Google Play Magazine V 1.0 which I tried to apply and got a message saying that it's not available in my country of course Canada.
Sound search widget. That couldn't recognized Thriller by MJ. I guess that's why they we're hidden
They we're both in Hide Apps icon.
Anyways thought I'd share.

They're not really secrets. They're present in the latest gapps and for some reason Sound Search appears on some peoples widget section and some others not.
I tried Sound Search on the AOSP build and it actually it works pretty well. Not sure why it didn't get Thriller though.
for me... the sound search wasnt hidden. it was already there in the widgets..
also found google earth... why is that locked????
I have them both and in Canada. Probably because I side loaded them both from here before JB... search XDA. The magazine doesn't do anything, just sends to to the "this is not available in your country." Music will work and find the song but it again sends you to the not available when you search.

I noticed that i don't have all of the widgets that my tablet should be having, So i went on to search for the Sound search widget and guess what? No-one in canada can have it because we don't have Google Music.. That really pissed me off, What are your thoughts on this?
Do you guys have the widget or am i just tripping?
It would be great if you guys could give your location (Country) and if you have the widget or not..
The APK for the File works but you can only identify the songs, You can't buy it (Google Music)

Brand new Galaxy S4 after washing my GS3 and reinstalled all of my old applications directly from play store -> My Apps.
After the installations completed, Facebook Chat Heads are not working correctly. Well, they work properly until I get to the home screen and they just disappear. If I pop up a menu over the home screen they return, or if I am in any app they are there without issue.
As this seems pretty trolly and I could not show with just screen shots, I have recorded a video of this in action.

Is your status bar hidden on your home screen or disabled? That'll do it.

Are you referring to the notification bar across the top? It is all set to normal everything is visible across the top. I am thinking I'm going to go to and swap it out since nobody else had the problem
Yeah I've got the same issue in my Canadian rogers galaxy s4. It's roughly the same device as the AT&T version. Not sure at all what I can do about it

Added more to the list, that is a huge amount of bloat removed and seems to be running fine without it! Definitely seems much more stock Android as well.
Good thread but quick question pls. I see many of you are disabling the hot spot. One of the top things i use is the a hot spot for my daughters homework while in the car and such. Is there a secondary hot spot youre using?

Not that I know of, but if you need it, just don't disable it
The idea here is to get to stock Android, then perhaps enable the things you needed from Verizon.
I'm a little shocked anyone would disabled the moto features. I guess this thread is about the most stock experience. But if the moto apps were on the market, & I was rocking a nexus. I would still have it downloaded lol

Also disabled the Camera app and installed the Google Camera. No reason to have two
I have disabled most of these apps. Now I can not answer my phone when it rings. The phone rings, but no animation comes up to let me swipe or any way to choose to answer it. What have I disabled/changed that would cause this? Every thing else seems to work fine.

Post your list and maybe we can figure it out. My guess is maybe you only disabled some of the Motorola specific ones? I have the full list as advertised in the first post and have no prob answering from a screen off.
Sorry, I was unable to post them. I did go into settings and enabled every one that I had disabled with my wife periodically calling me. I also randomly turned the phone off and on a few times. Still nothing. The phone rings, but the answering icon does not appear and I can not answer. Is there another way to answer the phone? Could I have turned something off that would affect this or maybe download an app?
I just went into recovery and wiped the cache partition, reboot. This did not fix the problem. Don't know what else to try? I'm thinking it is something simple. I will take it into Version tomorrow.

Possibly. I've been trying to remember what I may have done. I received a call yesterday morning just fine. Yesterday afternoon, I received a call and could not answer it because I do not get the answer phone icon. Most of the time in between those two calls, I was driving and not messing with the phone. ?

Wow. That's a lot. Update on my problem. I took the phone into Verizon this morning. The lady that helped thinks I probably uninstalled something to cause this.
What she did to fix the the problem was to do a complete default wipe.
That seems to have resolved it.
It was working properly when I left the store. In now I'm the process of restoring all my apps. That takes a little while.

That's strange, because you can't really uninstall anything, only disable.
itanas, wow that's a big list. I think some are stock Android apps, so that's cool that you can disable them, but I don't know that it gets us the pure Android.
I'll note for anyone reading that I re-enabled the Moto, Moto Activity, and Moto Display apps so I could have the notifications back (since this phone has no notification LED w/the stock software).
Also updated the first post with Camera.

How can I get Google maps to pop up notifications while navigating?
Back on the iPhone, if I was using another app, maps would notify me the next turn was coming up with a notification balloon.
Anyway to get that on my Nexus?
Curious what you're doing with the phone while driving that prevents Google Maps from being open? I have never used an iPhone, but I'm thinking you might mean how the screen turns on and shows the popup like it does for a text. I don't think this is possible with Google Maps and/or stock Android at this time.
If you are trying to keep the screen on music like Spotify or Pandora, you could try something like AutoMate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitspice.automate&hl=en) which has a dashboard style home screen that can show music info and maps info in one screen. It emulates Android Auto on the device and works very well. I use it every day.
