone 2 this means gpu and cpu. Vulkan api will start working only on some games if implemented if the devs don't use vulkan api then this means no visual/performance upgrade.

Our GPU is fully compatible, it's up to manufactures to include it other wise it's gonna be really hard for CM Mantainers to include it even partially.

We are very Very Sorry..
Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain that we will never get the sources required for a proper custom ROM on this device, mainly because it is Mediatek.
Waiting for Redmi Note 4 Pro (Snapdragon)...
They will launch Snapdragon version in India due to patent issues with Erricson. So we might get our hands on the source code just like Note 3.

Ya you are right mediatek device is the main issue about this phone. one thing I have also notice camera quality is not much better
The Snapdragon 652 will be a beast on this phone, especially when the ROMs start rolling in.

So it's MediaTek? I have 3 MT devices, none of them have enough space in the user partition. I thought that was the reason why there were slow and unresponsive.
But these look a lot better than what I already have. Can they be rooted, do the standard recoveries show upside-down. CWM is easier to manage that way, but TWRP is difficult.

Mediatek device main problem is regarding enough space and fast access. I hope Redmi note 4 wiil work much better if a user can root this device & create SD partition .

Hi everyone, I'm just waiting for this new phone to be arrived home, wondering why isn't listed by asus site the quickcharging feature while Qualcomm ensures Snapdragon 430 supports quickcharge, 3.0 indeed.
Do you think Asus just disabled this feature as a marketing move, or as I think it is, their websites and webstores admins are really overwhelmed by the huge amount of variations offered for each device.. leading this into somehow missing important feature data on their webs.... (LTE bands specs are also quite hard to differ) ???
What do you think about it?
PD: Put some links as info sources
...
Apparently it does not have further circuitry to support the quickcharge feature, even though it's supported by cpu itself.
I'm not much into multitasking but do play heavy games on phones. I have a 32 GB memory card with all the necessary files in it, will only use internal memory for apps only(god bless the makers for including a dedicated SD card slot?). So the main question is will 4gb/64gb variant will be a good option for the likes of me or the 3gb/32 variant will be enough?
if you planing to use the phone as long term investment then buy 4gb/64 ..bit more future proofing i think
If your current SD card is not even 50 percent full, go for the 3GB variant. But if it isn't, I suggest you go for the 64GB. It depends on the use and only you know how you will use it.

There is no news about it. I think it will have a Snaodragon 660. Always Asus phones had higher RAM version with a better processor. Also, they willl have tough competition from the upcoming Xiaomi Mi A2 which has a Snapdragon 660. So most probably, it will have.

It'll be awesome if it has Snapdragon 660 at a budget of ₹15k?. Surely will buy that variant if it comes with Snapdragon 660, I mean what else does one want at 15k. Upcoming Xiaomi Mi A2 will be having a tough competition as the battery in that device stands no where near to Asus Zenfone Max Pro.

Mi A2 would be priced around 18 to 21k it will be not launched in this price segment remember Nokia 7 plus has 660 and it is priced around at 27k ,636 is not bad processor either most of the needs it's good.

Yes. Still it has got a better camera and USB Type-C and Android One support.
Snapdragon 660 will have 2.2 GHz top clock speed compared with 1.8 of 636. And also it has Vulkan API support, if you are a pro gamer.
